Tiptoety, you are a committed editor here, with an impressive record, and you really have the qualities to be an admin, in fact I can't understand why you aren't. Age should not be a barrier, since we have had 13 and 14-yo admins already. If you think you can take the heat, why don't you go for it? I would support you all the way. -- Rodhullandemu ( Talk) 01:30, 17 January 2008 (UTC)
Again, I'm astonished, since I last saw your latest post in WP:ANI]. It is, to me, sad that when it comes to an RfA, it seems to be numbers that matter more than attitude or ability. Your attitude is what matters, but an RfA seems to be geared towards numbers, and that is why I suggested yesterday that you should address that issue. It has been suggested to me that I should go for admin myself, but to be honest, I would not feel happy about a self-nomination. Sadly, there are some people who think that that is self-aggrandisement, but I suspect that they really imagine that being an admin is only about wielding power; and, of course, it isn't. It is more about commitment to the values of the project than anything else, and the "big stick" of course comes with a responsibility to "speak softly". As I say, you would be a good admin when the time comes, and it won't be long; and I'll gladly support you. Regards, -- Rodhullandemu ( Talk) 04:53, 19 January 2008 (UTC)
Howdy to WikiProject Oregon members, time for another edition of the Collaboration of the Week. As you may have already noticed, our flagship article Oregon is up for the third time as we make a push to get WP:GA status before going for WP:FA. Since this will take some time to get where it needs to be, this will be the COTW for more than just a week. Also, so we hopefully don’t trip over ourselves, try to coordinate on the article’s talk page. Once again, to opt out or suggest future collaborative efforts, click here.
On another note, just a general good job/pat on the back to the project for a great 2007, the first full year of the project. We had 83 DYKs about Oregon, improved one article to FA, and went from around 4 GAs to 17 GAs. Plus numerous new articles, improvements to existing, the introduction of the COTW, and the introduction of article assessment at the project. Again, great job and here’s to a new year. Yesterday, 2008-01-24, I added a request for creation of an article on a sofware title called MagicDisc. You have denied the request and referred me to the notability guidelines.
What I do not understand is the difference between this specific piece of software, which actually has been referred to in Wikipedia article http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_ISO_image_software and does have an "empty" article, and similar competitors. As I had written in my request for creation, if an article on the Daemon-Tools Suite is "encyclopedic" so is an article on MagicDisc.
Moreover, my request article was in a rather unbiased tone similar to many other articles on software products already present on Wikipedia.
As for the notability bit, this piece of software is quite as "notable" as any other software with a purpose, e.g. Microsoft Windows, Winamp, the Bourne Again Shell, the C Shell, OpenBSD, IBM z/OS, Dilo web browser, Mozilla FireFox, PuTTY, the OpenSSH suite and others. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.147.204.123 ( talk) 11:08, 25 January 2008 (UTC)

Greetings once again to members of the best encyclopedia online about Oregon (aka WP:ORE)! Last week we improved Neil Goldschmidt to close to GA level, and moved the Wells Fargo Center from Stub to Start for the Collaboration of the Week. This week we’re clowning around with some bozo from Oregon, Pinto Colvig, and then in an attempt to garner another DYK, the rather stubby Cooper Spur. As always, any contribution is appreciated, and to opt out of these messages visit here.
As we have quite a few new members over the last six months, I’ll make another pitch for our various subprojects. Listed here, you will find a variety of groups focused on specific areas of Oregon from transportation to culture. Not only can you sign up and coordinate work there, but each often has useful sources and templates related to that topic. No pressure, just an introduction to those new to the project. Adios. Profg ( talk · contribs) has revealed his real life identity in the past on Wikipedia. WikiProject Articles for creation needs your help!
WikiProject Articles for creation has done a tremendous job in working at
WP:AFC over the past 7½ months. Thank you all for your hard work and dedication! Together, we've made the submission process easier and more streamlined, developed tools to make the process go faster for reviewers, and cut the backlog down to a mere fraction of what it once was. Well done! As you all are aware, however, our work is not quite yet done. The project still has 10 archive pages left to complete, which include over half a month's worth of submissions, many of which have not been completely reviewed. We need your help to finish looking over these neglected submissions so that we can finally remove the backlog notice from the page, and put an end to the more than two year old backlog that has been a thorn in our side for ages! Participants will receive an AFC Barnstar, so hurry up and help out while there's still work to be done! Make sure to sign in on the WikiProject's
talk page so we know who is involved in what promises to be our final effort to complete this goal. Thank you for all your help! |

Thank you for providing constructive feedback instead of a simple "Oppose" or that one "Strong Oppose" vote for unknown reasons. - Jameson L. Tai talk ♦ contribs 05:08, 28 January 2008 (UTC)
Hello again from WP:ORE. Please note the Collaboration of the Week is running two hours late, no morning kindergarten, and routers are on snow routes. Thank you to those who helped improve Oregon, we are inching towards GA quality. This week we have another High importance Stub in our official state insect (who knew?) with the Oregon Swallowtail, and then a new article I came across, Biglow Canyon Wind Farm. Help if you can get out of the snow. Once again, to opt out or suggest future collaborative efforts, click here. Good day! Aboutmovies ( talk) 16:08, 28 January 2008 (UTC)

