I would e-mail you about this, due to the nature of this content, but I couldn't find a way to do that via Wikipedia. At 17:12 UTC, Metalvayne, under a sockpuppet last.fm account, left me another public comment mentioning you, and I don't care if I'm being biased, but it's downright creepy. He wrote the following:

You never know about stuff like this, but I recommend that you carry yourself with alertness and awareness on not only Wikipedia, but anywhere online, and especially in person. I don't want anything of ill consequence happening to you stemming from this clash on Wikipedia. Metalvayne might not try to pull off anything, but that does not mean he won't, because he could. Thank you for telling me this. I'm surprised he cares about me at all, considering he doesn't take much seriously on Wikipedia. He didn't even bother defending himself at ANI. The editor using 99.225.8.89 went too far for whatever reason they thought they could act on. I thought I screwed up the most, but now I know better, and I shouldn't be badmouthing them for not reading all the rules. • I had been wondering about this as well. I had noticed you only seemed to notify me in regards to trying to write that proposal, so I had wondered if you had wanted to work on the proposal with just me first, and then re-start conversations regarding it at WP:VG/GL once we had a pretty good base. (Which one could argue we have now.) If/when ever you want to bring others into it, that would be fine. It's your call.
• I can try to look into your prosal about A-class stuff, but for the record, I don't usually deal much with the higher ranking assessments (GA/A/FA). Hey Serge, I contacted ItsZippy earlier today regarding some thing with the Minetest AfD and one user exercising their intention to sock. He said that so far, Only delete comments are actually valid due to policy. Me expanding onto what he said, I believe to be fair, the article will be deleted and over the next few days there will be more random keep's and a lot more valid delete's. Also he mentioned we should avoid conflict of interest and he believes that is the reason why the users are claiming we are in violation of policy. OK, so maybe the chickens aren't as notable, but just because the others only appear in one game doesn't mean they shouldn't be noted. I did notice the "2 games" thing up there and that's why I put it under the separate category of "One-time characters". Orbot, Cubot, and ZERO are less notable than antagonists Black Doom, Captain Whisker, and Mephiles the Dark, and guest stars Marine the Raccoon, Princess Elise (whom I forgot to list and was just about to when I saw that it had been reverted), and Chip/Light Gaia. Some of them only have one "canon" appearance, any other appearances being in a multiplayer mode or a spinoff (only reason Cubot's on here is because he's in the London 2012 Olympic games), also Egg Robo and ZERO are killed so the ones appearing in later games are different robots identical in appearance. So could we at least expand it to include one-time antagonists and guest stars? If you weren't the one who gave the "recurring character" restriction, can we reason with the one who did?

And if you don't believe any of what I said, then clearly you haven't played or studied most Sonic games as I have. If nothing I said affects you in any way, I'll be forced to assume that you're just like Erik Bignole. 24.65.99.129 ( talk) 23:25, 20 September 2012 (UTC)

• If you noticed the inclusion criteria (2 game appearances for a character to be added to the list), then you should have started a discussion before adding a ton of information that went against it. You shouldd have started a discussion at the article's talk page, and then get people's information to come to a consensus.
• If you want to set up a new inclusion criteria, I'd think of an objective set of criteria, not just a subjective "I think so and so is notable so I'm putting them in". That sort of vague rationale leads to tons of arguments because it's not based on anything other than your opinion.
• If you're going to add information to the article, you need to back it up using reliable sources. (Here's information on how to figure out how to identify a reliable source.
• If you just want to write whatever you feel about any old character you want, like you've been doing, I'd suggest going to edit a Sonic wikia instead. Sergecross73 msg me 02:46, 21 September 2012 (UTC)

