So? I've not seen one reliable source that confirms a console release, you'd be making assumptions, assumptions have no place on Wikipedia. Rehevkor ✉ 12:48, 28 April 2009 (UTC)
No matter how obvious something may seem, all content on Wikipedia must be backed by reliable sources. There is no defined threshold at which content can be included without such sourcing. Oh, and I'd appreciate you not calling my edits "insane", TYVM. Haipa Doragon ( talk • contributions) 13:53, 28 April 2009 (UTC)
It's all right to delete general discussions, as the talk page is for discussing the article itself only. It's not black and white that's general discussion and what's not, but bringing up personal theories and connections about the game certainly is. See WP:TALK and Wikipedia:NOTAFORUM#FORUM specifically. Rehevkor ✉ 16:58, 5 May 2009 (UTC)

"I thought Kotaku was regarded as unreliable?" It's sourced quite a bit on video game pages and it always has good sources...not to mention that they point out their [rare] mistakes. I'd say they're pretty reliable :) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 12.199.45.122 ( talk) 03:09, 26 May 2009 (UTC)
No problem. The rules are a little more nuanced than I presented: numbers greater than nine can be written as numerals or spelled out if it takes no more than two words (e.g., "one thousand" is fine, but not "one thousand two hundred"). If a MOSNUM breach is the worst that you have to worry about on Wikipedia, you're in pretty good shape. :) I'm a notoriously bad typist, and random editors get to find my silly mistakes. — TKD [talk] [c] 12:08, 27 May 2009 (UTC)
Hi there. Not wanting to be a dick here, but reverting a legitimate (reliable etc) source just because it wasn't formatted that well isn't really a justifiable reason. I'll fix it, but it's something you should take into consideration in the future. I also don't know what you mean about Eurogamer being blocked, it loads fine for me. Thanks! I have granted your account an exemption from IP blocking. This will allow you to edit through full blocks affecting your IP address when you are logged in.
Please read the page Wikipedia:IP block exemption carefully, especially the section on IP block exemption conditions.
Note in particular that you are not permitted to use this newly-granted right to edit Wikipedia via anonymous proxies, or disruptively. If you do, or there is a serious concern of abuse, then the right may be removed by any administrator.
Appropriate usage and compliance with the policy may be checked periodically, due to the nature of block exemption, and block exemption will be removed when no longer needed (for example, when the block it is related to expires).
I hope this will enhance your editing, and allow you to edit successfully and without disruption. Toddst1 ( talk) 15:26, 5 August 2009 (UTC)

WP:TPO allows "[d]eleting material not relevant to improving the article", and WP:CIVIL#Removal of uncivil comments allows the removal of "obvious trolling". The IP will probably complain that I removed some of their own comments, but I think there's a difference between calling someone " hilariously pathetic" and criticizing one's writing.
On a side note, AgoINAgo's account was not hacked; the password was apparently leaked to the former IP. — LOL T/ C 15:16, 7 August 2009 (UTC)

