Speedy deletion of Okenite

A tag has been placed on Okenite requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{ hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. —  Wenli ( reply here) 03:11, 2 April 2008 (UTC) reply

License tagging for Image:Russell11.jpg

Images

The images contain stitching that is characteristic of Google Street View. If I am wrong, I am sorry. Would you please give the latitude/longitude of where some of those photos were taken? They still show characteristic signs of being taken from street view to me. —  neuro (talk) (review) 13:57, 25 March 2009 (UTC) reply

I meant the latitude/longitude, not the links to the images. I do not tag all images that are photographs, especially since I take such photographs myself. The issue is that all of those images show characteristics similar to Google Street View photographs, but it is entirely possible I am wrong (and I am doubting it now, but it seemed obvious at the time). —  neuro (talk) (review) 14:07, 25 March 2009 (UTC) reply

Almost all of them will not be deleted now, a few of them still have issues which weren't flagged by me. Did you meant to tag all of the images you uploaded under the same license? If you've published evidence that you're the same person as the Flickr user, please point me there, and I can easily undelete it. If you've not published evidence in the past but you'd now like to do so, it's easy — on your Flickr user profile, say "I am the same person as Photolitherland on Wikipedia", or expand your Flickr profile with a link to this talk page and call it something like "My page on Wikipedia", or do anything else on Flickr that clearly connects the two accounts. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Akro Agate Company requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from http://www.glassencyclopedia.com/AkroAgateglass.html. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". Image copyright problem with File:Paristexas.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Paristexas.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{ PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{ self|CC-by-sa-3.0|GFDL}} (to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by STBotI. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI ( talk) 03:15, 25 March 2009 (UTC) reply

Please desist with your personal attacks. I'm willing to discuss this, but not whilst you make such attacks. —  neuro (talk) (review) 14:16, 25 March 2009 (UTC) reply
After some research, it would appear that I was completely and utterly wrong, and I am nothing if not apologetic for my mistake. Please accept my sincere apologies, and my assurances that my actions are not representative of Wikipedia - I made a mistake which is unlikely to be repeated. Thanks. —  neuro (talk) (review) 14:26, 25 March 2009 (UTC) reply
Almost all of them will not be deleted now, a few of them still have issues which weren't flagged by me. Did you meant to tag all of the images you uploaded under the same license? If the answer is yes, I can fix the problem. Again, sorry for the mix up. —  neuro (talk) (review) 14:31, 25 March 2009 (UTC) reply
You licensed most under {{ cc-by-sa-3.0}}. Is that alright to add to the ones missing it? —  neuro (talk) (review) 14:35, 25 March 2009 (UTC) reply
It's no problem, and I'll get right on it. Thanks for staying calm, especially since I was being such an utter imbecile. :) —  neuro (talk) (review) 14:38, 25 March 2009 (UTC) reply
Okay, that's all of them sorted. Thanks again for not being too angry, and hopefully there are no hard feelings. —  neuro (talk) (review) 14:40, 25 March 2009 (UTC) reply
Okay, I'll keep a look out, and if there are any issues I'll drop you a message. :) —  neuro (talk) (review) 14:43, 25 March 2009 (UTC) reply

Dear uploader: The media file you uploaded as File:Fossill.jpg is missing a description and/or other details on its image description page. If possible, please add this information. This will help other editors to make better use of the image, and it will be more informative for readers.

If the information is not provided, the image may eventually be proposed for deletion, a situation which is not desirable, and which can easily be avoided.

In particular, an actual identification of the fossil may protect the image from future deletion proposals, as there are many high quality fossil images already available on Wikipedia which are clearly identified. Best wishes, -- Haruth ( talk) 11:41, 16 April 2010 (UTC) reply

Hello, thanks for uploading File:ChrisLitherlandHeights.jpg. If this is your own photograph, and you want it to be used here, can you please license it under a free license? If it remains tagged as non-free, it will have to be deleted. Since it's your own, there shouldn't be any problem about putting your own license on it. Fut.Perf. 19:14, 19 August 2012 (UTC) reply

A tag has been placed on File:ButlerCountyChrisLitherland.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.  Ronhjones   (Talk) 22:09, 1 August 2013 (UTC) reply

I've deleted the image because I didn't see solid evidence that you're the same person as the Flickr uploader with this username. Feel free to leave any questions at my talk page if you're like help; I'll do my best. Nyttend ( talk) 04:26, 2 August 2013 (UTC) reply

Disambiguation link notification for November 16

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Garden Theater, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Beaux Arts ( check to confirm |  fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