• I don't argue that it exists, I argue that it's not a "side-project", nor is it notable. The other things listed in the section are "side-projects": Long term projects regarding recording/producing albums, or doing tours with, notable artists ( Everclear, Ghost Machine, etc).
• The stuff related to "Release Me" is merely vocals for one single song for a Non-notable artist. ( NPA). Additionally, I suspect that you may be NPA. I know he's been blocked for violating Wikipedia's rules regarding using it only for promotional means, and I've seen a number of IP's that go primarily just go around trying to add his information to various artists. • Hi, thanks for adding some to the Breakthru! article, no one's really touched it much since I created it a ways back. I can try to add some more to it, but I was starting to hit a wall the last time I worked on it, as I had kind of exhausted what I could pull from reliable sources and my own memory from playing the game. However, there's consensus at WP:VG/S that Moby games isn't a reliable source, because it relies on user submitted information without editorial oversight. So we really can't do much with that.
• In regards to a Windows version, I'll have to look into that, I wasn't aware of it existing. Quite frankly, I'm having a hard time verifying that even the PlayStation and Sega Saturn versions exist, all I've seen are some database entries with minimal details, which sometimes indicates they weren't really released.   • Oh yeah, sorry, I forget sometimes that you can use sources that aren't typically useable elsewhere, like retail listings or whatnot, to at least confirm existence. Okay, so that's good, they definitely exist. As far as screenshots go, I agree, they'd be nice, but I'm not the one to go to about that. I find Wikipedia's image policy to be confusing and convoluted, so I usually only deal with image stuff if editors are adding especially low quality or innapropriate images or something.

Sergecross73, the article looks decent now. However I think I'm going to remove maybe 70% of those references. And I will add a screenshot too. Btw, gamespot is "reliable"? remember that the info is in gamespot because of gamefaqs. for example, if I change something on GameFAQs (change the release date for example), it will "affect" gamespot instantly. also, i don't think allgame and ign are "reliable". sometimes or manytimes they aren't, it really depends... in fact, in this case, the MobyGames page is the most reliable, just my opinion. it's funny when some or many wikipedians talk about "reliability"... but then, the BreakThru! article was so not reliable until 2 days ago. I'm not blaming you (ok maybe just a little bit, no big deal, don't get me wrong). but the fact is: I only played the PS game and it was more than 15 years ago, so basically I knew nothing about the game, developers and stuff. I only googled a little bit and realized that the article was full of wrong/incomplete info. P.S. I understand removing the GameSpot, but I'm very puzzled by your "removing 70% of the sources" comment. Why would you do that? Also, the article isn't that drastically different. You added info about a Saturn-only port and we clarified that the game was only promoted, not designed, by AP. But regardless, you can start leaving these sorts of comments on the article's talk page, it's on my watchlist and virtually no one contributes to the article beyond us two, so I'm sure I'll see it. Hey, just to make some positive come out of the whole AIC/Bloomgloom/sockpuppet kerfuffle, I'd thought I'd say hi to some of the people I felt acted admirably during the whole thing. Most of your edits seem geared towards video games, which is certainly a popular area of work on Wiki, but what music topics do you usually gravitate toward. Hi, and thanks. I tend to work on rock music articles from the 90's onward. My bigger contributions seem to be band's that I enjoy that clearly meet the GNG, but kind of fly below the mainstream, and thus their articles could a lot of work. Lately, for instance, I been cleaning up a lot of articles related to Porcupine Tree and Blackfield. I work on more mainstream bands too, but usually on more of a minor level, cleaning up POV issues, vandalism, or fans gushing over how great or terrible the given topic is. Yeah, The Smashing Pumpkins was the first article I made into a Featured Article. I haven't edited it in over a year after frustration dealing with some edits I now can't remember, which was a shame since I was so proud of it for so long and would always try to keep it up with FA standards as they changed. I don't know if I'll go back to it, buy maybe someday. Speaking of the kind of issues you mention, I notice that when it comes to alternative rock articles, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Muse (band) are the biggest recipients of them ( this ranking of most-visited pages in the Alt-Rock WikiProject is very illuminating in that regard). Anything look particularly off to you in the current version of the article? If in doubt about its quality, you can always revert the article to an earlier version and retain the newer additions that are valid. And since we're on the subject, this is the band FA I'm most proud of, and one I actually wrote in part to function as a model article for others to takes cues from. Sure, it only works as a model for bands with a certain level of fame and discourse about them (good rule of thumb: if a band has at least one full-length book written about them, then the resulting article should come out roughly like this), but it's a sound intention, I've felt. It looks largely like the R.E.M article, and seems factually accurate upon a quick scan. It's more that some of the prose in the most recent events could use some rewriting, people have gotten a little excessive in the styles/influences section, and you never know when someone slips an unreliable/fansite type source when no one is looking. It's all the typical "instability stuff" that tends to happen after a band releases a new album. (Which is also why I haven't fixed any of this myself yet.) That's an interesting quote that I hadn't read before. And Gamasutra is a reliable source too, so it's useable in a general sense if you trace it back to it's gamasutra's original link. However, in regards to what you just said:

• If you mean in real life, I'd go by whatever is said by their release date.

