I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. You're welcome. I don't think my work has ever been compared to cold beer before. :P Anyway, you know, you don't have to bookmark the pages you edit frequently. You can just add them to your watchlist. Ryan 14:53, August 4, 2005 (UTC)

Sorry about that Sirimiri, I am new to contributing to Wiki and still don't understand all the processes and conventions. I'll be sure to take notice of and use the talk page before butchering an article in the future :)

I will write up something on the S&W 99 when I have a minute.

New XLR Photo

Love the new XLR pic! It's a lot cleaner, clearer and bigger than the one I submitted. Don't hesitate to replace any of my photos with pics that are better. I like your work! Jagvar 16:49, 31 October 2005 (UTC) reply

I noticed your call for more work on the Ticketmaster page a few days ago and happened to be in just the mood to make it a little less "pro-ticketmaster" today. Walther and James Bond

I did leave a note under the Walther PPK, but only in that it related directly to the Walther. That is, one reason the Walther is popular is because of Bond. Not minutia about James Bond that was there before... that belongs under the James Bond entry. As for the Walther P99, I don't think it's relavant.-- Asams10 16:19, 19 April 2006 (UTC) reply

Why did you remove my VFR800 comment old chap??? Have you owned both motorbikes? I originally owned a 5thGen, tried 2 6thGen abd returned to the 5thGen for the reasons I outlined in the VRF800 entry update. My update is supported by many VFR800 riders in the UK, I know around 30 personally and am a member of three UK based owners clubs. Sorry if this the wrong way to communicate, I am new to Wikipedia, any advice would be greatly appreciated. -- FabreFaction

Hello FabreFaction! Sorry that it seemed brusque, but I removed the 5th generation comment about the VFR because it is considered a non-neutral point of view or orginal research. You'll notice on other articles, such as the Chevrolet Corvette there are always ongoing disputes regarding how "everybody thinks the C6 'Vette tromps XXXXX car for the money" etc. but that is essentially aficionado talk that belongs on internet boards. Wikipedia is a place where the facts should speak for themselves, but "everybody says" type of statements need to be cited by external, authoritative sources. And for what it's worth, I am jealous of your gear-driven cams. I loved my 4th gen and the non FI. -- Sirimiri 22:04, 22 April 2006 (UTC) reply
Thanks for the clarification. I agree with your decision to remove the comment. Also thanks for the info on my discussion page, very useful. FabreFaction 07:01, 23 April 2006 (UTC) reply

Sniper Rifle

Hi, from our previous interaction it is obvious that you are knowledgeable and interested in small arms/firearms and weaponry in general. I would like to enlist your help in looking at the Sniper rifle article, because a user with a fairly limited history on wikipedia and has made substantial changes and additions that I feel detract from the article. He reverts changes and repeatedly pretends to answer criticisms and questions (using wordy and long winded arguments) and pretends to makes compromises in many edits (120 in 3 days). Maybe I'm crazy, I just though some other users might be interested in the state of this page and more voices might reach a better compromise/solution. See discussion on Talk:Sniper rifle#Capabilities Section Discussion and Talk:Sniper rifle#Intro. Thanks. Deon Steyn 16:11, 22 July 2006 (UTC) reply

Deon, thanks for the invite. I am not too knowledgeable on rifles, for the most part, and certainly an unaware of the tactics involved, but from the looks of it, you are facing someone who doggedly disputes things, yet doesn't really have much of a presence on Wikipedia themselves. I will add those pages to my watchlist anyway, and if there are things I can chime in on, that help build consensus and improve the article, will do so. BTW one of my "specialties" is photography, I enjoy adding my own quality images to Wikipedia, if you are in Southern California and have some weaponry-related items to photograph, we could team up on that. Or, if you have ratty photographs that need editing, I can help as well. -- Sirimiri 18:51, 22 July 2006 (UTC) reply
Thanks for the response. More users are now looking at the page which should help reach consensus and clarity. It seems this user is also watering down or obfuscating the subject to the point where it is almost meaningless in a misguided attempt at preventing pro gun control (US-specific) from latching on to the idea. I have reported him for breaking the 3 Revert Rule and I'm awaiting the outcome on WP:AN3.
I'm actually located in South Africa. Wish I was living in states with the opportunity to collect firearms! Deon Steyn 10:29, 24 July 2006 (UTC) reply

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:P99-9x19mm.JPG

Thank you for uploading Image:P99-9x19mm.JPG. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. BetacommandBot ( talk) 15:18, 8 March 2008 (UTC) reply

Orphaned non-free media (Image:P99-9x19mm.JPG)

Thanks for uploading Image:P99-9x19mm.JPG. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the " my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot ( talk) 06:18, 12 March 2008 (UTC) reply

Sinar

Hi Sirimiri.

The material i have added, and which you have repeatedly removed, is not unverified, not opinion, nor speculative.

You remove things you obviously do have no knowledge about quite happily. But please do understand that because you do not know about these things, that does by no way of reckoning either mean that anyone else is as ignorant, nor that they are not correct.

In fact, the change you made in the date of the company press release shows you do not even check your "corrections". How or why you think the date of this press release should be changed from April to May demonstrates that perfectly.

You also should understand and acknowledge the fact that we do not know everything with absolute certainty (in fact, we do know very little with absolute certainty), and that it is quite o.k. to present what we know with some degree of uncertainty as long as we also indicate the level of confidence, using words as "likely" or "unlikely", and "probably". Not having unrefutable written proof and blind speculation are worlds apart. People are better served by letting them also know the probable and very likely than by keeping things from them because some editor (i.e. you) do not know enough about them.

So please do stop vandalising the entry. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.157.96.160 ( talk) 22:03, 24 November 2011 (UTC) reply

Your contributed article, Talk:BMW M3

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, Talk:BMW M3. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – Talk:BMW_M3. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Talk:BMW_M3 – you might like to discuss new information at [[Talk:Talk:BMW_M3|the article's talk page]].

If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. E Wing ( talk) 08:03, 27 May 2014 (UTC) reply

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.

Truthfully, I'm not sure what you mean. I don't remember creating any "new" pages, nor does my history indicate said same. I don't have a static IP, perhaps that leads to some confusion? Sirimiri ( talk) 06:27, 28 May 2014 (UTC) reply

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election.
