And I say: Sorry it took so long to reply, but I have now posted a couple of comments to this discussion. I don't feel that I have a lot to add that I haven't already commented on, but I am still interested in seeing where the discussion goes. I've also commented at Template talk:Infobox actor#Golden Globe Awards and would value your opinion. I've suggested that Filmfare Awards should be added - but this is not my area of expertise, and I would defer to your opinion. If you have a moment could you pop over and share your views. PETA images

Hi. I was wondering if you would be interested in sending an email to the Wikimedia Commons mailing list detailing what the process was like in getting that image licensed. If PETA is actually open to freely licensing their material, I'm pretty sure we'd like to hear more about how this might work. If you don't want to subscribe to a list, but are still willing, you could send mail to me to forward. Jkelly 03:08, 14 February 2007 (UTC)

Sure, no problem. :) Just give me a couple of days and I'll send something to you. Ekantik talk 05:32, 14 February 2007 (UTC)

Hi there!

Hi. Sorry for the late reply :-). I read the article you provided, very funny I must say. Yes DMU is ok, but getting very hard. How's the re-vamp for Shilpa Shetty's article going? BTW, thanks for letting me know that I've got your support regarding the personal attacks by User:Shez 15. Right now he's walking a thin line. I think he feels that I watch over every article, you'll see what I mean when you go on the edit history for the film Har Dil Jo Pyar Karega. Hope your doing well. Thanks again for your support. -- Pa7 16:15, 14 February 2007 (UTC)

Rating the ToK

Need people with an opinion

Hey there. I noticed that in the past, you have participated in a discussion about Filmographies and lists of works in general here. There is now a RfC discussing this and more aspects here. It would be nice if you took a look and gave your comments on those matters. Thank you. theroachman T C 02:07, 19 February 2007 (UTC)

Re: MH Wikiproject votes

Quite honestly, it doesn't seem like a particularly useful thing to do, given the circumstances; but it's no big deal either way, really. Kirill Lokshin 02:01, 21 February 2007 (UTC)

My question about Sai Baba Link?

http://www.shirdi-sai-baba.com is one of the best website on Sai Baba. Also http://forum.spiritualindia.org is another best resource on Sai Baba. so why these links has been removed. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 122.167.131.98 ( talk) 09:32, 24 February 2007 (UTC).

It is a matter of opinion which is the "best website" for Shirdi Sai Baba. I took a look at it and it didn't offer anything special that should be notable for an external link. The forum link is unsuitable for Wikipedia because Wikipedia does not link to forums. Hope that helps. Ekantik talk 02:58, 25 February 2007 (UTC)
Well yes. It just a mtter of opinion. You IGNORED this website which has lots of and dedicated contents on Sai Baba. Check out the other website listed in Sai Baba section. This website ( http://www.shirdi-sai-baba.com) covers majot topics about Sai Baba. I am not sure what else "SPECIAL" you are looking for. This website has Sai Baba books collection, photo gallery, Screen Savers, a foumd of 4500+ members. Reconsider your action. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 122.167.141.217 ( talk) 16:15, 25 February 2007 (UTC).

India Dem

Because of India's rich diversity, no one image can represent all of India's one billion people. That is why I propose selecting a new demographics image every three months. This would allow for a regional balance and would show India as a whole. Many people have agreed that this is the only way to represent India's rich and varied diversity. Since you have voted for a change in the demographics section, I wanted to update you on this proposal. I would love to hear your comments on talk:India. Thanks so much. Have a great day!

Please report the spam problem to meta:Talk:Spam blacklist.