Why is it you struggle so hard to find continuity between games that have virtually no story in them? I mean, the Genesis Sonic's are basically: Sonic good. Robotnik bad. Sonic beats Robotnik. The End.. There's no in-game story, and he randomly traverses between green hills, chemical plants, casino's, etc, without any sort of explanation or transition. No, Gamefaqs reviews violate WP:SPS - anyone can write them. You'll need reviews that are written by actual video game journalists or editors. Like IGN or GameSpot. I had intended on cleaning up a number of those old Sonic video games, but it can be pretty hard to find reliable sources writing about them if they're from the 90's or older, since there wasn't much in the way of video game websites when those games first came out. Your best bet is to see if they received any reviews when they were re-released digitally or on a compilation (like Sonic Gems Collection), or look it up at websites like "Sonic Retro", which sometimes has scans of old magazines like Electronic Gaming Monthly that would contain Previews/Reviews. Looks like a college kid from Canada isn't a fan of OpRa. Oh well, while they're in the wrong, they're not very active about it at least, and one of us always restores the info almost immediately as well. (Even if we didn't, I think Clue Bot would probably get it, as it's almost always a giant section's removal.

Once you've made your case on a noticeboard, such as WP:AN, it's usually best to just let it develop rather than make frequent replies to points other editors say. You've obviously put a lot of effort into documenting the issues with the RFC/U, just give it time. I know it's frustrating but there's just not a great consensus on how to apply the civility pillar. It's unlikely that any who's evaluated the situation and posted a support or oppose comment is going to change their mind, so we're just going to have to wait and see how it turns out. This is a heads up that I reverted the redirect to Flaw as he has released a solo album and has another band (Five.bolt.man). If you still feel that he should be redirected to Flaw, you can start a redirect for discussion for Chris Volz. It's frowned upon to alter other's edits. Please don't do that, that's not what I wanted to do. I've undone what you changed my edit to. That doesn't belong at Requested Moves. Flaw already has it's own page, so we don't want to move it to that article. See WP:RM, it specifically says not to go there for mergers. If you're contesting it being a redirect, then we just need to have a discussion on the talk page and find a consensus on what to do. Thanks for noticing! Yeah, I love the series, but just about everything else in the Chrono series is like GA/FA status, so there's never been much of an opportunity for me to contribute much there. Once I noticed how rough the character article was, I thought I'd give it a shot. I figure I'm in a rare position, having played the game through so many times (It's my favorite, hence the name.) and also being pretty up on Wikipedia policy and guidelines and whatnot. It really has been a massive undertaking, but entertaining too -- I'll try to keep at it. I think it's because they're so difficult to write, really- I've only done one, Characters of Final Fantasy XII, and it convinced me to not do another for a long time. Wikipedia:WikiProject Square Enix/Popular pages has Characters of CC as the third-most popular non-FL list by reader views in the entire Square Enix project (and three times as popular as the list I'm doing, List of Dragon Quest media), and ahead of three of our FLs as well. Lots of people read them, it's just... well. In pretty much every case in WP:SE except for FF8 and FF12, character articles/lists are significantly worse in quality than the game/series article they're attached to. If nothing else, finding people who can write character articles is rare- prior to Niemti's recent spree, there wasn't a consistent VG character article writer of any sort since User:Kung Fu Man, who was mainly active in 2009-10, and even he wasn't really into doing lists. There's always plenty of people willing to argue over the blood type of Street Fighter characters, but very few who want to scour Google for a real reception section. Thanks for the link. I always find those "Most popular pages" lists fascinating, I need to remember to look for those. And yeah, it's true, it has been quite difficult to write. I've had to take a lot of notes on how other similar articles have been written. Good ones seem to be few and far between. Many are full of play-by-play plot summaries or trivial details. Even the talk page for the CC list article was filled with arguments over trivial details like "element color". I've been using the Characters of FF8 as a reference point, but your FF12 looks good too. Thanks, I'll use that as another reference point if need be. I'm not sure I'd have the motivation to do it if I didn't already know so much about the game, it helps that I know much of the information, I just need to find the refs to support it.

Anyways though, thanks again for saying something. It's nice having a positive conversation like this once in a while. It seems like these days so many of my discussions just boil down to people complaining to me that I'm enforcing policy/guidelines they don't like, or me telling people to stop bickering over trivial details.