Just found out that these are the official cover art for the game. Apparently it was first released by BioWare via Facebook on the ME2 page. Anyway, just thought you'd want to know for sure, since you removed the art from the article earlier (I went ahead and added it back in). I've got to say, though, I am a little disappointed with BioWare on this. I always thought it would sort of go with the sleek look of ME1's art. Oh well, that's life. BTW, you plan on getting ME2? -- Commdor {Talk} 23:28, 1 August 2009 (UTC)
You're in the U.K. right? I thought stores in Europe were already out of reservations for the Hardened and Prestige Editions of MW2 (or was that Canada?). I'll be going to the Ohio State University Sept. 21, and unfortunately you can't reserve a game at one Gamestop and pick it up at another, so I'll have to wait another month just to reserve my copy. I don't trust doing it online or over the phone, it's always turned into a fiasco of shipping delays and misplaced orders before. On top of that, I just found out today I'm assigned to a four-person suite at one of the campus buildings, so I'm concerned if I bring my 360 my roommates will want to mess with it; hopefully they have their own game consoles to keep them occupied. The only good part about college and my gaming habits at this point is that the closest Gamestop appears to be a convenient five-minute walk away. -- Commdor {Talk} 21:38, 13 August 2009 (UTC)
I'm afraid our scintillating conversation has to come to an end. I'm retiring from Wikipedia today, something I've been meaning to do for a while now. Ok I believe in that when someone wants to take innovative on working on a article, they have to know what the article is about. Stating that the editor who took it out should have known this tid bit of information had a small hinch of fact in it and should took the responsibility themselves to look into it. I'll do the exact same before I remove stuff from article myself. IF it does not look like it's vandalism and it seems reasonable Ill look into it. When I added it my mistake was I did forget the source but not only one person can do a whole article right?
Its like if you are a cop and someone told you a person was killed and at the crime scene you see a shady person there, you wouldn't arrest them on the spot, you look for evidence (sources) yourself. Stating that I do believe some editors are lazy cause they do not take the innovative of being pro active. Besides that I did add the source myself and I really do not see any reason on sending a message to me about that as I did not put a individual user down and I was pointing out editors who do that in general. -- ҉ რɫՒ◌§ 9¤ ॐ 03:16, 20 August 2009 (UTC)
Good day, I have replied to the issue you raised on Talk:Fable II, but thought I would also notify you here about it incase you are interested in what happens to the previous template used for the citation. The previous template used for the citation linked to a website which requires you to log in to view it, and thus it is being considered for deletion at Wikipedia:Templates_for_deletion#Template:Playstation.com, which is a batch nomination.
I have resolved the issue on the article by changing the citation to a more user friendly one, which does not require you to log in to view it. Happy editing! -- Taelus ( talk) 22:50, 27 August 2009 (UTC)

Due to choices made by the player during the original Mass Effect, the plot of Mass Effect 2 may vary dramatically and plot lines may diverge. Please exercise caution in the weeks following the release of the game with respect to the Plot section. I checked your fan fiction stuff and it is pretty good, do you want to be an author or something? I am doing something that has a massive amount of planning behind it for me to make the first one (so far the planning is in excesse of 50 pages) and have, strangely, written the beginning of the second one (because it's cool, it involves a car chase through a jungle that eventually makes it's way to a large cliff edge (well actually it's just I could keep time well at the end) of course most of it is person climbing over many jeeps and trucks beating his way to the main truck). the actual stories themselves are set in the Lord of the Rings universe and the Mass Effect one (yes, I joined them together, although some facts had to be changed to make sense, mainly when things took place), it was originally just meant to be three stories of 200 or so pages each about me and my mates in a zombie apocalypse but then increase dramatically to now planning around 20 at least, spanning 60 years (although this made things easier so age wasn't a real factor) and then 10 more set in the Lord of the Rings time and then Mass Effect maybe 5 each. But I'll probably do more, maybe I'll throw you in too; oh and it no longer contains just my mates but many other characters. just a small fact. And to keep it fine, didn't you say you were gig to get broad band, so you can go on wiki pedia more?
Re:Finding 8472 three years on was probably a bad thing, but every one (and this is coming from three people, including you) cringes at their first story compared to the later ones; you just get better and better. Re: CoPM, I know the title makes sense in the normal context but it just sonds weird; 'the correction of the past mistake' doesn't quite fit with 'the Goblet of Fire' or 'The Half Blood Prince'; the story cool though. Maybe you should write the prequel Rowling isn't writng but made part of. Re: I can act as well, despite the fact I didn't kie being serious in front of a crowd; I just act normal and some how lip into the character, don't know why, I just does. =P Probably need to practice though other wise will not be able to do it that well. Commenting on the 'Buck the Retard' incident, you made one fatal floor (other then I found talking meatballs that said they were Asexual and just close friends; which I donot believe), he is saying that Buck is a girl, and therefore she would be a Lesbian (alsoo know as gay in general) and therefore, can have a girlfriend. Unless he is wrong in which case he is an idiot , but thats kinda self explanitry (and I may also be an idiot). Well done for also not using taboos ect which was very much like me (now take that as a insult or compliment, what ever takes your fantsy, it was meant as the latter), I will also go away and find out what heteroflexible means, *in innocent way*I am too innocent for my own good *cough*, also I will go away and find out why people think that calling people homos/gays or any other names could be insulting to any one; for the simple fact either there wrong or the person is and who cares if they are any way, it's there chose not yours and if you don't like it then put your own head up your arse and lick your balls as you sir, are moronic. Please be careful not to end up edit warring. While I agree with you that the image doesn't belong in the article, the IP has stated his reason for disagreement (maybe not a good reason, but a reason nonetheless) and neither of you should be reverting too much. I have asked the IP to start a discussion at the talk page; if he doesn't, maybe you can instead.
Also, by the way, it is not advisable to use rollback, Twinkle, etc., to revert during content disagreements. rʨanaɢ talk/ contribs 18:55, 4 November 2009 (UTC)