If I had to stop this spam problem, I would have to block a whole ISP, which would cause too much collateral damage. Instead, make the report at meta:Talk:Spam blacklist. Thank you. Jesse Viviano 02:54, 9 March 2007 (UTC)

I will take care of the report for you. Jesse Viviano 02:58, 9 March 2007 (UTC)
Oops! I did not notice that you already reported this. I will try to report the backlog at meta:Talk:Spam blacklist somehow. Jesse Viviano 03:05, 9 March 2007 (UTC)
I have semi-protected the page to stop the IP spamming. Jesse Viviano 03:23, 9 March 2007 (UTC)
Thank you very much for your efforts. I had an inkling that it would require blocking an ISP and was in two minds over whether to file the report, so I decided to take care of both ends by reporting the spamlink at meta too. Anyhow, thanks very much for your consideration and I hope your efforts to help will prevent further spamming. Semi-protecting the page was a good move. Regards, Ekantik talk 03:34, 9 March 2007 (UTC)
Next time a page is getting vandalized or spammed by many IPs at once, please request semi-protection at Wikipedia:Requests for page protection. Also, report edit wars there and request full protection for those cases. As for the spamvertised site, report that at Meta like you did earlier. Jesse Viviano 04:04, 9 March 2007 (UTC)

Indian cinema template

I have created a template for Indian cinema as is standard with all other countries. If you have any ideas for improvement let me know -the template should go at the bottom of all India cinema pages to try to connect a vast project together. I've tried to keep it as smal as possible .Let me know if you like it

♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "I've been expecting you" 13:07, 12 March 2007 (UTC)

P.S remember I was the one who initally bulked up Shilpa Shetty's carrer section and started many of her earlier films! ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "I've been expecting you" 13:09, 12 March 2007 (UTC)

I'm glad you approve. This good looking template was made as a part of Category:Film country templates attempting to connect each and every film related article by the repsective cinema. The template will eeventually go at the footer of all film articles and cinema people actors, direcotrs etc. In the case of India it is such a massive industry I thought it easier to understand by one box for Indian cinema with the sub categories by language industry etc. It will really help to connect every Indian cinema article as with every other country. THanks, I jhope other key memebers of your project agree ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "I've been expecting you" 14:56, 12 March 2007 (UTC)

I have also altered the indexing of the Lists of Indian films so that when he click on e.g Category:Tamil-language films the list of films will be at the top rather than in the middle of the films ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "I've been expecting you" 14:58, 12 March 2007 (UTC)

THANKYOU!! Much appreicated. keep up the good work on Shilpa Shetty and Indian cinema -I started a number of her earlier films whilst she was on BB e.g Aakrosh 1994-1997 films mostly etc -feel free to expand them or whatever. I have also generated a list of missing Indian films from wikipedia which you and the Indian cinema project may find useful. I'll retrieve it for you now ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "I've been expecting you" 15:03, 12 March 2007 (UTC)

Here is the entire list of missing Indian films from Wikipedia

It may be a usefultool to tell everyone at WP:Indian cinema which films are missing from the project -I haven't got around to sorting them yet!! but fell free to sort the lists ideally it needs severla members to remove all the films already on wikipedia and then red link all of the missing articles -to ensure complete coverage . Thanks ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "I've been expecting you" 15:10, 12 March 2007 (UTC)

All of the lists neeed bulleting and wikifying like the beginning of Wikipedia:WikiProject Films/List of films without article/List of missing Indian Films:A-D. If you could ensure that most of Indian cinema are aware of this data list I hope it will be a useful tool for the project ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "I've been expecting you" 15:13, 12 March 2007 (UTC)

As with other countries I would hope that the template will be suitable for adding on all articles including screenwriters of India, Indian direcotrs, all films etc unless it is e.g a one line stub and the template is too dominating . It is a massive task global film this is why | feel it important to set up an important framework for each country. I should join Indian cinema sometime -I always find it fascinating but I haven't got around to India yet. I currently working on the Category:Argentine films. All the best and thanks ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "I've been expecting you" 15:22, 12 March 2007 (UTC)

Re: Spam Problem? Sathya Sai Book Centre, London UK

Hi, Ekantik I am sorry but I did know how to proceed with your instructions - I tried to do my best. I will explain our insertion in Wikipedia and I hope that you will be able to remove the block. I have applied to be whitelisted. Link for whitelist consideration: srisathyasaibookcentre.org.uk

