The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like South East Asia, Japan/China or India etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Asian content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon which has produced near 200 articles in just three days. If you would like to see this happening for Asia, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! Hello, I'm Zackmann08. Thank you for your recent contributions to Nigerian Television Authority. I noticed that when you added the image to the infobox, you added it as a thumbnail. In the future, please do not use thumbnails when adding images to an infobox (see WP:INFOBOXIMAGE). What does this mean? Well in the infobox, when you specify the image you wish to use, instead of doing it like this:

|image=[[File:SomeImage.jpg|thumb|Some image caption]]

Instead just supply the name of the image. So in this case you can simply do:

|image=SomeImage.jpg.

There will then be a separate parameter for the image caption such as |caption=Some image caption. Please note that this is a generic form message I am leaving on your page because you recently added a thumbnail to an infobox. The specific parameters for the image and caption may be different for the infobox you are using! Please consult the Template page for the infobox being used to see better documentation. Thanks! • Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.

I saw that you removed my external wiki links on flash fiction. Instead of using an external link, I was wondering if there was another way to link the infographic located here. I will advise you to go through Wikipedia introduction pages and External links guidlines to acquaint yourself with policies and guidelines that will help you in your stay here. If the external link is the problem, then I can supply the infographic alone with no external link. I did not know how to provide the required infographic without linking it. You recently put a message on my Talk Page regarding Christina Crawford. I work for Open Road Media, and these changes were made directly by Christina as she sent me a list of exact changes make. She does not know how to use Wikipedia, and has assigned me to make these changes. This is not a conflict of interest. I am her representative, and she has every right to make sure the information on her page is accurate. Unless you'd rather have Wikipedia be inaccurate, which I do believe is the complete opposite of its purpose.

Hi, @ JacobAllgeier: Thank you for your inquiry. First, Wikipedia and its content like article Christina Crawford can be edited by anyone in a neutral point of view and not even she (Christina Crawford) herself, can dictate what and what not be written about her.

Yes she has right to make sure what's written about her is accurate as you said, but not only that, it must be verifiable, balanced and neutral also. Quite often 'accurate' can be subjective, what seems accurate to her may not be so in independent sources; it's very hard for her to write about herself in objective manner, that's human nature.

But if she see anything libelous, clearly private information or defamatory remark she can contact the oversight team here or directly email ( oversight-en-wp@wikipedia.org)o give details and ask for its removal and they'll surely act by removing it completely from Wikipedia. Thank you for explaining this to me and the rules and regulations around this. Could you please let me know which ""exact"" changes we made to Christina's page that will need to be verified? In most cases, I'm sure Christina and I can locate a source. So much inaccurate information has been put out throughout the internet about Christina in light of Mommie Dearest being published, and even if these changes we want to make seem to be cosmetic, they are important to uphold Christina's reputation.

Let me give you one exact example. In this edits you added a paragraph thus:

"In 2000, Christina began working as Entertainment Manager for the CDA Casino and left in 2007. She then wrote and produced an award-winning regional TV series, Northwest Entertainment."

You see this claim, is sourceless, questionable and likely to be challenged because we don't know whether she's truly the one who wrote and produced the series, and even whether the series truly won any award. Because there's no sources given for every Wikipedia reader to verify, and Verifiability is one of the core Wikipedia policies.

Get me right, I don't say you're lying, or denying your claim, but contesting your inability to provide verifiable ource. NOTE: Your comment in edit summary, claiming that the article subject ordered the edit is neither reliable nor acceptable, because anyone can change anything and claim he was asked to by the article subject. For acceptable sources of content on Wikipedia you can read this: ( Reliable sources).

Hi! I just reverted a pending edit at June 14 made by ObeyPacked and found you had reverted an edit from that account at September 22. I left an explanation of why I reverted the June 14 edit because I assumed good faith and assumed that ObeyPacked did not read the instructions in the edit window. My understanding of vandalism is that it is not failure to read instructions. Well, ObeyPacked will be on my watch list for a while—I'll check future contributions for a week or so. I notice ObeyPacked left off editing after the notes appeared on their talk page—could be they read what we wrote. I try not to use templates. I check edits slowly anyway, so writing a custom message each time furthers my understanding without greatly extending the time I spend. I find one of the difficulties in working on Wikipeda is building good working relationships since we rarely meet face-to-face. By the way, I grew up on a farm in Georgia (U.S.) in the 1950s, but ended up working in TV news, covering events in other countries quite a bit. Now, for that issue, I read the article entirely and believe it is balanced, but removing the section as you did may suggest WP:COI, since you don't call for removal of things that flatter him. You also failed to reorganize or clean up the section, you just want outright expunging.

Preface: I'm new to arguing reversions, so my apologies if protocol says that I should be doing this on Talk:Fula people instead.

To take your reverts one at a time:

I) The image of the two people was captioned "Fulani woman and man from West Africa". This is factually true, but the original photos are more specific in their captioning. The photo of the woman specifically places her in Niger and the one of the man is tagged with "Nigeria". If the photos were of someone from Madrid and Paris, captioning the photo as being of two people "from Europe" would be factually true, but intellectually misleading.

II) For the geographical origin of the Fula, I understand what you're saying about not synthesizing, but if synthesizing is out of bounds then the current phrasing is also incorrect. They are not "They are generally considered to be North African or Middle eastern in origin, at least partially." Danver (the first cite) says they are "A blend of peoples from the Middle East, North Africa, and sub-Saharan Africa . . ." As for Morel, I can go into more detail on his unreliability, but suffice it to say that the text shouldn't be used here at all. Morel relies on speculation based on circumstantial similarities between European anecdotes of Fula life and histories of ancient Egypt where he doesn't rely on discredited 19th century pseudoscience like craniometry. Skutsch says on the one hand that nobody really knows and on the other that the Fula themselves have an oral tradition of originating in Egypt or the Middle East, but so do lots of West African Muslim groups.

