Hello Professor Mereu, I am looking forward to this class very much. I am majoring in Psychology and I am very interested in the topics we are going to learn about through out this semester. This is my third year in college and I just transferred to Rutgers from Burlington County College. I am very excited to be here both in this school and class. I can't wait to learn so much more that I do not already know about psychology.

I'm available as an online ambassador for your class. Feel free to ask me questions here, or by emailing me. Smallman12q ( talk) 02:17, 29 January 2012 (UTC)
Hi! You're getting this message because you are or have been a Wikipedia Ambassador. A new term is beginning for the United States and Canada Education Programs, and I wanted to give you an update on some important new information if you're interested in continuing your work this term as a Wikipedia Ambassador.
You may have heard a reference to a transition the education program is going through. This is the last term that the Wikimedia Foundation will directly run the U.S. and Canada programs; beginning in June, a proposed thematic organization is likely to take over organizing the program. You can read more about the proposal here.
Another major change in the program will take effect immediately. Beginning this term, a new MediaWiki education extension will replace all course pages and Ambassador lists. (See Wikipedia:Course pages and Help:Education Program extension for more details.) Included in the extension are online volunteer and campus volunteer user rights, which let you create and edit course pages and sign up as an ambassador for a particular course.
If you would like to continue serving as a Wikipedia Ambassador — even if you do not support a class this term — you must create an ambassador profile. If you're no longer interested in being a Wikipedia Ambassador, you don't need to do anything.
First, you need the relevant user rights for Online and/or Campus Ambassadors. (If you are an admin, you can grant the rights yourself, for you as well as other ambassadors.) Just post your rights request here, and we'll get you set up as quickly as possible.
Once you've got the ambassador rights, please set up at a Campus and/or Online Ambassador profile. You can do so at:
Going forward, the lists of Ambassadors at Special:CampusAmbassadors and Special:OnlineAmbassadors will be the official roster of who is an active Ambassador. If you would like to be an Ambassador but not ready to serve this term, you can un-check the option in your profile to publicly list it (which will remove your profile from the list).
After that, you can sign on to support courses. The list of courses will be at Special:Courses. (By default, this lists "Current" courses, but you can change the Status filter to "Planned" to see courses for this term that haven't reached their listed start date yet.)
As this is the first term we have used the extension, we know there will be some bugs, and we know the feature set is not as rich as it could be. (A big wave of improvements is already in the pipeline. And if you know MediaWiki and could help with code review, we'd love to have your help!) Please reach out to me (Sage Ross) with any complaints, bug reports, and feature suggestions. The basic features of the extension are documented at Wikipedia:Course pages, and you can see a tutorial for setting up and using them here.
In the past, the Education Program has had a pretty fragmented set of communication channels. We're trying to fix that. These are the recommended places to discuss and stay up-to-date on the education program:
We now have an online training for Ambassadors, which is intended to be both an orientation about the Wikipedia Ambassador role for newcomers and the manual for how to do the role. (There are parallel trainings for students and for educators as well.)
Please go through the training if you feel like you need a refresher on how a typical class is supposed to go and where the Ambassadors fit in, or if you want to review and help improve it. If there's something you'd like to see added, or other suggestions you have for it, feel free to edit the training and/or leave feedback. A primer on setting up and using course pages is included in the educators' training.
The Resources page of the training is the main place for Ambassador-related resources. If there's something you think is important as a resource that's not on there, please add it.
Finally, whether or not you work with any classes this term, I encourage you to post entries to the Trophy Case whenever you see excellent work from students or if you have great examples from past semesters. And, as always, let students (and other editors!) know when they do things well; a little WikiLove goes a long way!

Hi Stefania! I saw that you requested Online Ambassador rights at Wikipedia talk:Ambassadors/Become an ambassador. From your editing history, though, it looks like you were previously the instructor for a class (and maybe served as your own Campus Ambassador?). If you're planning to support other classes now as an Online Ambassador, I can assign you that user right. I just wanted to check with you first to see if that's what you wanted. (If you're planning on serving as an ambassador and running another class yourself, I can give you the course instructor right as well, or if you just plan to work with your own classes, all you'll need is the instructor right.)
Let me know, and I'll get you squared away with the appropriate user rights.-- Sage Ross (WMF) ( talk) 17:51, 1 February 2013 (UTC)