Tiptoety, thanks for your support, it was quite a drama in the end. I'm not going to spam round pretty pictures, it's not my style, but I'm sure you'll be quite ready to go for it yourself soon. Your contributions to WP:ANI are helpful, and as long as you keep the balance with the mainspace edits, I don't see any problems. Cheers! -- Rodhullandemu ( Talk) 17:04, 28 January 2008 (UTC)
The user created the article using a speedy delete tag. The article had been removed earlier, which is why I tagged the article as vandalism. Mh29255 ( talk) 03:38, 29 January 2008 (UTC)
Hi Tiptoety! I noticed that when you review articles at AfC, you seem to be using a different template to others. At the top it might have {{#switch:|accept={{afc a}}|mm={{afc mm}}|#default={{afc r}}}}. What's the score here? I've recently started helping at this page. I find it's a great way to force you to read all the policies! Best regards, MSGJ ( talk) 23:18, 29 January 2008 (UTC)
I see nothing wrong with this page as it is. I styled this page, as all Wake Forest history pages off of the Florida Gators historical pages. What is wrong with it? Rebajc3 ( talk) 17:38, 31 January 2008 (UTC)
I just corrected your request as it seemed to be incorrect. I only noticed because I was thinking about adding my name too! MSGJ ( talk) 21:06, 31 January 2008 (UTC)
By the way I've had to remove that AfC script because, while it was working perfectly at home, it was causing my web browser at work to crash horribly. MSGJ ( talk) 16:26, 1 February 2008 (UTC)
The Universal Declaration of Human Rights sums up the history adequately, and utterly fails elsewhere. My edits were not unconstructive - they might have been hostile, but decidedly not unconstructive.
We have a discussion about the template on at Wikipedia:Village pump (proposals). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.197.39.178 ( talk) 00:02, 1 February 2008 (UTC)
My RfA was successful, and closed with 44 Supports, 6 Opposes, and 1 Neutral. For your support, you have my thanks - I fully intend to live up to the lofty yet not-a-big-deal responsibility you have granted me. For those who opposed my candidacy, I value your input and advice, and hope that I may prove worthy of your trust. Special thanks to both Rudget and bibliomaniac 1 5 for their expert coaching and guidance. I look forward to serving the project, my fellow editors, the pursuit of higher knowledge, et cetera, et cetera. Again, you have my thanks. UltraExactZZ Claims ~ Evidence 01:32, 1 February 2008 (UTC)
Hi, the purpose here is to discuss the actions of hdt83. It appears that he is acting as several users who are all Admins. When I try to edit a post (correcting errors) he not only changes it back to his old post then he blocks me. It appears that he is also Gogo Dodo among others. Please look into this as it hurts wiki. Think about what happens when one person can have access to 5 or more admin accounts and changes correct posts to his only incorrect versions. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.249.59.241 ( talk) 05:36, 6 February 2008 (UTC)

Wake up! Wake up to a happy day! Says Tom Peterson. Greetings to the gang at WP:ORE, its time for another round of Collaboration of the Week. Last week was a very successful endeavor with great improvement to Oregon Swallowtail and Deuce Biglow Canyon Wind Farm. OK, so there’s no “e” but it makes me laugh. The Biglow production was so successful we got our first DYK out of it. So, let’s try for a second with the tallest building in the state, the Wells Fargo Center. Then by request we have the former governor (among other things) Neil Goldschmidt. Again, to opt out or suggest future collaborative efforts, visit here.
Adios. I gave you a review (my first, so correct any mistakes that might be there). You can see it here. Cheers, Kakofonous ( talk) 20:04, 18 February 2008 (UTC)
Tiptoety, I know you're an experienced editor, but when you reverted the vandalism in The Bronx article, you reverted to one that had previously been vandalized. It was hard to spot -- hidden in the references. So I reverted to a previous edit -- not because it was mine, but because it was the last clean one. BTW, I am really impressed with your editing work. FYI, this was already checkusered at Wikipedia:Requests for checkuser/Case/Profg. More likely, if I had to guess, Fairchoice ( talk · contribs) was created by Archtransit ( talk · contribs) for drama/amusement/whatever when he saw Profg's call for meat puppets. Profg ( talk · contribs) has revealed his real life identity in the past on Wikipedia. I communicated with him off Wikipedia where he confirmed it - he is a public person whose real life identity is not in question. His motivation for being here and his behavior was obviously incompatible with Wikipedia, but he is most certainly not Archtransit or someone who would engage in Archtransit's childish games. -- B ( talk) 02:03, 20 February 2008 (UTC)

You are receiving this letter because you are listed as a participant in the Articles for creation WikiProject at WP:WPAFC. To avoid receiving further notices, please remove your name from the list. Thanks!
I just deleted the page User:Rjd0060/temp which contained that userbox I made. I see you have it on your userpage. If you want, I can give you the code for it and you can store it in your own userspace. - Rjd0060 ( talk) 02:16, 21 February 2008 (UTC)