Page to use the link on: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sathya_Sai_Baba

Why the link would be useful to the encyclopedia article proper:

The website in question serves two functions:

a. It represents the Sri Sathaya Sai Book Centre (SSSBC), based in London - the only Sri Sathya Sai Book Shop or Centre in Europe with its own premises. The Book Centre also ships Sathya Sai books to parties all over the world; with books in various ethnic languages, the Book Centre is the only such provider in the West that stocks Sathya Sai books in Hindi, Gujarati and Chinese.

b. It provides a wealth of information and resources about Sri Sathya Sai Baba, his life and his message. This information complements the Wikipedia resource as it provides devotees with direction and help, especially with regard to visiting the Ashram. See for example: srisathyasaibookcentre.org.uk/ashram-going-to-the-ashram1.php

The reasons given for blacklisting this website are that:

1. It is not an official Sri Sathya Sai website 2. It is not an International Sri Sathya Sai website 3. It a commercial entity

In dealing with each, we hope to show that that the SSSBC website is a valuable resource to Wikipedia users and should be reinstated in the stated Wikipedia page

1. The SSSBC is entirely owned by the Sri Sathya Sai UK Trust (SSUT), which is the official charity of the Sri Sathya Sai UK Organisation, and recognised by the Charity Commission. The website in question represents the SSSBC and therefore represents an official Sri Sathya Sai body under the auspices of the Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisation in India.

2. Whilst the SSSBC is located in London, it provides resources to interested parties all over the world. However, in order to accommodate the stated objection, a 'Regional' section of the stated Wikipedia page was set up. However, it seems this change did not satisfy the stated objections.

3. The SSSBC is owned by the SSUT, so it is in no way a commercial entity - it is part of a charitable trust. The main function of the SSSBC is to make Sai Baba's message freely available to the general public. The fact that the SSSBC sells books should be seen to conflict with this function, but in fact supports it. Any revenue from the sale of books goes directly to the SSUT. The SSSBC is also subsidised by the SSUT to cover the operating losses. 89.243.90.190 18:22, 11 March 2007 (UTC)

Well I personally don't have a problem with this website except for the fact that all other involved editors agreed that the site in question was questionable and didn't really fulfill the terms of WP:EL, namely that the link doesn't help the article in any way except to advertise a bookshop website. It doesn't actually matter (much) if the site is commercial or charitable, that doesn't help it to be used as a link in the article unless it contains information that improves the article.
Also, the number of times it has been deleted (by all editors) and re-added (by you) does not endear to anyone when it becomes an edit-war, and the numerous re-additions show a total lack of respect for the opinions/decisions of other editors. And ultimately, Wikipedia is not a collection of links, especially since this particular link does not appear to improve the article in a significantly encyclopedic way. CInema templates are up for deletion

Unbelievably a nasty user has put all of the cinema templates up for deletion. I beelive they serve a great purpose for establishing a better understanding and connection between articles. But in totla haste he has gone ahead and proposed the lot. If my hard work is deleted I swear I am leaving wikipedia for good. I am willing to limit the use of the American template but not the others.

Please leave your view at Wikipedia:Templates for deletion/Log/2007 March 13 THanks ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "I've been expecting you" 12:43, 14 March 2007 (UTC)

Re: Jaya Bachchan image

Hi there, I'd like to ask why you think this edit of yours determines that the image does not fulfil FU criteria? I have presented a detailed FU rationale at Image:Jaya_Bachchan.jpg as well as employed the appropriate FU template. Category:Official_photographs_of_Indian_politicians is a list of Indian-politician articles that employ images using this template, so I am at a loss to understand why you think the image does not fulfill FU criteria. Bear in mind that the image itself is from the official Indian Govt. website. Please reply on my talk-page. Regards, Ekantik talk 02:56, 22 March 2007 (UTC)

