Stats in football players' infoboxes

Hi, when you update the stats in football players' infoboxes please remember that you should also update the |pcupdate= (or |club-update=) parameter. This shows when the stats were last updated and prevents editors from accidentally updating the stats again. Thank you. -- Jaellee ( talk) 07:13, 3 March 2015 (UTC) reply

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited 2015 CONCACAF U-17 Championship, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages José Rodríguez and Luis Arias. computer live scores are behind live video

But still in the table you put Dortmund as 3-0 winners and that City beat barca and did not add aggregate score and winner. Also incorrect update of goal parameter and your first edit was too soon. QED237  (talk) 21:42, 18 March 2015 (UTC) reply

That was a mistake I thought the score had to be lined up with the home first and away second. Also I was getting to the other information. I'll just let you edit it if you are going to be picky.

Excuse me? That's not true, I updated it after it ended, I just didn't notice the very late goal and I would correct it quick were not your constant edit conflict. The Replicator ( talk) 20:48, 7 September 2015 (UTC) reply

How do you not notice a goal in stoppage time. You shouldn't hit save page until whatever site your using says the game is final, live scoring is not allowed. AllSportsfan16 ( talk) 20:51, 7 September 2015 (UTC) reply

In case you don't know, UEFA matchcentre removes the yellow shade when the match is over. I updated after that. Then on the same moment I identified my mistake and I couldn't revert it as soon as I could because of your edit conflict. The Replicator ( talk) 20:58, 7 September 2015 (UTC) reply

No, I did not know that. Also you're not the only one editing I saw a mistake and then I proceeded to fix it. AllSportsfan16 ( talk) 21:03, 7 September 2015 (UTC) reply

But my point is not about you fixing my mistake, I have no problem in acknowledging my mistakes, the point is that you accused me of live updating, which is not the case. The Replicator ( talk) 21:07, 7 September 2015 (UTC) reply

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Information icon Please do not introduce incorrect information into articles, as you did to Fabian Johnson. Your edits could be interpreted as vandalism and have been reverted. If you believe the information you added was correct, please cite references or sources or discuss the changes on the article's talk page before making them again. If you would like to experiment, use the sandbox. Thank you. -- Jaellee ( talk) 16:56, 14 February 2016 (UTC) reply

Not sure who you think you are. I was updating Fabian Johnson's statistics, he scored a goal today and according to the time stamp his stats haven't been updated in a while. So I would appreciate it if you don't undo correct edits. AllSportsfan16 ( talk) 17:00, 14 February 2016 (UTC) reply

I'm an editor who is interested in correct stats. You just added a goal (and strangely without an appearance), did not update the totals and did not update the time stamps. With so many errors this is it bold to claim that your edits were "correct edits". -- Jaellee ( talk) 17:31, 14 February 2016 (UTC) reply

I've edited many different sports articles on wikipedia. I was in the process of updating the statistics. I didn't realize that they were so out of date. So I took a couple of minutes to look up the stats and then I was going to add them. If you look at the time stamp it had only been a couple minutes. I added the goal and then noticed that the number of appearances was not even close to correct, it was off by several numbers. Anyways next time you don't have to undo the edit just keep updating the statistics. AllSportsfan16 ( talk) 19:25, 14 February 2016 (UTC) reply

Unfortunately there are a lot of editors which only selectively update the statistics (mostly adding a goal immediately after a player scored). They never calculate the totals or update the time stamp and generally make a mess of the statistics table. I usually revert such edits on sight. I'm sorry if you got caught in the process, but your edit was not really correct and I did not at the time stamp to see how old that edit was. -- Jaellee ( talk) 18:26, 15 February 2016 (UTC) reply

I'm not sure what you're talking about. Manchester City qualified for the champions league, it was impossible for Man United to catch them. AllSportsfan16 ( talk) 23:08, 17 May 2016 (UTC) reply

@ AllSportsfan16: There's a difference between highly unlikely and impossible, you know. The Replicator ( talk) 23:35, 17 May 2016 (UTC) reply
Theoretically they had not qualified and you even admitted it yourself, how unlikely it may be but Manchester United still had a chance to qualify. Qed237  (talk) 23:44, 17 May 2016 (UTC) reply
A year ago people said it would be impossible for Leicester City to win Premier League, but it still happened. Qed237  (talk) 23:45, 17 May 2016 (UTC) reply

