Colonel Kill Motherfuckers

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Colonel Kill Motherfuckers, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also " What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{ dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. The real issue here is trying to convince you guys (the admins) rather than proving the actual validity of the film. But, I'll give it a go. If you will go to the Hack Movies MySpace, you will notice the writer/director/producer Kevin Strange has been interviewed on numerous shows. Also with a google search, you will see Hack Movies, Kevin Strange, and their numerous productions have been purchased, written about, and distributed internationally including dreadcentral.com, faygoluvers.com, and many other top-rated horror venues. Also, collectively the youtube pages for the director and Hack Movies have been viewed hundreds of thousands of times. Erkman27 ( talk) 04:03, 21 April 2008 (UTC) reply

The article Dead Shit has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done because the article, which appeared to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, did not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the notability of the subject may be deleted at any time. If you can indicate why the subject is really notable, you are free to re-create the article, making sure to cite any verifiable sources.

Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and for specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for musicians, or for companies. File copyright problem with File:Hack Movies logo.gif

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading File:Hack Movies logo.gif. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Zoo Fari 04:23, 2 November 2009 (UTC) reply

Hack Movies

Hi there again Erkman. Just to let you know, I've seen that you asked a question over at Wikiproject Films, and I've moved it into the right place. Hopefully you'll start getting responses to it. Sorry I didn't see your question - if you need to get hold of me head on over to my talk page and I'll usually reply in a day or so. The other thing is that I've had to remove the article from the main encyclopedia (don't worry, it's still in the sandbox) as it's still got a couple of problems:

  • You need to prove why the company is important. It's not enough for it to exist - it's got to be shown that it's notable for something (like the way it does gore etc.). Most of the stuff you've referenced talks about their latest film rather than the company itself. That makes the film notable, but not really the company. There's a whole bunch of info at Wikipedia:Notability (films) and Wikipedia:Notability (organizations and companies) to help get you started.
  • You also need to use good quality sources. You can find more info on this at Wikipedia:Reliable sources. As a rule, forum pages and fansites don't qualify as reliable sources.

You're getting there, and I'm hoping that the film guys will start helping you out now. Just a little more, and you're all set. Any problems, feel free to give me a shout. All the best, Gazi moff 22:42, 3 November 2009 (UTC) reply

I've just noticed the request at Wikiproject Films. I can't help directly, as I don't know anything about the subject, but have you tried horror magazines or something similar? They seem to be the most likely to have covered the subject and they should count as reliable sources. Small and new companies are a problem as they have rarely been noticed enough to get any press. Specialist media of some kind appears to be the most likely to pick up on them first. To follow on from Gazimoff's advice, I find that once you have good sources the notability is a lot easier to establish. - AdamBMorgan ( talk) 21:47, 19 January 2010 (UTC) reply

A tag has been placed on Hack Movies, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam as well as Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{ hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. File permission problem with File:Billy Baxter b.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Billy Baxter b.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{ OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{ non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Eeekster ( talk) 23:13, 2 May 2011 (UTC) reply

So please forgive me as I'm trying my best to be tactful here. I am not talking about promoting Wiki. I am talking about maintaining and updating an article on someone who has worked in the film industry for many, many years and is more than notable in any sense. He produced and helped market a legion of Hollywood projects as well as having friendships and business associations with the biggest and most notable on the planet. All I'm asking is that you help Jack to update the page to meet yours and Wiki guidelines. reply

First of all, let me make this very clear, I am not being hostile nor is my intent to be hostile. Please assume good faith in all my replies. If you notice, in spite of your initial hostile reply, I refused to reply negatively and if anything have bent over backwards to communicate with you. I assume that this will be the last assumption of hostility.
Now to the point, I was referring to the use of Wikipedia as a tool to promote any entity. If an article can be provided that meets Wikipedia criteria for notability using reliable source then it will survive any review by editors such as myself. I have no issue helping anyone create article, but it can be difficult when one is following Wikipedia guidelines and the edits are reversed without comment as to why.

Thanks for uploading File:Haunting Kira poster.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the " my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box.

I won't "ask" again. The information I have used to create this article has been provided by Billy and Billy's son. Neither of them know how to edit Wiki and they don't have time to figure it out except what help I provide them. As I mentioned, Billy's son Jack will be creating a profile and making further edits. Meanwhile, DO NOT TOUCH THE ARTICLE.

I suggest you read WP:OWN. Yes, I am making the changes to the article, you are adding copyrighted material to the article. This is in violation of Wikipedia guidelines and US copyright laws. Erkman27 ( talk) 02:48, 3 May 2011 (UTC)It is becoming increasingly difficult to field your replies with words that do not border on hostile.

(This is the purpose of communicating on user's talk pages and in the edit summary. I look forward to the changes in the article and helping provide any guidance that I can. ttonyb ( talk) 03:03, 3 May 2011 (UTC) reply
This is not in any way, shape or form possibly discernible considered "vandalism". This seems more like, at worst, a case of conflict of interest editing and edit warring if anything else.
