Welcome!

Hello, Joeception, and welcome to Wikipedia! My name is Ian and I work with Wiki Education; I help support students who are editing as part of a class assignment.

I hope you enjoy editing here. If you haven't already done so, please check out the student training library, which introduces you to editing and Wikipedia's core principles. You may also want to check out the Teahouse, a community of Wikipedia editors dedicated to helping new users. Below are some resources to help you get started editing.

Copying within Wikipedia requires attribution

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Monk (TV series) into Phobia. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{ copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. DanCherek ( talk) 19:38, 8 March 2022 (UTC) reply

Hello DanCherek,

I appreciate the information about the different ways to attribute where info from other parts of Wikipedia was coming from. I will be sure to include the additional information. I had made sure to link the original page of the content already as well as provide a source but will revisit to ensure proper attribution. This was my first time utilizing info from another wiki page so this will be very helpful moving forward.

I provided the attribution in the edit summary of this edit so you're all set here. This was just a reminder for any future instances of copying from other Wikipedia articles. Thanks! DanCherek ( talk) 20:20, 8 March 2022 (UTC) reply
