Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, "WoodyThePimp", may not meet Wikipedia's username policy because it appears to reference prostitutes (‘the pimp’). If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. As an alternative, you may ask for a change of username by completing the form at Special:GlobalRenameRequest, or you may simply create a new account for editing. Thank you. ◇ Helen Degenerate◆ 00:07, 26 December 2022 (UTC) reply

Hello, I am WoodyThePimp. I did not know my name violated guidelines, I apologize! I've drafted my first page for a music album, but I don't know how to submit it to higher Wikipedians. How is this achieved? WoodyThePimp ( talk) 00:21, 26 December 2022 (UTC) reply
Add the following code to the top of the page: {{Template:AfC submission/draft}}. When you hit ‘publish’, it’ll produce a button for submitting the draft. Just push that button, follow the instructions it gives, and you’re good to go. ◇ Helen Degenerate◆ 00:36, 26 December 2022 (UTC) reply

Your recent editing history at Fit for a King (band) shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war; read about how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.   Aloha27  talk  00:56, 31 December 2022 (UTC) reply

Fit for a King

You are the one that should stop because Discogs is not reliable source, although it could be used for album credits, using it for notibility is not reliable. Stop changing band members section because their duties are based on the graph. "Lead vocals" serves for both unclean and clean vocals. If you cannot read through it and you don't know how it works, then you really shouldn't be on Wikipedia. The title of the song "Times Like This", "Like" is capitalized. Go through other songs of other artists and see it for yourself. Three other things: One, the redux version of Descendants is not count as another new album, so you don't need to add among the other six albums. It could be mentioned in separate sentence but that's it. Two, you don't need to add sources to charts, it's literally above the board. And three, it's important that in the introduction section the whole date of their recent album is mentioned, once a new album comes out, it could be changed as you did before. -- Tobi999tomas ( talk) 07:44, 31 December 2022 (UTC) reply

Alright, I thought it would be constructive to list the vocals as both clean and unclean since some readers may not be able to distinguish the categorization of "Lead Vocals". I am new to full editing and all I publish, I publish to contribute. I thought you might have been a troll, but I'm glad you have fully explained the situation. I do not wish to engage in an editing war and get us both blocked. Again, I was reporting because I was not aware whether you were a troll or not. Next time you edit something I've done be sure to let me know how to improve it or source it better, I'd love the constructive criticism to improve myself DarnItAll34 ( talk) 17:19, 31 December 2022 (UTC) reply
I wil say again. "Lead vocals" covers both "unclean vocals" and "clean vocals". Read it through the graph color and legend of it. We do this with a lot of bands because it is better to read this way. Adding both things at the same time just complicate it for the readers. And no, I am not a troll or a vandal. I've been on Wikipedia much longer than you buddy so I know what I am doing. Proper way to insert images in infoboxes

Hello @ DarnItAll34. I am @ Archer1234. I noticed your recent edit to Becoming the Archetype where you added an image to the infobox. I want to let you know that the way you added the image was not done according to Wikipedia's Manual of Style (see WP:INFOBOXIMAGE).

When adding an image to an infobox, thumbnails should NOT be used. Simply supplying the file name will work. For example, to use File:Image PlaceHolder.png, you can simply use |image=Image PlaceHolder.png. Captions should be specified with the |caption= parameter. Every infobox is different and the documentation for the infobox in question should be consulted for the proper parameters to match the image and caption.
To fix

Do not use the full image syntax:

|image=[[File:SomeImage.jpg|thumb|Some image caption]]

Instead, just supply the name of the image. So, in this case you can simply do:

|image=SomeImage.jpg

and optionally:

|caption=Some image caption.

Hopefully you will find this information useful for your future editing. If you have any questions about this, feel free to ask. — Archer1234 ( u· t· c) 02:09, 8 January 2023 (UTC) reply

Replaceable fair use File:Becoming the Archetype 2022.jpeg

Thanks for uploading File:Becoming the Archetype 2022.jpeg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{ Di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification, per the non-free content policy. I have been trying to upload a definitive picture of the band as they are currently. The only photos I can find originate from Facebook, which apparently doesn't fit criteria for the non-free policy. I would like assistance in finding recent images of the band to update their Wikipedia profile with, that DOES fit criteria. DarnItAll34 ( talk) 13:16, 18 June 2023 (UTC) reply
Most photos you find on the internet are copyrighted and not under a free license. You tried to upload an image as non-free content, but such images must meet all of the non-free content criteria. As an existing band, there is an expectation that a freely licensed image of the band could be made even if one does not currently exist, so any non-free image will almost certainly fails to meet WP:NFCC#1 (replaceability). You can continue searching the internet try to find a free image of the band. You might also try contacting the copyright holder of an image to see if they are willing to release the image under a free license. See Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. Otherwise, the article can continue without an image until a free image is created or found. -- Whpq ( talk) 13:24, 18 June 2023 (UTC) reply

