Information icon Hello, I'm Baden-Paul. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to Opener BlackFly have been undone because they did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you have any questions, you can ask for assistance at the Teahouse. Thanks. Baden-Paul ( talk) 03:42, 1 August 2021 (UTC) reply

If this is a shared IP address, and you did not make the edits referred to above, consider creating an account for yourself or logging in with an existing account so that you can avoid further irrelevant notices.

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Deviating from this style, as you did in Douglas C-124 Globemaster II, disturbs uniformity among articles and may cause readability or accessibility problems. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. BilCat ( talk) 01:17, 19 November 2021 (UTC) reply

@ BilCat: — Please explain your reason for repeatedly reverting valid edits to reinstate spelling and punctuation errors in the article. It appears your activities in this regard on Wikipedia are not helpful. If you are unable to tell the difference between good writing and poor writing, please consider taking time out to attend some college classes to improve your writing and English language skills. I will make no further edits to the article; it now stands as a reflection of your writing abilities, or sad lack thereof. 174.87.179.155 ( talk) 17:11, 19 November 2021 (UTC) reply
Less than a third of your edits were correct or even necessary. Many of them were correcting redirects that did not need to be changed, or spelling out words that were fine as abbreviations, or vice versa. For example, you changed [[Berlin Airlift]] to [[Berlin Blockade|Berlin Airlift]]. The Berlin Airlift redirect links to a specific section on the Berlin Blockade article, which your piping disables. Per WP:NOPIPE, this isn't recommended, especially as an article on the Berlin Airlift could be created in the future. A few of your other changes were to styles that are optional on Wikipedia, and shouldn't be changed simply because you don't prefer that style. I will try to restore the correct corrections sometime today. Finally, If you're going to continue to edit Wikipedia, you need to take the time to learn the "house style", which is called the Wikipedia Manual of Style. Because Wikipedia is edited by editors from many different countries, some of the items in the MOS may differ from the English variety you're used to, or may be different from any grammar book or publisher's house style because of things related to Wikipedia's software or other considerations. In addition, articles about topics related to English-speaking countries generally follow the grammar and spelling of that country which can also cause confusion. There's a lot to learn on Wikipedia, and it takes time and patience. But it csn also be very rewarding. The choice is up to you. BilCat ( talk) 22:52, 19 November 2021 (UTC) reply
