Hello Untileveryoneisfree. Thank you for your recent contributions, however I must ask you again to please slow down and consider our policies before contributing further, since there are numerous issues with some of your recent contributions. Some examples:
Such is the rate of your additions, that it is difficult to keep up, especially when you revert attempt to copy-edit your work. I am aware that previous accounts of yours has Doingwhatwikitellsme ( talk · contribs), Untileverycageisempty ( talk · contribs) and Untilallarefree ( talk · contribs) because "your editing itself is highly problematic" and "You are engaging in advocacy". This means you are using another account to evade a block and are could be blocked again. That is not my goal, but you really need to heed the advice offered to you in all of those accounts: slow down, read up on policy and beware of advocacy. Thanks. Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Flamcircus.gif. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the " my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. Hi, there has been some discussion about your edits on the Animal rights WikiProject here, and I offered to have a word with you about our policies, if it would help.
We have three key content policies:
If you stick very closely to these three principles, you should be fine, but they're harder to adhere to than they sound. This is particularly the case with animal rights, because there are lots of editors on Wikipedia who have strong feelings against the subject, and who will challenge edits that otherwise might not be challenged. That means you have to be particularly careful, make sure that everything supported, and write about it in a disinterested tone, sticking closely to what the sources say.
I think some of the problems with your edits have been that you're using ALF-related websites and Indymedia to document ALF actions, but this is what we call "unverifiable," meaning that we have no independent source to tell us that these things actually happened, or that any source other than the activists felt it was worth writing about.
For that reason, WP:V requires us to provide a source that's independent of the ALF. That doesn't mean the ALF can't be used as a source too. It can, in articles about its own actions. But we also need another source e.g. a mainstream newspaper, to tell us "Yes, this happened, and yes, someone other than the ALF thinks it's notable enough to write about."
As for the images, we've already been in correspondence with a spokesperson for the ALF on this issue, and have been told that all images taken in the name of the ALF are automatically released into the public domain. If that's what your images are, then the best tag is {{PD-author}}, then explain on the image page that all images taken on behalf of the ALF are public domain.
If you want me to explain more, I'd be very happy to, so feel free to contact me on my talk page or by e-mail -- slimvirgin at gmail dot com. Cheers, SlimVirgin (talk) (contribs) 12:18, 19 February 2008 (UTC)