Hi, actually never mind. I just saw Ganeshk's reply. I should have known that images of living people may not qualify as I have previous experience with uploading images of living people, but I would have thought that an Indian politician photo template would have covered images found at Indian governmental websites. It just seems a sad waste of effort the way I ran around finding an "official" image and then hunting down a template because Wikipedia policy hates living people. Rather disappointed but hey, what can you do? Ekantik talk 03:04, 22 March 2007 (UTC)

Fair use is not a blanket license to copy images. That is for images of which no free replacements can ever be found. Indian politician images are copyrighted. If someone is dead, you might claim that no replacements can be found, but in case of Jaya Bachchan, that argument doesn't hold.

Ganeshk has already replied in Indian-related notice board, I'm quoting him below to show why the use is not a valid fair use:

Indian government website pictures are copyrighted. They fail our fair-use criteria and cannot be used here. Please read Wikipedia:Fair_use#Policy point #1 and Wikipedia:Fair_use#Counterexamples point #8. The ones in Category:Official_photographs_of_Indian_politicians will have to be removed too unless the person is not alive.

There has been a huge debate about Fair use images of living persons, and the overwhelming consensus is NOT to use when a photo may be taken of the person. Consider Big B's article ... it now has a free image. -- Ragib 03:06, 22 March 2007 (UTC)

I understand your frustration ... I had faced the same about historic buildings and other ruins in Bangladesh ... the official photos were not free. I had to go on long tours in Old Dhaka to get the photos myself. -- Ragib 03:08, 22 March 2007 (UTC)
Equally frustrating is the case of Bangladesh Liberation War ... there are thousands of photos available, but not any on free license. I've been knocking on doors for the last 1 year or so to get permission. -- Ragib 03:09, 22 March 2007 (UTC)
Yeah, actually I was the one who ran around trying to get that image of Amitabh freely-licensed and it worked, so I thought I'd do the same for Jaya as well, lol. Oh I suppose I can still put in the effort if I want to but I'm "officially" on wikibreak now, lol. From your story of old buildings, Bangladesh war etc. it does seem rather harsh that many people resort to taking their own images of whatever they're illustrating. At least it gives some of us a reason to use our cameras more. :-) Ekantik talk 03:16, 22 March 2007 (UTC)

Project News
  • Jimbo's visit to India and the WikiCamp in Chennai: Jimbo recently visited India in late February and early March on wiki work. This included a trip to a WikiCamp in Chennai. The one day conference attracted 300 participants from across India and beyond dealt with issues facing wikis ( [1]). It was widely covered by the press, eg The Hindu( [2]), which cited the efforts of Bhadani (edit count), Sundar (leadership on Tamil Wikipedia) and Ganeshk (Creation of Ganeshbot to create articles on Indian towns from census figures). Ganeshk himself travelled from California to attend the conference.
  • Wikipedia Weekly 15: Wikipedia Weekly, a informal Wikipedians' program that purports to give "A weekly audio roundup of Wikipedia happenings with news, interviews and roundtable discussions" recently interviewed two prominent editors Rama's Arrow and Ragib( listen). The entire 34 minute interview was entirely about the world of Indian subcontinent wiki-happenings, and was the first episode which was not entirely dominated by discussion of wiki-politics and wiki-bureaucracy, with the host Witty lama praising the efficiency of the project and its proliferation of featured content. Rama's Arrow cited the team spirit, friendship and respect among project members in discussing its success and FA productivity, as well as discussing subcontinental wiki-conflict. Ragib talked also of his public campaign to raise awareness of the Bengali Wikipedia in his native Bangladesh, which has seen a 30-fold increase in article count over the past year.

WikiProject Actors and Filmmakers

Wikipedia:WikiProject Actors and Filmmakers has started but needs some effort to get all the components set up. ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Expecting you" Contribs 16:39, 7 April 2007 (UTC)

Hey

Hi there

How are you? Long time no Wiki :)

Just dropped by to request you to have a look at the SRK article's talk page, put up a few suggestions there which you might want to have a look at. Theres also a lot of stuff being added about his SFX company and what not, and I'd like to hear some editors' comments about that.