Hey, your not a moron! Your smarter then me (although this isn't particularly hard, almost everyone is I reckon; I think I'm a idiot who has done well, not intelligent whose done alright (I must have fluked the IQ test)). I also saw your reasoning, and in someways you were right; just it was better to keep it (apparently anyway, I just couldn't be bothered to re do it, maybe there's a tag for 'this is a dorment page'). =P Out 'The Ninja lemming' 18:55, 5 November 2009 (UTC)

I also noticed that you said "we." Hm... Maybe SineBot was onto something... In any case, the main article looks fine to me, and since you seem to be attentive of the MW2 article, maybe you'd be the best person to add these new information released in IW's live chat with Bestbuy. It contains a lot more "reinventions" of PC FPS genre: http://arstechnica.com/gaming/news/2009/11/pc-modern-warfare-2-its-much-worse-than-you-thought.ars After seeing those, I think there's enough significance both in quality and quantity of changes/reinventions to warrant a full section, but you're probably the better person to do that than me, or some angry FPS fanboy. Now, I'm not taking any sides, and I'm open-minding about the possibilities that IW is up to something good. However I still feel that this is most likely just IW and EA deciding not to implement these features to reduce production cost and maximize profit, so I probably won't be able to write something that is totally conspiracy theory free. You, on the other hand, being indifferent/unassuming about these changes probably can do a better job. Ssh83 ( talk) 22:50, 5 November 2009 (UTC)
Hey Jade, I wanted to ask you if you would consider not leaving username notices to nearly every name reported at WP:UAA. With promotional names, we usually just softblock them and ask them to create a new account name. It creates an awkward situation when a user gets a message asking them to discuss their username, and then the next message they get tells them they've been blocked because of it. In borderline or unclear cases the discussion template is used, but with most promotional or highly offensive names, they are blocked because they have come to Wikipedia for exactly the wrong reasons, and the majority of them realize this after being blocked, and either start a new account or simply stop trying to edit because they can't add spam. Thanks. Beeblebrox ( talk) 19:09, 6 November 2009 (UTC)
I fail to see how this article Former All Saints Cathedral, Chicago fits the criteria for section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, given when a page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person. The bulk of the article is about the architecture of the structure and its significance, in keeping with the format of the other historic church buildings-- Orestek ( talk) 21:43, 6 November 2009 (UTC)

I was generally concerned with WP:MFD creating new policy. There is no policy against IPs having a userpage, it's just technically impossible for them to create. Some IPs are static and edit as IPs by choice for years. Most places I edit tend to have fairly static IPs (though since I edit different places, I don't), so I empathize (even though I don't generally edit as an IP unless I'm on a computer where I have a monitored account - e.g. a Fed. Gov't computer). I am comfortable with this specific case now, however; see the IP's recent comment on my talk page. Actually, I've now completely changed my opinion, as this IP would not be a good example to base policy on, I think it was best that we dealt with it at MFD.-- Doug.( talk • contribs) 08:32, 8 November 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for helping the user, however I just wanted to say (on this page, rather than on either that page or my talk page - where we know the user is responding as well) that I thought that the tone of some of your messages was a bit 'off'.
The user is angry. This could be because they are a vandal who has been foiled, or it could be (and to be honest, this is the way I'm inclined to think) they are who they say they are, and are angry because they can't remove an image they think should not be present.
Some examples of some of your comments:
I understand that you are trying to help - but to be honest, if I was to read these on my talk page, I would be a bit pissed off! I feel that this individual is indeed the Intellectual Rights owner - the only problem is that they have provided no proof of this, and no proof that they are the copyright owner as well. These are the two issues here. Most such designs are indeed copyrighted to The Crown, but some copyrights are left to the original designer.
Anyway, it's not a biggie - I just feel that these two examples are more likely to piss off the user than get them to listen to us and follow the advice we are giving them to do what they want to do.
Happy editing! -- PhantomSteve ( Contact Me, My Contribs) 08:13, 16 November 2009 (UTC)

