Managing a conflict of interest

Information icon Hello, Fuzzy-logic79. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Hellebore (magazine), you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. S0091 ( talk) 17:11, 13 June 2023 (UTC) reply

Hi, I am a subscriber to hellebore, I have met the editor in the past and I did ask them directly for more information after the article was rejected for lack of notable references. I don't know if this counts as a conflict of interests and is something I should declare? Fuzzy-logic79 ( talk) 21:46, 14 June 2023 (UTC) reply
Thanks for responding, Fuzzy-logic79. What you describe is not a conflict of interest so there is nothing you need to do. It sounds like you are simply a fan which sometimes can come across as having a COI to other editors (see also WP:Single-purpose account). Also, if you ever have questions or need help, you can ask at the Teahouse. S0091 ( talk) 14:34, 15 June 2023 (UTC) reply
