Thank you for your comment at Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism about 71.178.53.171. Your comment was perfectly reasonable, but did not take into account the background to the report. This editor is a long-term troll who has been editing from various IP addresses over a long time, and takes delight in attempting to bait a particular group of editors. One of the methods this person uses to try to taunt people is to use certain key words (such as "scruffy") as a way of announcing in effect "it's me again". Anyone who has had prior dealings with this troll/vandal will instantly recognise the pattern, and the correct procedure is to report immediately to AIV, and for an admin to block immediately. Giving a string of warnings and waiting would not be helpful, both because it would give the vandal more time to post their silly messages, and also because it would give exactly the kind of response that the troll is seeking: see Wikipedia:Deny recognition. Again, thanks for your comment, but I thought it might help you to know why an action has been taken which, from your point of view, might not look good. Hi
I know, it is a bit of a pain in the a***! As far as I know there are very limited numbers of status indicators...I did try out Xeno's script which added the easy links at the very top of the page (where My talk My preferences My watchlist are) but they all need a page save unfortunately. Xeno's script was a little easier to use though.
I tried to find one that would automatically put "offline" when I logged out and "online" when I logged in so that I could just use the Status one for away, around and sleeping, but I couldn't find one unfortunately...I am still looking though :¬) Chaosdruid ( talk) 22:12, 7 March 2011 (UTC)

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
Thank you for experimenting with Wikipedia. Your test worked, and the page that you created has been or soon will be deleted. Please use the sandbox for any other tests you want to do. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}}
to the top of
the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on
the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact
one of these administrators to request that the administrator
userfy the page or email a copy to you.

Just a note to say that I have removed the CSD tag which you placed on Nanologica AB because the article does make a claim to significance which may be credible: "They are the world’s leading developers and producers of mesoporous silica particles". I am not an admin, but I understand that any average editor can remove CSD tags that are not on articles that they created. The article may not meet the notability guidlines, and as yet, does not reliably source the claim to significance, so maybe an AFD is in order. Thanks, Quasihuman ( talk) 17:52, 20 March 2011 (UTC)

I imagine this isn't the proper way of explaining an edit, so if you could give me a few pointers in that direction, I would much appreciate that as well. I noticed you reverted some vandalism on that page today, by undoing the last edit. Thank you for picking that up, but I am just asking you to be even more vigilant. When you revert, you need to check what you are reverting to. There had been three separate vandalistic errors by three different vandals and you only caught the last one. Fortunately the other stuff was so stupid that it was obvious and I found it.
Sometimes vandalism such as the deletion of a whole section can go unnoticed, if a well-meaning editor simply reverts without doing a proper history check. Believe me, a whole section in the life of Fra Angelico went missing a few years back, because of a similar problem. Several months later, I reread the entire article and tracked down the missing section, buried under a hundred later edits. So, check the history, and make sure you are reverting to a good state. Four jokes- A little boy wanted $100 badly and prayed for two weeks but nothing happened. Then he decided to write a letter to the Lord requesting the $100. When the postal authorities received the letter addressed to the Lord, USA, they decided to send it to President Clinton. The President was so impressed, touched, and amused that he instructed his secretary to send the little boy a $5.00 bill, as this would appear to be a lot of money to a little boy. The little boy was delighted with the $5.00, and sat down to write a thank-you note to the Lord. It said: Dear Lord, Thank you very much for sending me the money. However, I noticed that for some reason you had to send it through Washington, DC and as usual, those jerks deducted $95.
Fred collected lots of money from trick-or-treating and he went to the candy store to buy some chocolate. “You should give that money to charity,” said the sales girl. Fred thought for a moment and said, “No, I ll buy the chocolate. You give the money to charity.”
Dad, would you like to save some money? I certainly would, son. Any suggestions? Sure. Why not buy me a bike, then I my shoes will not wear out so fast.
