It seems that the source for http://ko-kr.facebook.com/pages/Ground-Zero/105583606142548 was in fact the former version of Ground Zero (band). I've had this before: you create an article as a split-off from another one and you can get a red-alert for copyright due to wikipedia mirrors. In any case, I was just making sure Ground Zero (band) wasn't about two different bands at once. I hadn't thought to check the quality of material that Neatguy had been entering. Chris's page was lacking refs when it was taken down last time. It has over 30 sources - to article in scholarly magazines from Oxford University - Science and Spirit - and much more. I don't see why he is not notable as an American Journalist? I really hope this is not a political issue. Because he is an American Expatriate who wrote for the Moscow Times, he has been attacked on this site before. It would be nice if this could be further discussed. Thanks.

There are a couple of issues. Wikipedia frowns on articles written by anyone associated with the subject of the article. Basically it is hard to maintain independence when creating an article about something one is associated with. See WP:COI. The copyright issue is taken care of a couple of ways: The article can be rewritten in one's own words; the original text can be published under a license compatible with Wikipedia, (see WP:CC-BY-SA and WP:GFDL); or the text can be donated to Wikipedia. By far the easiest way is to rewrite the material in one's own words; however, care needs to be taken to adequately reformulate the text so it is not recognizable as the original. This book is notable due to the wide popularity in the public school system through Reading Across America and the wide reception the book recieved through Smart Duck Storybooks. This book has been adopted as a study material by homeschool programs in California and North Carolina. It looks to me that the MySpace page (which I believe is just about the band, not sponsored by them; see the band's official MySpace page) was copied from Wikipedia, rather than the other way around. The MySpace page says the user has been a member since 4/11/2008, and versions of this Wikipedia page from before that date resemble the MySpace page, so Wikipedia couldn't have copied from the MySpace page at issue. Welcome to Wikipedia! Article typically have to meet the minimum criteria for them to survive. Articles have to establish notability using reliable sources. Not "real-world" notability, but Wikipedia notability. In this case notability is defined by WP:BIO. A couple of things, I only nominated the article for deletion. That nomination was reviewed by an admin and they agreed because the nomination was valid they deleted it. No one said the text was stolen, only that it was a copy of text that existed elsewhere.

I photographed him at a show in St Louis. I am also his webdesigner and the original photo you deleted was from artwork I did on his site. This issue is that the picture is copyrighted on the site mentioned. You need to send an e-mail to OTRS asserting ownership of the image. Unfortunately, there is no way to determine if the image was released (along with ownership) to the site mentioned. Since the a copyright symbol is not required to copyright a published text, its removal will not absolve the copyright. Basically all text published since March 1, 1989 need not have a symbol to be copyrighted. The fasted way would be to replace with an unpublished image. ttonyb ( talk) 22:03, 18 June 2010 (UTC)

Hey, just dropping by to say you might want to be a little less trigger happy with your A1s/A3s (no content and no context). I don't normally deal with them, but one crossed my path where you might have been a little hasty with the tag. In general, there's no harm in leaving it there for an hour or two to see if the creator does anything with it because if someone's first ever edit is deleted, they might not be so enthusiastic about returning. Regarding the page for Kevin Lau please be aware that Singapore news does get archived and taken off the net so its harder for Google to find. I did not delete it, I nominated it for deletion, the nomination was reviewed by an admin, and then deleted by them. The article was deleted because it failed to show notability for the individual per WP:BIO or WP:ENT using reliable sources. Hi, I saw that you adjusted many references in the article. I'm wondering what the difference is between the format you have used and the format I had originally used. Was my format incorrect? If so, what was incorrect? I ask because I see very little distinction between the original reference format that I used and the revised format that you created. I appreciate your help on this issue.

Also, how do I get the spam marked for speedy deletion tag removed. I added a "hangon" tag on the article, but it was removed by someone. Does this removal put my article at greater risk of being deleted before these reference and notibility issues are worked out? Should I retype the "hangon" tag into my VIASPACE article? The reason I changed the format was it allowed me to use Reflinks to combine multiple entries into single lines. Neither format is incorrect, but it was faster to use Reflinks to reformat them.

There is no need for a {{ hangon}} tag, the article is not in danger of deletion. There still is some concern that the article is somewhat spam-like in nature. I would review the section on Spam, revise the article (if necessary), and list your response to the Spam tag in the talk page. In addition to nominating it you also blanked the page, and consequently I was just wondering if there is any reason why you did this for that article, if you do this for all such articles, and if I should do it to other such articles I see in the future.