Apologies if this seems a little random, you're the only editor I've really worked with on the Bollywood pages (buzz Hrithik Roshan) and I was looking forward to your inputs.

Regards, xC | 16:34, 16 April 2007 (UTC)

I'm doing my best with the SRK article, and cracked my head open trying to get Zinta up. I got blocked while working on that article too, so I keep my space from Bollywood articles - do whatever can be done to help them out, but don't bother too much with it.
WP.INCINE is still heavily understaffed. And the ones there need a thorough grounding, as you said, in how an article should be written. Sigh The main problem of WP is the lag between a beginner editor dumping out a page, and it being formatted and taken care of to an acceptable level. The learning curve between these two levels usually prevents editors from ever making the leap. So they stick to the few articles they've made, create WP.OWN issues, have fights about it since they are atttached to it. And then we all vanish away into memory...
Guess my turn to apologize for rambling now... (:P) To be honest, I've found Bollywood and Tollywood articles a tremendous drain of resources. Meself, I've been working on other articles that might deserve attention.
My best wishes, and hope you have a prosperous new year! -xC- 05:07, 31 December 2007 (UTC)

As mentioned in Wikiproject India newsletter of March 2007, the weekly collaboration of the Indian wikiproject has fallen from its once high feats. This message is to request the users to visit the collaboration page and help rejuvenate it.

The present collaboration of the week is Religion in India. Please go through the talk page of the article to see the proposed changes in the article. Regards.-- Dwaipayan ( talk) 05:25, 17 April 2007 (UTC)

Okay!

Plumcouch just edited Rani Mukerji's page. You don't need to. Plus, images speak for thousand words. They are good references because sometimes what is written is gossip. Lastly, awards are a major part of one's career and decide how accomplished an actor really is. And if you do want to delete all of Rani's awards, I suggest you look at other Hollywood actor's pages first. Also consider Preity's page first which even has nomination. Alright. Thank you! - shez_15

Hello Ekantik, an automated process has found an image or media file tagged as nonfree media, such as fair use. The image ( Image:Zeecineaward.jpg) was found at the following location: User:Ekantik/Zee Cine Awards. This image or media will be removed per statement number 9 of our non-free content policy. The image or media will be replaced with Image:NonFreeImageRemoved.svg , so your formatting of your userpage should be fine. The image that was replaced will not be automatically deleted, but it could be deleted at a later date. Articles using the same image should not be affected by my edits. I ask you to please not re-add the image to your userpage and could consider finding a replacement image licensed under either the Creative Commons or GFDL license or released to the public domain. Please note that it is possible that the image on your page is included vie a template or usebox. In that case, please find a free image for the template or userbox. Thanks for your attention and cooperation. User:Gnome (Bot) -talk 08:36, 19 May 2007 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image (Image:Jaya_Bachchan.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Jaya_Bachchan.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the " my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. User:Gay Cdn (talk) (Contr) 22:23, 27 May 2007 (UTC)

Replaceable fair use Image:MKoirala.jpg

Replaceable fair use
Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:MKoirala.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{ di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that fair use images which could be replaced by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted 7 days after this notification, per our Fair Use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. – Quadell ( talk) ( random) 16:26, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

Preity Zinta FA

Hi there. The Preity Zinta article has recently achieved A-class status. Due to the wealth of support I have decided to now nominate for an FA class article which I believe and judging by the comments of others is pretty much up to. In my view it is better than some existing FA actor articles. I would therefore be very grateful if you could give it a final review in your own time and leave your comments and views at Wikipedia:Featured article candidates/Preity Zinta. Thankyou, your comments are always valuable. ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 10:57, 1 November 2007 (UTC)

Can you help?

