Please stop adding unsourced or poorly sourced content, as you did on Superfood. This violates Wikipedia's policy on verifiability. If you continue to do so, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Healthline is not a WP:MEDREV source; if you're going to edit nutrition and medical content on Wikipedia, become familiar with WP:MEDRS for choosing sources. An extended welcome

Hi EJohnL1985. Welcome to Wikipedia. I've added a welcome message to the top of this page that gives a great deal of information about Wikipedia. I hope you find it useful.

Additionally, I hope you don't mind if I share some of my thoughts on starting out as a new editor on Wikipedia: If I could get editors in your situation to follow just one piece of advice, it would be this: Learn Wikipedia by working only on non-contentious topics until you have a feel for the normal editing process and the policies that usually come up when editing casually. You'll find editing to be fun, easy, and rewarding. The rare disputes are resolved quickly and easily.

Working on biographical information about living persons is far more difficult. Wikipedia's Biographies of living persons policy requires strict adherence to multiple content policies, and applies to all information about living persons including talk pages.

If you have a relationship with the topics you want to edit, then you will need to review Wikipedia's Conflict of interest policy, which may require you to disclose your relationship and restrict your editing depending upon how you are affiliated with the subject matter. Regardless, editing in a manner that promotes an entity or viewpoint over others can appear to be detrimental to the purpose of Wikipedia and the neutrality required in articles.

Some topic areas within Wikipedia have special editing restrictions that apply to all editors. It's best to avoid these topics until you are extremely familiar with all relevant policies and guidelines.

I hope you find some useful information in all this, and welcome again. -- Hipal/Ronz ( talk) 16:05, 19 February 2020 (UTC) reply

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on User:EJohnL1985, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Contested deletion

This page is not unambiguously promotional, because the article simply talks about the facts related to Exel and their history, which have been retrieved from multiple sources. The page does not promote the company's products in any way, but only mentions them to inform readers of what the company does and who they are. This is all relevant information to include as part of Exel's history as there would have been various developments along the way. I have also come across similar pages to this one, where products and services have been mentioned and they still exist on Wikipedia. Therefore, I contest against removing the page as the language is factual and informative, rather than promotional. EJohnL1985 ( talk) 12:34, 26 February 2020 (UTC) reply

Are you aware of the rules on conflicts of interest? Deb ( talk) 13:23, 26 February 2020 (UTC) reply

Hi Deb, yes I'm familiar with the rules and have considered them during the editing. Thank you EJohnL1985 ( talk) 16:51, 28 February 2020 (UTC) reply

Reasons for deletion

Where do I begin? Creating an article on your user page is never a good idea, as it signals a conflict of interest before you even start. Although you felt that the article was not promotional, I and others felt that the wording was highly promotional in places, and that's why it was deleted. If you want to have a go at creating an article, this time following the Wikipedia guidelines, I recommend you do so in draft space and then submit it for review by more experienced editors. Speedy deletion nomination of EditExel Computer Systems

Hello EJohnL1985,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged EditExel Computer Systems for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly indicate why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

Hopefully you now understand why I recommended you to create the article in draft and get it reviewed before uploading. Did you notice that you also created it under the wrong title? Deb ( talk) 07:38, 12 March 2020 (UTC) reply
