Welcome new user

Hello, User:Punkpicasso , I see you've opened an account and begun to make edits to the encyclopaedia. You are most welcome. Here's a standard welcome box with lots of useful links. I hope you get pleasure from editing and making Wikipedia an even better resource for the community. Wikipedia encourages new members to jump in and make corrections and contributions to articles. I myself found the Be bold guideline particularly encouraging when I was getting started. I also found the Wikipedia:Cheatsheet a useful quick reference for editing text.

If you have any questions about the project don't hesitate to contact me on my talk page here :- User_talk:Lumos3.

Happy editing,

Mark Shaw (singer)

Hello, I'm afraid that, because Wikipedia is a neutral encyclopedia with high quality standards in terms of verifiability, particularly in terms of biographies of living persons, you can't just add information without providing evidence in the form of reliable, authoritative and neutral third-party sources. Biographies of Living Persons

Permit me please to quote directly from the guidelines:
If you have a complaint about a biography of a living person, and you wish to contact the Wikimedia Foundation, see here and below.

Editors must take particular care when adding information about living persons to any Wikipedia page. [1] Such material requires a high degree of sensitivity, and must adhere strictly to all applicable laws in the United States, to this policy, and to Wikipedia's three core content policies:

We must get the article right. Be very firm about the use of high-quality sources. All quotations and any material challenged or likely to be challenged must be explicitly attributed to a reliable, published source, which is usually done with an inline citation. Contentious material about living persons (or recently deceased) that is unsourced or poorly sourced—whether the material is negative, positive, neutral, or just questionable—should be removed immediately and without waiting for discussion. [2] Users who persistently or egregiously violate this policy may be blocked from editing.

This explains why your edits have been deleted. George Custer's Sabre ( talk) 22:30, 2 October 2012 (UTC) reply

Guidelines

Citations to reliable, authoritative, and neutral third-party sources would allow the edits you want to make. They are essential. Wikipedia requires them. Two good sets of Wikipedia guidelines that I have found really useful can be found HERE and HERE. Regards, George Custer's Sabre ( talk) 13:42, 22 April 2013 (UTC) reply

Your recent edit on the page Mark Shaw (singer) added material which is not related to the subject of the article. Please do not do this as such edits are not constructive. If you like to experiment further, please use the sandbox instead. Thank you. Dl2000 ( talk) 03:03, 23 April 2013 (UTC) reply

Your recent editing history at Mark Shaw (singer) shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.

To avoid being blocked, instead of reverting please consider using the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. See BRD for how this is done. You can post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection. Alleged bias

Actually, I really liked Shaw and Then Jerico, with no H, during their successful period and still like them now. I merely observe that you seem intent on violating Wikipedia guidelines by introducing non-neutral citations or subjective content. I have provided the guidelines for you to read. Please try to comply with them. Regards, George Custer's Sabre ( talk) 05:24, 24 April 2013 (UTC) reply
