Hello, PBP, I would like to remind you that after you complete the merges for Rainier Wolfcastle, etc. that you follow through with the instructions at Help:Merging. Specifically, things like adding a template, removing the proposed merge notices, and adding a link back to the article for archival purposes are, while seemingly trivial, not to be overlooked, and they greatly help when I'm trying to clear the 16,414-article backlog. I do appreciate all the work you've done with the Simpsons characters—I think that you do a much better job at selective paste merging than me, since I'm more suited to maintenance tasks like copying and pasting, and fixing templates, rather than any sort of creative writing—and because of your experience, that you have a better grasp at the content than I do, and that I should give you a friendly reminder. :| TelCo NaSp Ve :| 18:23, 18 August 2010 (UTC) reply

I don't know why you consider making talk page redirects hounding (I suggest you re-read the content of that page), but it is clearly not hounding by any stretch of the imagination. Redirecting talk pages is both common and good practice. If you're under a lot of stress, please take a few moments to take a deep breathe and stay calm. Accusations of hounding on such shoddy grounds and trivial matters can be seen as a violation of WP:CIVIL and other behavioural guidelines such as WP:AGF.

Headbomb, you need to look at the edit in the broader context of Tele's interaction with me. I've sent you an e-mail about it. Talk page redirection is not always good policy...you need to save the talk page for discussion of the redirect. Take a step back and realize what you're complaining about: an editor making redirects. That alone should give you some perspective on how ridiculous the whole kerfuffle is. If dude/dudette X wants to redirect the talk page, let him/her, there's no harm in having them, and in most cases this will be beneficial. If you just don't like to see the edits pop in your watch list, unwatch the redirect after making it. I'll read your email soon, but I'll doubt it'll contain anything that will turn creating redirects into reprehensible behaviour. • Pool B's winner was Casliber ( submissions). Awarded the top score for featured articles this round, Casliber writes primarily on natural sciences, especially botany and ornithology.
• Pool A's close second was Sasata ( submissions). Awarded the top score for featured pictures this round, Sasata writes primarily on natural sciences, favouring mycology.
• Pool B's close second was ThinkBlue ( submissions). Awarded the top score for good articles and topics this round, ThinkBlue primarily writes content related to television and film, including 30 Rock.
• The first wildcard was TonyTheTiger ( submissions). Awarded the top score for did you knows and valued pictures this round, TonyTheTiger writes on a number of topics, including baseball, American football and Chicago.

We say goodbye to the six who fell at the final hurdle. Geschichte ( submissions) only just missed out on a place in the final eight. Resolute ( submissions) was not far behind. Candlewicke ( submissions) was awarded top points for in the news this round. Gary King ( submissions) contributed a variety of did you know articles. Suomi Finland 2009 ( submissions) said "I'm surprised to have survived so far into the competition", but was extactic to see Finland in the semi-finals. Arsenikk ( submissions) did not score this round, but has scored highly in previous rounds. We also say goodbye to Ian Rose ( submissions), who withdrew earlier this month after spending six weeks overseas. Anyone interested in this round's results can see them here and here. Signups for next year's competition are now open. Planning is ongoing, with a key discussion about judges for next year open. Without trying to sound like a jerk - neither any either nor myself possess any obligation to improve an article an article on Wikipedia. Hi. There are people in the category who have no exact explanation in their articles as to whether they are "ethnically" Jewish. There are black Jews, too, and are they of "Jewish descent"? Do they cease to do so when they become atheists? Difficult to say. I'll keep that statement like it is since while the statement might be amiguous it's better than an overstatement. Do they cease to have a Jewish descent if they convent to atheism, or any other faith? Of course not! If your parents are Jewish, and you become Catholic, you still have Judaism in your background. This is an interesting question, but the main purpose of these ratings, as I understand it, is to help identify which articles (eg: top importance but lower quality) need immediate attention by this project. You felt so strongly about this assertion that you made it bold and added "full stop". A personal story: When my wife and I moved to the Napa Valley about 18 years ago, we wanted to join the local synagogue. She is born Jewish and deaf, and I was an atheist who had been born Catholic. Due to my wife's deafness, I had to discuss things on the phone with a guy from the membership committee. When I explained we were an intermarried couple (unacceptable among Orthodox Jews), he laughed and said, "That's OK, I'm an atheist." All these years later, he's still at the Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur services, I've converted to Judaism and served as synagogue president without adopting traditional theism, and Jewish atheists abound. Read about the teachings of Rabbi Mordechai Kaplan, and perhaps you may begin to understand. And also be aware that all denominations of Judaism place the highest priority on overt behavior, which is objective, than on internal faith, which is a mental state that people can lie about if they wish. I understand where you're coming from, kinda. The problem is that that is a very "in-universe" perspective...on the face of it, most people would find the term "RELIGION atheist" contradictory or confusing, because they haven't read Kaplan. I certainly don't think you're a "dick" but rather a well-meaning young guy who knows very little about Jewish thinking and identity. My guess is that you think of Judaism as a kind of Christianity without Jesus. I spent 13 years in fairly serious study of Judaism before deciding to convert. It was only when I understood how profoundly differerent Jewish thinking on God really is that I was prepared to call myself Jewish without accepting the all powerful guy in the sky with the voice of Charlton Heston. I think that the top importance bios should be of people who are central to our conception of what California is all about. In my mind, that rules out most famous athletes, entertainers and movie stars, who by definition operate on a worldwide stage. I was thinking of Charlie Chaplin, who I think is the central figure in the dominance of California moviemaking, even though he was a Brit who left the US in disgust at McCarthyism. The Purple said this about Cesar: "Chavez because a state that has 8-10 million Mexicans should probably have a biography up there." As a Mexican-American, I found that racist and insulting but was polite about it. I had no intention of causing any divisiveness, but you may want to know that Purple was taken to Ani for insulting me before, as he has again on my talk page. I was very careful only to repeat his own words back to him. If you double check, you will see at no time did I "attack and/or lie." Yes, I speak plainly, but like Jack Nicholson said. What Commonwealth are you talking about? I certainly agree that most English language speakers live outside the USA - it's a linguistic statistic. On policy violations, perhaps you might like to familiarise yourself with: WP:POINTY, WP:GAME, and WP:CIVIL, and there is also the one somewhere about deliberate misuse of warning templates. The 2010 WikiCup is over! It has been a long journey, but what has been achieved is impressive: combined, participants have produced over seventy featured articles, over five hundred good articles, over fifty featured lists, over one thousand one hundred "did you know" entries, in addition to various other pieces of recognised content. A full list (which has yet to be updated to reflect the scores in the final round) can be found here. Perhaps more importantly, we have our winner! The 2010 WikiCup champion is Sturmvogel_66 ( submissions), with an unbelievable 4220 points in the final round. Second place goes to TonyTheTiger ( submissions), with 2260, and third to Casliber ( submissions), with 560. Congratulations to our other four finalists – White Shadows ( submissions), William S. I've so far managed to find a few Brits and Canadians, so I don't see why those categories couldn't be created as well. However as you have pointed out, former training isn't nessisary to be a minister in Quakerism, so it is quite dicey to pick out who should be called "clergy". Sure See WP:OTHERSTUFF--the simple fact that other unacceptable articles exist is no rationale for this one existing.
