These are not warnings, but high-fives .... and a barnstar!

Thank you for improving the San Francisco building list to FL-status. Cheers! Hydrogen Iodide (HI!) 00:01, 19 October 2007 (UTC) |
According to SkyscraperPage, Crown Las Vegas has been scaled down to only 1,150 feet. ( Source). Cheers. Hydrogen Iodide (HI!) 06:04, 25 October 2007 (UTC)
Does 250 feet (76 m) sound good for the Portland list? Cheers. Hydrogen Iodide (HI!) 04:12, 28 October 2007 (UTC).
Let's go and move the project to wikispace. In addition, let's move the userpages (skyline ranking and building list) to Wikipedia space as well. BTW, the building list has a full scale-model of what a comprehensive list should look like. (Yes, I like Manhattanization). Cheers. Hydrogen Iodide (HI!) 05:30, 6 November 2007 (UTC)
I don't really think the placement of the skyscraper tag is really a big issue. Cheers. Hydrogen Iodide (HI!) 17:02, 8 November 2007 (UTC)
It looks like their project page and subpages could use some improvement. Well, I have copied several items from WP:SKYSCRAPERS over to the Engineering page. Let's not forget about that project. Cheers. Hydrogen Iodide (HI!) 07:25, 10 November 2007 (UTC)
The November 2007 issue of the WikiProject Good Articles newsletter has been published. Comments are welcome on this, as well as suggestions or offers of assistance for the December 2007 issue. Dr. Cash 01:26, 1 November 2007 (UTC)
I've just noticed the work you are doing on this article, very very nice work. Well done, keep it up. Ben W Bell talk 01:11, 5 November 2007 (UTC)
You either voted on the original list of the day proposal or the revised version. A more modest experimental proposal is now at issue at WP:LOTDP. Feel free to voice your opinion.-- TonyTheTiger ( t/ c/ bio/ tcfkaWCDbwincowtchatlotpsoplrttaDCLaM) 17:27, 7 November 2007 (UTC)
I have no idea what is going on, but could you double check you are using the template you actually want to use? {{ skyscraper}} is a deprecated infobox. Circeus 15:44, 9 November 2007 (UTC)
Hello Raime! Thanks for your message. I am very pleased that the picture I took of the Petronas Towers will be used for that skyscrapers project. This image has had a bit of an odd history here at Wikipedia. It had featured status once, but it lost that distinction after a discussion I was not aware of, in which some people thought it was digitally postprocessed. When I found out that it had lost the featured status, I added a comment in that discussion, explaining that the image is actually not postprocessed at all. It is actually a digital copy of a film picture which I took with a Nikon FM2 camera during a trip in East Asia in 2004. I think it is a beautiful picture, which does justice to the impressive beauty of the Petronas Towers. Gelo71 00:14, 11 November 2007 (UTC)
Raime, shortly after joining WikiProject Skyscrapers, I began to work a lot on the list of tallest buildings in Dubai. I would like the list to attain a featured list status, just like the ones for Miami, Philadelphia, and hopefully for Detroit. After Detroit has become a featured list, I am proposing that WikiProject Skyscrapers works on getting the Dubai list to become its next featured list. Is this possible, or is there a waiting list? If there is a waiting list, can you please direct me to that page so I can add the Dubai list? Thank you. -- Leitmanp 23:42, 12 November 2007 (UTC)
Do you think we have enough members in the Wikiproject to start forming task forces? Right now it appears there are enough editors around to form a task force maintaining articles and lists. Cheers. Hydrogen Iodide (HI!) 03:34, 13 November 2007 (UTC)
I'd say we go for it. Cheers. Hydrogen Iodide (HI!) 18:19, 13 November 2007 (UTC)
Will you kindly restore those external links. How the hell are they "irrelevant"??? These are highly relevant and extremely informative links. Wjfox2005 19:35, 13 November 2007 (UTC)