Hi, I'd like to ask if you could step into a little situation I have here. It's been some months since I was last on Wikipedia and some things have changed around, so I don't know where and how to report this. I have a problem with a disruptive and uncivil editor who is harassing me with links to defamatory sites. After I removed a partisan and original research external link from the links section of Sathya Sai Baba, Kkrystian promptly began a mini-edit war which continued even after I explained to him on his talk page why said link was inadmissible. He continued to re-add this link but has stopped now as another editor has stepped in to seek consensus. If you ask me, there is no consensus to be sought since this issue was discussed at ArbCom and all editors agreed to leave it out do to its violation of WP:OR, WP:EL, and possibly more.

However, on a related article ( Sai Baba of Shirdi, Kkrystian has been removing reliably sourced information because he does not agree with it, stating that the words "violent" and "uncouth" is the author's POV and thus inadmissible. You can familiarise yourself with that discussion here and here. As Kkrystian has declared on his userpage that he is a devotee of Sathya Sai Baba (and by extension, Shirdi Sai Baba) in his real life, there may be conflict-of-interest issues here. Either way, it seems that editors generally agree that reliably-sourced references should not be removed. Kkrystian had been engaging in an edit war over that issue and was blocked for 24-hours over 3RR by yourself here. He refused to discuss the issue on his talk-page or on the article talk-page until after his block, preferring to explain his actions in edit summaries. But it appears that he hasn't learnt much from his 3RR block because he has begun indulging in personal attacks on me over at Talk:Sathya Sai Baba by way of posting URLS that happen to be defamatory against me and which include my surname in the URL title, as well as insinuating that I have ulterior motives for removing a link that is violating WP:EL and contributes nothing to the article.

After I informed Kkrystian on his talk page that he shouldn't be indulging in personal attacks here and that he shouldn't be revealing other people's personal information (even indirectly) here, he simply told me to "get lost". I even tried to refactor the discussion as per WP:RPA#External_links and WP:LINKLOVE here, but I noticed just now that he has restored this link here that is defamatory against me and which includes my surname in the URL title. He is clearly uncivil, personally attacking me in a hostile way, revealing my personal information, and harassing me without any provocation. Do you think that this issue could be treated with a block that I think, by all accounts, is well-deserved?

I left Wikipedia for several months because of all these harassment issues and, after feeling ready to return in the last few days or so, did not think I would have to face these types of unprovoked attacks so soon. Please help out, thanks. - Ekantik talk 19:46, 29 November 2007 (UTC)

Just by way of giving an update, it appears that after another editor tried to refactor the discussion whis displayed that defamatory link, Kkrystian reverted it back. I have also discovered that at Talk:Sai Baba of Shirdi he displays the same pattern of disruptive editing and removing reliably-sourced information simply because he does not like it. This is a clear case of tendentious editing I believe. Thanks, Ekantik talk 03:13, 30 November 2007 (UTC)
I'm not going to block him now. He has not made too many edits since the first block and there's not; I'll make a note of this on Kkrystian's talk page and then see what happens next. -- tariqabjotu 04:12, 30 November 2007 (UTC)
Fair enough. I notice that he continues to malign me on the talk-page here by continually displaying a shocking ignorance of WP policies with regards to acceptable source material, as well as making continual bad-faith assumptions on my part. That too, without any provocation and with every effort on my part to make him understand how to edit properly in accordance with WP policies. I'm about to put in a request for oversight regarding those URL-diffs but frankly speaking, his behaviour is becoming seriously unproductive and disrupting. Sorry to take up your time. Thanks, Ekantik talk 16:20, 30 November 2007 (UTC)
Hi there, sorry to bother you again. I'm afraid the guy just won't stop attacking. See here and here for some more examples. Apparently I am now getting accused (?) of stalking the guy when I am just editing related articles on the same subject (Sai Baba of Shirdi). And the second example is just an attack on constructive criticism regarding the availability of better sources. Is there anything you can do, he completely ignores all his warnings, please help, thanks, Ekantik talk 17:35, 1 December 2007 (UTC)

Andhranews = spam?

