Hey Mjeims. A few months ago, I started the Draft:List of F4 and EF4 tornadoes, which has turned into a huge project. Myself and 8 other editors have worked on it and we probably are about 10-15% of the way done. I wanted to ask if you would want to help work on the draft? I have asked a few other others who work with weather-related articles, and I posted a message to WP:Weather's talk page back when the draft first started, but that was since archived, so now I have just been asking editors to see if they would want/could help with the draft. Dear project member, This message is being sent out to encourage new ideas and feedback on those proposed in regard to the colors debate for WikiProject Weather. For those who are unaware of what's been happening over the last year, I will give a brief summary. We have been discussing proposed changes to the colors of the dots on tropical cyclone maps and templates and infoboxes across the entire weather project in order to solve issues related to the limited contrast between colors for both normal vision as well as the various types of color blindness ( MOS:ACCESS). We had partially implemented a proposal earlier this year, however, it was objected to by a number of people and additional issues were presented that made it evident this wasn't the optimal solution. We tried to come up with other solutions to address the issues related to color contrast, however, none of them gained traction and no consensus was generated.
We need your help and I encourage you to propose your own scale and give feedback on those already listed. Keep in mind that we are NOT making a decision on any individual proposal at this time. We are simply allowing people to make proposals and cultivate them given feedback from other project members. Please visit our project page for additional details. - I would advise you to engage with discussions at AN/I, and to take on-board what people there tell you. I guess that one person's uninvolved administrator is another person's condescending bully, but don't be deceived into thinking that if you ignore it, it will go away. The comment I made to which USM responded was written before I was made to know the full extent of my mistake, and I of course do know many administrators are not condescending, as I've had positive experiences with them. You're doing great work in helping fix old tornado tables. Just a heads up though, we don't use the damage column anymore. That was my idea that we introduced for a few months. - They don't hurt anything, they're just not very useful. You can remove them from where you've added them or just leave them, doesn't matter too much. Another request, though. Please stay away from pages you see are under construction. You submitted an edit here when I've spent the past two days working on this section off Wiki. For April 2nd. Why?? You know better, and know that other users have established that we have to wait until significant, damaging tornadoes, usually EF3 or higher or causing death have been confirmed. You cannot let the rules slide based on SPC hype and model output, and it’s not debatable. Today underperformed and now I have to mark an article for speedy deletion. We haven’t even had a confirmed EF2. Please, do not do this again and wait until the outbreak over to asses for article eligibility. You know better. - Brother, I enabled nothing. It was a DRAFT. A draft is there "just in case". Nothing really notable happened, so no article is needed. But the user that created the entry did it as a draft, which can be easily removed if the event does not verify.
