I've deleted this page, based on the Speedy Deletion rationales which were added to it, but I thought it might be worthwhile to explain what was going on here. One of the big "pillars" of Wikipedia is
this one, which says that we have to be able to attribute the content to a reliable source. Now, you might well be thinking "But I had a source talking about each of the films in my list, so what's the problem?" Fair enough. What the sources said, in the main, was that this or that film was about the Holocaust. What they didn't say, though, was that they were the "best movies" about the Holocaust, and that's where the difficulties with that article began.
I know it can sound a bit harsh, but when we're dealing with terms like "best", it gets very tricky indeed. For example, look at the
List of films considered the best. As you can see there, there are all kinds of different ways of choosing the "best" film ever, which is why the list is written the way it is. The same is true for the
List of films considered the worst. Without all of these citations and explanations, the risk is that the article would just turn into "Movies I think are the best" or "Movies I think are the worst". And this is before the question is asked of what exactly makes a "Holocaust movie", since that's not a genre as clearly-defined as a "Horror movie" or a "Western" might be.
So what we'd need, for the article to stand on its own two feet, is someone out there (a reputable critic or two) to have compiled a list saying "These are the best films about the Holocaust". There are other criteria this list would need to pass, too, but that's the essential one for starters.

I've deleted this page, based on the Speedy Deletion rationales which were added to it, but I thought it might be worthwhile to explain what was going on here. One of the big "pillars" of Wikipedia is
this one, which says that we have to be able to attribute the content to a reliable source. Now, you might well be thinking "But I had a source talking about each of the films in my list, so what's the problem?" Fair enough. What the sources said, in the main, was that this or that film was about the Holocaust. What they didn't say, though, was that they were the "best movies" about the Holocaust, and that's where the difficulties with that article began.
I know it can sound a bit harsh, but when we're dealing with terms like "best", it gets very tricky indeed. For example, look at the
List of films considered the best. As you can see there, there are all kinds of different ways of choosing the "best" film ever, which is why the list is written the way it is. The same is true for the
List of films considered the worst. Without all of these citations and explanations, the risk is that the article would just turn into "Movies I think are the best" or "Movies I think are the worst". And this is before the question is asked of what exactly makes a "Holocaust movie", since that's not a genre as clearly-defined as a "Horror movie" or a "Western" might be.
So what we'd need, for the article to stand on its own two feet, is someone out there (a reputable critic or two) to have compiled a list saying "These are the best films about the Holocaust". There are other criteria this list would need to pass, too, but that's the essential one for starters.