My name is Gabriella Tilelli, (also very Italian) :-) and I'm currently a senior majoring in Psychology. At first, I was a little worried about taking a 3 hr lecture course, but after the first 2 classes flew by, I can honestly say I'm excited for this semester! The fact that you keep an open discussion throughout the whole class really keeps it interesting and intriguing. I am fascinated in all topics of Psychology, especially consciousness vs. unconsciousness and the effect of dreams, illusions, and psychoactive drugs on the brain. All of it is just so cool to me! Anyways, I look forward to a great semester! Gtilelli ( talk) 01:00, 19 September 2013 (UTC)Gabby T.
Its me the confused child, I finally think I got the whole concept of this-->'NOT', but I know I will because you are determine to make sure we do :-). Well my name is Erika Collazo, and I am a senior majoring Psych. I took this class because I am a very attentive person who like to read people in and out. I originally major in nursing and in the middle, I changed because I found myself always being the person who help people when they had problems. With that I figured my listening skills and observation ability were capable to work with people, so I decided to go further with knowing more about the personalities of people and also knowing the psychological aspect of individuals. So here I am in your class, learning more about the brain and knowing more about the consciousness part of it. Hopefully this class will continue to enlighten me and keep me wanting to know more about this specific topic. I am glad we have a professor who is able to keep us alert for 3 hours and as well as keep us smiling as we learn. Ecollazo ( talk) 12:13, 19 September 2013 (UTC)

Greetings Dr. Mereu, This rather unorthodox assignment became far more informative then I thought it would be. I feel significantly more confident in both using this site as a jumping off point to learning about new topics, and editing wiki articles in general. I want you to know I am very grateful to you for having assigned us to learn about this site, and I plan on contributing much to open source knowledge from hear on out. It was suggested that I try to contact someone in the education outreach program. We are hosting an edit-a-thon at ThatCampPhilly (see below). At a previous event we hit the new-editors cap (of 6). I'd like to arrange in advance to allow for additional creation of new editors and increased editor activity, for ThatCamp. Your name came up as someone in the Philly region who works as an ambassador. I'm not quite clear on whether you would need to be at the event physically, or whether you could give me some sort of rights to make this work. Please advise, and in any case, you'd be welcome at the edit-a-thon. Mary Mark Ockerbloom ( talk) 20:00, 25 September 2013 (UTC)

Hello Dr. Mereu. I have been using Wikipedia projects for my History of Psych classes for a couple of years. The new attempt to introduce some structure is welcome. However, I see that I now need some help from an ambassador. Your Regional Ambassador should assign the rights to your account, so be sure to let the Regional Ambassador know your username." I am fascinated in all topics of Psychology, especially consciousness vs. unconsciousness and the effect of dreams, illusions, and psychoactive drugs on the brain.

Let me start off by saying that I am technologically challenged, and I hope I'm doing this correctly. The course is very intriguing and the fact that you are so passionate about your area of study makes the lectures very entertaining and informative. I am learning how to Wiki. I thought I was going to have a hard time but I am working on it. To be honest I was having a hard time with consciousness but as I go along I am coming around. Thank you. Hello Dr. Mereu, I just wanted to let you know that i'm enjoying your class so far. I've been out of school for a very long time (10 years) and I thought that I would have a tough time adjusting but so far so good. I look forward to learning something new in class on Tuesday!

Please join the Wikipedia Edit-a-thon at THATCamp Philly, September 27, 2013, held at the Chemical Heritage Foundation. Bring your own content to work on, or get an early start on Ada Lovelace Day with our resources about women in science, chemistry and the history of science. Dear Wikipedia Ambassador,
I am seeking input on your experience as a mentor to new Wikipedians. This survey is designed to provide insight for the development of a new mentorship support tool on Wikipedia. If you have a moment, please take this survey, it should not take more than 10 minutes of your time to complete.

Also, if you are able to, I would greatly appreciate it if you would send the following survey to the mentee you worked with:

Hello Dr. Mereu. I have been using Wikipedia projects for my History of Psych classes for a couple of years. The new attempt to introduce some structure is welcome. However, I see that I now need some help from an ambassador. Here is what I read: "To set up a course page, you need to have a user account that has been given the “Course instructor” rights on Wikipedia. Your Regional Ambassador should assign the rights to your account, so be sure to let the Regional Ambassador know your username." I could not find a link to a regional ambassador, so can you help me with this? My user name is James Council. J.R. Council ( talk) 02:52, 27 August 2014 (UTC)
Hello again! I was able to get in touch with the Wikipedia Educational program, and now have a course page set up. I am contacting you now to see if you could be available to help my class in History and Systems of Psychology at North Dakota State University. I've had 5 classes so far working on Wikipedia Psychology articles rather than the traditional term papers. It's been a great experience for me and my students, but I still have a lot to learn. I've gotten my class started with editing tutorials and they've now picked articles to work on this semester. Not sure what you need from me (e.g., access to course page?), but it would be nice to know that we can call on you for help from time to time. Thanks! J.R. My course page is /info/en/?search=Education_Program:North_Dakota_State_University/History_of_Psychology_%28Fall_2014%29 There is a list of online ambassadors there, but I'm not sure how to add you. Thanks again! Jim J.R. Council ( talk) 18:58, 29 October 2014 (UTC)