Hi there, I was just curious about this edit; is AndhraNews really going to be placed on the spam blacklist? May I ask why? Thanks, Ekantik talk 17:05, 6 December 2007 (UTC)

Please see this link Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard#Community ban of spammer. This site appears to have been a part of a spam campaign by someone closly related to the site. The site is being globally removed from all Wikis and then being placed on the spam blacklist. — Save_Us_ 229 17:12, 6 December 2007 (UTC)
Oh dear. Oh well. I can see how this may present a problem with regards to news references having to be replaced. But thankfully it seems that only one page on my watchlist had an andhranews reference (actual news) and I've already replaced it. I guess regular editors on other affected articles will have to do the same thing. Thanks for the quick response anyhow, Ekantik talk 17:35, 6 December 2007 (UTC)
Well if the news piece was as notable the first time it was added, it shouldn't be a problem to find a replacement reference, no? When it comes down to it, they have to be removed now rather than later. I'm willing to help start adding refs once this is removed, though. — Save_Us_ 229 17:42, 6 December 2007 (UTC)

Thanks

It is a matter of opinion which is the "best website" for Shirdi Sai Baba. I took a look at it and it didn't offer anything special that should be notable for an external link. The forum link is unsuitable for Wikipedia because Wikipedia does not link to forums. Hope that helps. Ekantik talk 02:58, 25 February 2007 (UTC)
Well yes. It just a mtter of opinion. You IGNORED this website which has lots of and dedicated contents on Sai Baba. Check out the other website listed in Sai Baba section.

Good work Apple Juggler I have come across you in page histories. Hey I've expanded Assamese cinema from a stub and got the first Assame film onto wikipedia Joymati. May need copy editing What do you think? I know the Assma film industry is not exactly rging but I feel a few films and details added as it is linked in the world cinema and Indian template! ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "I've been expecting you" 22:53, 17 March 2007 (UTC)

Wikiproject Actors and Filmakers

Hey see my proposals at Wikipedia:WikiProject Council/Proposals#Actor and Filmmakers and the main WP Film and Biography talk page. Know anybody who is interested? Actors and all film people articles need a body on wikipedia to upkeep them asthey need more focus -it would be a part of Biogrpahy and Film. If you are interested or know somebody who would be, please let them know and whether you think it is a good progession for the project or not. Please leave your views at the council or biogrpahy main talk page. THanks ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "I've been expecting you" 14:48, 19 March 2007 (UTC)

Hi Ekantik! You've put a LOT of effort on Shilpa Shetty. IMO you should now get it ready for Featured Article candidacy. You may consider to run it in WP:PR first. It's got good references, comprehensive. Suggestions in PR and FAC would definitely make the article an FA. Please try. Regards.-- Dwaipayan ( talk) 18:21, 21 March 2007 (UTC)

Thank you very much for your encouragement. I've already had a suggestion to get it nominated for GA first and I definitely intend it to reach FA-class, thank you for your encouragement. Ekantik talk 18:31, 21 March 2007 (UTC)

WikiProject India Newsletter: Volume II, Issue 2 - March 2007

Alright. Thank you! - shez_15

The FAC of Lage Raho... has started. Please drop by if you are interested. Regards.-- Dwaipayan ( talk) 06:40, 26 April 2007 (UTC)

HI hope you are well. I have begun ordering the Lists of Indian films - please can some people begin trying to help me complete them with the director/ cast details -I regard them as very important for Indian cinema .

Andhranews = spam?

Thanks

I see you are working hard on Sai Baba of Shirdi, and tried a DYK nomination for the article. But you know the rules of DYK, new or fivefold. I quite surprised that you are going on a wikibreak on the juncture when Sai Baba of Shirdi is coming closer and closer to FA (maybe be A), through your efforts. All the best with the article. -- Redtigerxyz ( talk) 06:51, 18 December 2007 (UTC)