Ok I won't do it in the future, but I think you can be realistic. I'm sure Man City thought they were in the Champions league qualifying round once the whistle blew to finish their game on Sunday. AllSportsfan16 ( talk) 23:46, 17 May 2016 (UTC) reply

  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button ( or ) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

I went ahead and added the template "Unsigned" to your comments in the Articles for Deletion discussion. Invite to the African Destubathon

Hi. You may be interested in participating in the African Destubathon which starts on October 15. Africa currently has over 37,000 stubs and badly needs a quality improvement editathon/contest to flesh out basic stubs. There are proposed substantial prizes to give to editors who do the most articles, and planned smaller prizes for doing to most destubs for each of the 53 African countries, so should be enjoyable! So it would be a good chance to win something for improving stubs on African sportspeople, including footballers, athletes, Olympians and Paralympians etc, particularly female ones, but also male. Even if contests aren't your thing we would be grateful if you could consider destubbing a few African articles during the drive to help the cause and help reduce the massive 37,000 + stub count, of which many are rated high importance (think Regions of countries etc). If you're interested in competing or just loosely contributing a few expanded articles on African Paralympians, Olympians and committees etc, please add your name to the Contestants/participants section. Diversity of work from a lot of people will make this that bit more special. Thanks. -- MediaWiki message delivery ( talk) 21:13, 6 October 2016 (UTC) reply

AllSportsfan16, just a friendly reminder to try to do proper referencing and citations for sources. If you have to reference several points in the article, you need to put a reference name, and that way we don't have multiple references in the reference list. Please try to put the name of your sources and dates, and not just paste the url or weblinks. Hope for your understanding. DrFargi ( talk) 06:04, 6 November 2016 (UTC) reply

We noticed though that when you edited United States men's national under-23 soccer team, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Chicago Fire. Information icon Hello, I'm Qed237. I noticed that you made an edit concerning content related to a living (or recently deceased) person on Gedion Zelalem, but you didn’t support your changes with a citation to a reliable source, so I removed it. Wikipedia has a strict policy concerning how we write about living people, so please help us keep such articles accurate. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. QED237  (talk) 23:06, 13 May 2015 (UTC) reply

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. At least one of your recent edits, such as the edit you made to 2015–16 Premier League, did not appear to be constructive and has been reverted or removed. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to Wikipedia, please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at the welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. If you only meant to make some test edits, please use the sandbox for that. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. Qed237  (talk) 16:09, 29 August 2015 (UTC) I have to disagree with you. I left a message on your page but I forgot log in. Let me repeat you can not choose to show no flags on only the premier league page. Basically all the other leagues show flags. Nowhere does it say flags should not be used. They've historically been used for years and are used with all other leagues reply

Hi, I see you are updating the results before I can see that the matches has ended. What is the source and how to you follow the matches so you can see result so quickly? Qed237  (talk) 22:18, 4 September 2015 (UTC) reply

I'm watching them live using different streaming websites and when the whistle blows I post the result. AllSportsfan16 ( talk) 22:41, 4 September 2015 (UTC) reply

UEFA Euro 2016 qualifying Group F

Okay I acknowledge you weren't live scoring. AllSportsfan16 ( talk) 21:12, 7 September 2015 (UTC) reply

Thank you. Next time I will check it yet again. The Replicator ( talk) 21:14, 7 September 2015 (UTC) reply

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election.

Warning icon Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, as you did at 2016–17 UEFA Champions League, you may be blocked from editing. Qed237  (talk) 20:44, 17 May 2016 (UTC) reply

Information icon Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or

It is very important that you remember to sign your comments, particularly in a deletion discussion. I also bulleted and indented your comments, as that it makes it easier for other participants to follow the flow of the discussion. Thanks. Safiel ( talk) 14:51, 2 October 2016 (UTC) reply

Citing Sources

AllSportsfan16, here's a link to help you with doing proper referencing - Wikipedia:Citing sources as you are adding lots of polls for the following article - Statewide opinion polling for the United States presidential election, 2016. If you need any clarification, please message me. DrFargi ( talk) 08:27, 28 October 2016 (UTC) reply
