Thanks for the message on my talk page. My point was that the criteria for speedy deletion are, for obvious reasons, narrowly defined, and do not specifically include hoaxes (see WP:CSD). That's why hoaxes are dealt with under the Afd procedure rather than speedy deletion - see WP:HOAX#Dealing with hoaxes. I see you are proposing to withdraw the current FA nom. I think this is wise. Ideally, I think you should be looking to trim to around 8,000 words, with a much less cumbersome infobox and some illustrations, even if it's only of Bush, or of Cheney doing something important. As a guide to where to start trimming, perhaps you could look at the "Controversy" section, which is some way longer than the main article to which it is linked. As I have indicated previously, the work behind this project is impressive, and I can understand that it's painful to have to remove whole swathes. But think of yourself as a film director who has shot 100,000 feet of film and has to edit down to, say, 30,000. Some good stuff has to go. Anyway, if you want a detached viewpoint while you are revising the article, feel free to contact my talkpage. Best wishes Brianboulton ( talk) 15:32, 8 September 2008 (UTC)

I think people still cleanup trivia, but the project itself isn't active. You are free to help it be active again if you want. On a related note: there is a popular culture project which is somewhat similar. See: Wikipedia:WikiProject Popular Culture. I believe a merge was proposed for the two projects, but was rejected. They do help with some cleanup as well. Overall, that project seems to be more about keeping the trivia/popular culture rather than removing much though. RobJ1981 ( talk) 07:05, 11 September 2008 (UTC)
OK then, long time no see, hope all your extended family are keeping well, another chore which may amuse is all articles with an Overview section - they are all redundant - according to MOS the Lead is the overview, so all this section does is repeat material.
PS:Rob above is right - one project was deletionists trying to (euphemistically) 'clean up' by removing material, the other inclusionists and pop culture lovers trying to keep it. sigh Cheers, Casliber ( talk · contribs) 09:07, 13 September 2008 (UTC)
You need to learn what the meaning of the word trivia is. Whether or not some guy named "Richie Sexton" or any of the other thousands of people that have used this song before do NOT need to be mentioned in the article about the song. IT IS NOT RELEVANT. If it is important to the "Richie Sexton" or "Pittsburg Pirates" wikipedia entry then move it there. I suggest that it is NOT in that case either. It's trivial NONSENSE and NOBODY cares. It is a complete waste of space and totally unprofessional. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.110.68.30 ( talk) 11:22, 16 September 2008 (UTC)
I removed what seemed trivial in the context; listing that an ATA 738 carried passengers in the Amazing Race, or a 727 was seen in a film is not information that should be placed in the notes section of the fleet box; that is for "north american launch customer; 3 subleased to world; etc..." I don't mean to sound arrogant, but I agree with my edit. I wouldn't have a problem with the info going back in, but not there. Sox 23 12:59, 16 September 2008 (UTC)

A notice - I don't know if you know, but you can request the tools back from any willing bureaucrat, since you still have them on your other account. Thanks, — neuro (talk) 18:57, 13 January 2009 (UTC)
Obviously a Wikipediholic like myself. We can never leave this place completely. Welcome back.-- Altiris Helios Exeunt 08:54, 24 January 2009 (UTC)

G'day Sydneysiders :-) - this is just a 'last call' note to let you know that the meetup tonight at the belgian beer cafe. This meetup coincides with the end of an 'unlocking IP' conference, and various folk from creative commons, and other interested parties are hoping to come along, so it should be an interesting and rewarding meet - plus Casliber assures us the beer is fantastic :-) - it's an 'all ages' venue, and I hope to see you there! best, Privatemusings ( talk) 02:47, 17 April 2009 (UTC)
You are mentioned in a Wikipedia:Requests for comment/User conduct. The Request for Comment page is here. Cirt ( talk) 22:20, 17 June 2009 (UTC)
Have a look at this please: Talk:Material_conditional#Contradictory_example? Dart evader ( talk) 20:41, 23 June 2009 (UTC)
Actually, I think your example is good, but the conclusions need to be checked. I'm not a great logician myself, so I'm not sure if they are correct. That "if" thingy is not so obvious as it seems. Dart evader ( talk) 08:09, 25 June 2009 (UTC)
GLAM-WIKI is now less than a week away and we're fully booked. But - for those in Sydney we're also having a big meetup with our visiting guests from Wikimedia Germany and the Wikimedia Foundation itself. So, if you're free on Tuesday night, please come down to The Rocks for dinner and drinks. There will be media there and probably several of the GLAM sector attendees of the conference too. Let's show them how vibrant out local Wikimedia community is! Signup here: Wikipedia:Meetup/Sydney Witty Lama 07:33, 31 July 2009 (UTC)

You can recover your old account very simply: when you try to log in with your old username, simply have it email a new one to you. (This only works, however, if your old account includes a valid email address. If not, then your old account is truly gone.) Best of luck from another new father, who wonders why the wikivacation template doesn't include a parenting option. -- llywrch ( talk) 21:31, 9 December 2009 (UTC)
I can't believe that acronym actually exists! - —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.125.108.39 ( talk • contribs)