Hi.
You wrote "Please do not add commentary or your own personal analysis to Wikipedia articles, as you did to Dragon Age: Origins. Doing so violates Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy and breaches the formal tone expected in an encyclopedia"
I didn't write my own personal analysis. I thought that writing the paragraph about "differences between the console versions" (besides letting the wikipedia open to a flamewar between fanboys) wasn't neutral, since it didn't include any comment about the third version, the PC version(the one with the higher reviews, btw) so I changed it the title "Differences between versions" and I quoted Gamespot, as the rest of the paragraph, saying "The PC version is the superior experience" which is a quote from the paragraph "The PC version is the superior experience, but if you're choosing between the two console releases, the PlayStation 3 has the upper hand" again from gamespot.
Should I change it back to my version?
So, should I change it back? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Quijote3000 ( talk • contribs) 22:43, 16 November 2009 (UTC)

It just fed something in me and became a little unhealthy for a habit. Time to move on, you know? I can't keep editing stuff forever. Maybe I just didn't have the right mentality for this kind of thing, towards the end I was taking it too seriously. Anyway, if you ever get Xbox Live, my gamertag is also "Commdor", and I can be reached any time at the e-mail address "cbj42@fuse.net". Good luck with your editing career, thanks for the chat, and may you succeed in all of your (video game-related) struggles. -- Commdor {Talk} 21:23, 20 August 2009 (UTC)

My intention was for people to happen to see the info on stuff was stated by an actual Bioware employee. Dear WikiProject Video games member,
You are receiving this message because you have either Category:WikiProject Video games members or {{ User WPVG}} somewhere in your userspace and you have edited Wikipedia in recent months.
The Video games project has created a member list to provide a clearer picture of its active membership.
All members have currently been placed in the "Inactive" section by default. Please remove your username from the "Inactive" listing and place it under the "Active" listing if you plan on regularly:
Ideally, members are encouraged to do both, but either one meets our criteria of inclusion. Members still listed inactive at the beginning of November 2009 may be removed. You may re-add yourself to the active list at any time. Thank you for your help, and we look forward to working with you.

Due to choices made by the player during the original Mass Effect, the plot of Mass Effect 2 may vary dramatically and plot lines may diverge. Please exercise caution in the weeks following the release of the game with respect to the Plot section. Consider discussing changes to determine if the text is inaccurate or merely an alternate plot line. |

Yeah, thats what I thought too. But it appears that Drew Karpyshyn actually moved to austin to help BioWare with The Old Republic. So in his stead, Mac Walters became the lead writer...

Nah I jest, I jest. :P I just help clean and tidy User:Gogo Dodo's page a lot, and just noticed you've been doing as well. Regardless, since you seem to be going through some hard times, I give you this wikismile:

Thank you for minding my talk page. I'm online for a little while, so let's just let it settle down for a bit and stop responding. She tweeted that I deleted her article "b/c I'm in Canada" and pointed people to my talk page, which is why everybody is coming out of the woodwork. Arguing with everybody who shows up won't really help matters at this moment. -- Gogo Dodo ( talk) 18:07, 18 November 2009 (UTC)
Thanks again for helping respond to my talk page, but I think it's best for now to stop responding to everybody who keeps showing up. It's just going to make the section even longer, argumentative, and not particularly productive. I left two big red boxes on my talk page, that should be enough for now. -- Gogo Dodo ( talk) 18:33, 18 November 2009 (UTC)