In short (too late!) the two responsible citations say that a) it's unclear, b) the Fula themselves claim Egypt but without evidence, and c) evidence suggests intermarrying among people from many places.

How about "They consider themselves to be originally from Egypt or the Middle East, as do many Muslim people of West Africa. Modern scholars believe them to have no single origin but rather to be a mix of peoples from the Middle East, North Africa, and Sub-Saharan Africa."

III) For their whiteness, this is not a neutral claim, so perhaps it shouldn't be in the article at all. Claiming whiteness for a people in West Africa, in the context of the colonial era, is claiming superiority for those people, regardless of what the person making the claim wants. Al Hajj Sékou Tall claims whiteness, but that is not the same as "Known as one of the three 'white'-rooted ethnic groups in West Africa". Juang says nothing about them being white. Wise relates that some people do not consider them Black and some mock them as not-Black, but in the context of this statement: "There is, of course, a long history of various ethnic groups in Northwest Africa asserting their alleged 'chosen' or unique status, especially to empower themselves at the expense of their rivals." And he later writes, ". . . social dramas surrounding issues of blood, nobility, divind election, and the maternal debt are among the most enduring themes of the cultural documents of Northwest Africa." This is part of what I mean by this claim not being neutral. I'd much rather strike this sentence entirely than try to rewrite it.

IV) Finally, about the early speculations around their origins, again it's not a neutral topic. The speculations began because the Europeans saw the darker-skinned people as subhuman or at least uncivilized. Finding an origin of a lighter-skinned people in the north or in the Middle East legitimized working more with those people to subjugate and enslave darker-skinned Africans. Here again, Morel is not a reliable source. Also, the phrase as it stands erroneously condenses Morel. Morel relates Hanno's account, says that Pliny mentions Leucæthiopes (but does not say whether Pliny and Hanno are saying the same thing about the same people), and then talks about the Tarikh al-Sudan from 800 years later. The sentence as it stands collapses all these into a statement from Pliny. In short (too late again!) a) there's no point to talking about whether the Fula are 'white' since that's an incredibly complex and contested concept and b) the sentence as it stands is incorrect. Perhaps here again we would be better off just striking the sentence beginning "In 1902".

According to Asia's Next Top Model (cycle 5), she's 24 years old. So how is it possible that Minh Tu was born in November 14, 1993? If that's the case, her stated age in Asia's Next Top Model should be 23 instead of 24.

At the time of the filming of Asia's Next Top Model, Cycle 5, Minh Tu was already 24, and the filming was in 2016.

@ 139.193.93.93: No problem, you're welcome. The Wikipedia article Asia's Next Top Model (cycle 5) says she is 24 in 2016 (start of contest) that will inferentially means she was born 2016-24=1992. But Wikipedia article is not reliable source and cannot be used to justify 1992 in the article Nguyễn Minh Tú; that would result in " Circular reference" which is not acceptable in Wikipedia referencing.

If you look at the article Nguyễn Minh Tú, in the first line there's a citation wich give the source of the age in full like this ( 14 November 1993), then citation follows.

2. It's not my responsibility (or any editor) to google source for you. The burden of proof is on you to give reliable source that can refute the one you met in the article (and do not give Wikipedia article as a source) it is unreliable. Ponyo; actually I am very strict and cautious in accepting pending changes as check in Advanced Review Log will show. When I reviewed that page, I initially had the thought of rejecting it, but I accept on two grounds. First; it is not libelous or defamatory (the redline of WP about BLPs) and second my milieu and what I know in international scene is that most actresses are also producers and vice versa. However this second reason I know is limited and relative. Nonetheless, I heed the call, no more unsourced or poorly sourced content will get in through me, especially on BLPs. I assure you. You're not removing the source content because it is not true, but because (in your own view) it makes the biography less professional, Wikipedia, is not for 'professional advertising' it is for what is ' verifiable'. I said it is unconstructive because you just expunged sourced content and claim it is odd, and it makes your family member biography less professional which is very lame reason.

In all these instances I replaced both image size where it exist, caption and alternative text, except if I forget, since I am Human. And where I forget, the appropriate thing is for you to fix them, not wait for me.

Also let me explain one thing to you.Most fixed image sizes, are only seen as such by non-logged users. Logged users see images according to their preferences on any page.

Hello Ammarpad, I see you have given a new user a rather stern warning and did not assume good faith. By checking out his first edit, you can see that he did not appear to be a simple numbers vandal, and this is why I only asked him to provide the sources he used (not 'warning him'). With minimal further effort, I have now found an official source and the new population numbers match Radekeo's changes. The original article numbers were in fact the provisional 2006 census results that although accessed in May 2017, date back to a 2007 document. So, Radekeo has provided more accurate and updated info here, although still from 2006. Perhaps you may wish to visit his user talk page and make up the misunderstanding.

Welcome @ Loopy30: apology for belated reply. I know that all these figures and estimates are generally not up to date, but one thing important is that to keep the known though outdated figure with its source is the best thing. Say for instance 2006 population figures, though we know they are all outdated we can't start updating all articles with new unsourced or made up figures of say 2016 or 17. Thank you for finding the source, I may have done that but generally and logically in Wikipedia per WP:UNSOURCED and in the real word, the burden of proof is on the person who introduces claim or adds content to prove it. There is no obligation on me or (any editor) to find source for figures somebody is adding. But I am obliged (and all editors) to removed them since they are sourceless.