I am contacting individuals in the order of the number of featured lists that they had created by Novemeber 10, 2007. You are among those who have created the most. So you are among the first. There have been a series of proposals to initiate a Featured List of the Day on the main page. Numerous proposals have been put forth. After the third one failed, I audited all WP:FL's in order to begin an experiment in my own user space that will hopefully get it going. Today, it commences at WP:LOTD. Afterwards I created my experimental page, a new proposal was set forth to do a featured list that is strikingly similar to my own which is to do a user page experimental featured list, but no format has been confirmed and mechanism set in place. I continue to be willing to do the experiment myself and with this posting it commences. Please submit any list that you would like to have considered for list of the day in the month of January 2008 by the end of this month to WP:LOTD and its subpages. You may submit multiple lists for consideration.-- TonyTheTiger ( t/ c/ bio/ WP:LOTD) 17:00, 15 November 2007 (UTC)
Raime, I am sorry to say, but I will not be able to contribute to any articles or lists for a while. My computer is currently broken and I cannot connect to the Internet. This problem will not be fixed for a few weeks. I feel so bad that I said I would help on articles relating to Dubai buildings and now I cannot. Sorry once again, and good luck. -- Leitmanp ( talk| contributions) 06:45, 16 November 2007 (UTC)
I am back. Is there anything I should know about regarding the Dubai list that came up while I was gone? Or is there anything else that I may be able to help with that has to deal with the WikiProject Skyscrapers? Also, while I am here, I think I should notify you that Tamweel Tower and World Trade Centre Residence (two buildings that are on the Dubai list) have been marked with a deletion tag. -- Leitmanp ( talk| contributions) 04:50, 1 December 2007 (UTC)
I'm not sure if you heard of this already, but there is an-Emporis-like Wiki out there: Skyscraperwiki.org. How does this relate to the Afd discussion (which appears to be a no consensus)? Maybe some skyscraper articles that don't belong here (fails WP:NOTE according to some editors) should be transwikied over there. On a good note, IP addresses are not allowed to edit the Wiki, so that might cut down on vandalism. However, as you may have noticed, there are no buttons for interaction at all for IP users (talk and history tabs missing). In addition, the registering process for SkyscraperWiki isn't as simple as here on Wikipedia. You will need to post a message to some person on the corresponding SkyscraperWiki Forum to get an account. The fact that website is relatively new means that it's very inactive (as of 11/17/2007, there is a 10 day span of no edits, many of the edits have been done by just one person). There are only 72 articles in the entire Wiki (as of 11/17/2007) compared to nearly 950 articles for the Skyscraper WikiProject here. This goes hand in hand with the fact webtraffic there is nano-sized compared to Wikipedia. Lastily, that Wiki isn't really fit for some editors (like you and me) who have interests in other fields besides Skyscrapers. Any geology-related, geographic, historical, or mathematic-related contribution there would make no sense. Seriously, because of all the reasons mentioned above, I prefer staying here than setting up a new account over there at SkyscraperWiki, even though that means setting up a new WP:NOTE guideline and going through long Afd debates. The breadth of topics here is much greater than SkyscraperWiki.org. Let me know what you think.
As for the Skyscraper WikiProject, is this project going to be redundant to SkyscraperWiki? I may post some notice about this on the project talk page if I have time tomorrow (midterm madness still rolling around). Cheers. Hydrogen Iodide (HI!) 08:50, 17 November 2007 (UTC)
Another note (forgot to say), let's make the example factually consistent with the list example in the tallest buildings section. I think the way it is might confuse some members/editors. Cheers. Hydrogen Iodide (HI!) 02:56, 18 November 2007 (UTC)
Done - Changed the info in the list example to match. Cheers. Hydrogen Iodide (HI!) 03:14, 18 November 2007 (UTC)
Note: Any city that has more than 100 completed skyscrapers (NYC and HK) should have a cutoff of 600 feet. If we use the old cutoff, then the list will be very hard to maintain and way too long. Cheers. Hydrogen Iodide (HI!) 01:34, 20 November 2007 (UTC)
I know you are a skyscraper specialist, so I trust your work. However, you failed to add citations to back up your changes at Waldorf-Astoria Hotel and Residence Tower. Please take some time to do so if you have some. Otherwise explain the changes that are different from the text in the links currently included in the article.-- TonyTheTiger ( t/ c/ bio/ WP:LOTD) 18:43, 23 November 2007 (UTC)