The next time they add something to their sandbox it will also appear on Meaghan's talk page if you don't subst/remove it. Regards, Jeffrey Mall ( talk • contribs) - 14:54, 19 November 2009 (UTC)
thanks for the reminder. Do you think you'll be able to have a conversation with blueboy96 about not biting newbies, and being a bit more careful when reading bot-generated messages? thanks. Also, I don't know how to remove the edit summary, so if you can please feel free to do so. NotAnIP83:149:66:11 ( talk) 00:02, 20 November 2009 (UTC)
Thanks for the reverts on the vandalism! It's all to do with an ANI report I made, so I've added the vandalism to that report! Thanks once again, -- PhantomSteve ( Contact Me, My Contribs) 02:19, 20 November 2009 (UTC)
Hello Thejadefalcon, and thanks for your work patrolling new changes. I am just informing you that I declined the speedy deletion of Inheritance cycle languages - a page you tagged - because: this doesn't meet WP:CSD#A1 - it is not "very short", and the context is clear. Please review the criteria for speedy deletion before tagging further pages. If you have any questions or problems, please let me know. JohnCD ( talk) 13:50, 21 November 2009 (UTC)
Thanks for cleaning up the citations I added for the plot section. I wasn't sure how to make the shortened versions of the citations. :) Splew ( talk) 19:10, 21 November 2009 (UTC)

Please report to AIV next time. "If the name is a possible violation, but they are spamming or vandalising: It is usually better to block for the bigger problem and not the smaller one. A vandal or spammer with a questionable username should be reported to the Administrator intervention against vandalism noticeboard to be blocked for vandalism or spam." Thanks, though. -- Thejadefalcon Sing your song The bird's seeds 17:28, 22 November 2009 (UTC)

Hello Thejadefalcon. This is probably User:Gaunkars of Goa, who is indef blocked. Let him have his moment, and leave a few comments. Perhaps he can be tempted to come back into the light and become a well-behaved editor. If not, we know what to do. EdJohnston ( talk) 19:06, 22 November 2009 (UTC)
Thank you and no thank you
Thank you for your thoughtfulness in deleting comments from my user talk page. However, you removed potentially constructive comments. I was part of a discussion about Goa a few months ago and someone seems to have sent me a link to a reliable source. Suomi Finland 2009 ( talk) 15:58, 23 November 2009 (UTC)
I emailed you a very clear picture of the back of a Dragon Age: Origins box to your hotmail.co.uk account. It should be more than clear enough. For the record, it was purchased through amazon.com and of course is in use right now in the states. I don't think locality changes system requirements though. ;D —Preceding unsigned comment added by 172.131.236.113 ( talk) 18:01, 23 November 2009 (UTC)
Have NO idea what you are talking about????? The listing in question certainly does not deserve to be tagged, having so many references, but my stating that fact does not make me disrespectful, does it?????????? MostFamousPeopleUSA ( talk) 01:46, 22 November 2009 (UTC)
Thejadefalcon, stop deleting important information. Your the worst wikipedia editor ever. You power crazy information controlling loser. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Gamerstar ( talk • contribs) 02:29, 25 November 2009 (UTC)
look, this guy thought mike patton didn't do videogame voices, so he probbobly was thinking of GENERAL patton by mistake. he thought it was vandalism. i am just trying to make sure he doesn't get banned! 75.72.25.219 ( talk) 16:42, 25 November 2009 (UTC)
The editor's edits were clearly intended solely to advertise her employer; her language, from the use of the plural "we" to the username she wanted to change to, made it clear that her only purpose in being here was to spam. Dynamic Language had been changed to a redir by another editor before I began to examine the topic. -- Orange Mike | Talk 16:44, 25 November 2009 (UTC)
The article Dynamic Language has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{
dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why in your
edit summary or on
the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{
dated prod}}
will stop the
Proposed Deletion process, but other
deletion processes exist. The
Speedy Deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and
Articles for Deletion allows discussion to reach
consensus for deletion.