The Incredibles

Hi, I understand and appreciate you would like to help edit Wikipedia so here are a few helpful pointers. Per the Manual of style, specifically section WP:FILMPLOT, film plot summaries are to be between 400-700 words and only contain the most essential information, not extraneous side details or extra, unnecessary descriptions of scenes play-by-play (which often can be considered editorials and not accurate). However, plot summaries are often the most messy/unencyclopedic parts of articles because of people not following these guidelines and treating it as a "Wiki Fandom" site article, where any and all details gain precedence over correct grammar/procedure/keeping it concise and to the point. If you are going to make major changes to a film plot article, as you did with The Incredibles, you are, of course, perfectly welcome to do so; however, to prevent possible reversion, it might be best to A) Make sure your edit meets said guidelines/is necessary, and B)See if there was any plot summary related discussions/debates in the talk page or the edit history. While most plot summaries are sporadically edited by anyone and everyone (Which is perfectly fine), some plot summaries have been extensively edited by many users in a short time span and if these edits were debated/argued in the edit histories or talk pages, it may mean the summary, as it stands, is the resolution of said debates/arguments. In which case it might be best to ask before making a major change to the article. I undid your recent edits, in light of both these factors, but if you think they need to be put back we can go over this on the article's talk page before either of us edits again so no edit war is started. Thanks! EEBuchanan ( talk) 16:08, 22 July 2023 (UTC) reply

I felt that there were a few details missing so I tried my best to follow guidelines. However, it seems that I was not deliberate enough. I have been a Wikieditior for about a year, and have created articles and other edits. I am still new to certain things, so stuff like this is very helpful to me.
By the way, Wikipedia is being weird and acting like I've never created an article as I was trying to make one, making my desired article a draft to be reviewed rather than immediate publication, as if I was new to it, which I am not. My first article, for Children of the Great Extinction, required to be a draft to be reviewed by staff but once it was approved, the message I got said I could now submit articles freely. But now that is not the case. Do you know anything about this and how to potentially fix it? DarnItAll34 ( talk) 13:42, 23 July 2023 (UTC) reply
Huh. That is weird. I don't know why it would have done that. Did you change your username or IP recently? That's the only thing I can think of. I would check with an admin if it keeps doing that, on the help page message board.

Thanks for your upload to Wikipedia:

You provided a source, but it is difficult for other users to examine the copyright status of the image because the source is incomplete or generic. Please consider clarifying the exact source so that the copyright status may be checked more easily. It is best to specify the exact source (such as the web page, or printed document) where you found the image, rather than only giving the source domain, search engine, pinboard, aggregator, or the direct/bare URL of the image file itself. Please update the image description with a URL that will be more helpful to other users in determining the copyright status.

Notice

The article Back Again (2003 album) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

There are not, when there would have to be, multiple sources containing significant coverage for the subject to be notable per WP:NALBUM or WP:GNG; none of the other NALBUM criteria are met

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. — Alalch E. 15:39, 23 August 2023 (UTC) reply

Hello. Basically this article which you created contained Discogs, Last.fm, and Reader-submitted reviews as references, but that is WP:UGC which means that it isn't valid sourcing. The Jesusfreakhideout and NewReleaseToday reviews were actually reader/user created and are not professional reviews or real works of music journalism in any sense. There's more information about that in my edit summaries: [1], [2]. It's best not to use such sources. Now that the bad sources have been removed there are so few sources and and so little verifiable information left that the topic stops seeming like a suitable topic for inclusion and I have proposed deletion. Sincerely — Alalch E. 15:48, 23 August 2023 (UTC) reply

Yeah, I keep waiting and hoping for a good source to pop up. But if this is the way it's going, just delete it DarnItAll34 ( talk) 16:44, 23 August 2023 (UTC) reply

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. Hello! Voting in the 2023 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 11 December 2023. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2023 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{ NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery ( talk) 00:37, 28 November 2023 (UTC) reply

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;

If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing.

Hello DarnItAll34. Please do not add or re-insert unsourced genres, as you did here. I'm aware you created the article for Veritas, but these genres do not have explicit citation on the page.

Stop icon This is your only warning; if you make personal attacks on others again, as you did at Rated R (Red album), you may be blocked from editing without further notice. Comment on content, not on other contributors or people. Attacks of a nature which insult someone's intelligence is not tolerated here, let alone your ignorance of genre policy. User-generated reviews such as the ones listed at Rate Your Music and that particular Sputnikmusic link are forbidden on Wikipedia, and the community reached a consensus that Cryptic Rock is not a reliable publication. dannymusiceditor oops 03:57, 3 November 2023 (UTC) reply

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;

If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. 2601:5CC:8300:A7F0:408B:1C44:B1DF:35D4 ( talk) 03:49, 7 November 2023 (UTC) reply

You will be blocked if you blank that article again. The sources are not "corrupted," whatever that means. OhNoitsJamie Talk 15:20, 7 November 2023 (UTC) reply

Veritas (P.O.D.)

Is there a reason why you did not ask at WP:RM to have Draft:Veritas (P.O.D. album) moved to Veritas (P.O.D. album)? -- Jax 0677 ( talk) 01:08, 4 May 2024 (UTC) reply

for some reason it said Veritas Veritas already had a redirect established despite not finding one, I couldn't figure out how to reconfigure it, I'd appreciate some help with that DarnItAll34 ( talk) 01:11, 4 May 2024 (UTC) reply
  • Reply - Music albums which have the same name as those by other artists are usually entitled "Title (Artist album)". A request should have been made at WP:RM to have the draft moved to the correct title. -- Jax 0677 ( talk) 22:46, 5 May 2024 (UTC) reply

Please do not add unsourced genres

Hello DarnItAll34. Please do not add or re-insert unsourced genres, as you did here. I'm aware you created the article for Veritas, but these genres do not have explicit citation on the page. P.O.D. as a band may broadly be considered those genres, but we need reliable sources stating that Veritas is those genres per WP:EXPLICITGENRE. Thank you. Ss 112 17:10, 10 May 2024 (UTC) reply

Thanks for the heads up, I'll try to source them properly DarnItAll34 ( talk) 19:06, 10 May 2024 (UTC) reply
