I agree that the play should be mentioned in adaptations, the only reason it hasnt been added thus far was because we did not have a reliable reference for it. That said, is there anything more that the book you found this information in said about the adaptation, was it well recieved, where it was originally performed, was it in English or Spanish adaptation? If these details are readily available to you and you wouldn't mind adding a sentence or two about the play adaptation I would really appreciate it. Thanks, -- Mfreud ( talk) 19:39, 13 April 2008 (UTC)
Hey Pharos, thank you very much for the suggestion of putting my blog on Planet Wikimedia. I wasn't aware of that. I made the request, and have been exploring the other ones on there...good stuff! Thanks! - Pete ( talk) 05:53, 14 April 2008 (UTC)
I don't know if you've been monitoring the mention of this on the COM:Village Pump, but I made a couple suggestions there as to how to possibly preserve as many photos as possible for future use both here and on other language wikis and outside, beyond depicting the event. They deal primarily with how the participants document the code #s that specific locations/objects are tied to. Let me know what you think, since I haven't done one of these yet, so maybe I'm off. Hi, I'm organizing the Wikipedia Takes Nashville event. I was just wondering how you went about getting sponsors, e.g. O'Reilly Media. Any other advise would be appreciated. Kaldari ( talk) 22:39, 27 April 2008 (UTC)
I started this in hope for a larger event, but need your help possibly. Does it look good enough to go public? STORMTRACKER 94 Go Irish! 21:27, 28 April 2008 (UTC)
Hi Pharos and thank you for the kind invitation! I just thought that I would let you know that I have not organized any wiki-meetups in the past, I did however post the post-meetup summary (as small as it was). I believe that you would be looking for User:TexasDex, the organizer of Philly meetup 6, in this case. Regards and good luck with your project. -- ImmortalGoddezz ( t/ c) 22:51, 28 April 2008 (UTC)

Please take a look at User:BanyanTree/Sandbox. I couldn't figure out a way to automatically update the Current events templates AND put conversation under the relevant day's template without getting someone to make a bot to create a specialize discussion template that transcludes each day's current events template. I also took a stab at a timer, though I'm not sure I got the coding right. Feel free to play around in the sandbox to make it conform more closely with your vision. - Banyan Tree 01:13, 13 May 2008 (UTC)

New York City Meetup
|
In the afternoon, we will hold a session dedicated to meta:Wikimedia New York City activities, elect a board of directors, and hold salon-style group discussions on Wikipedia and the other Wikimedia projects (see the last meeting's minutes).
We'll also review our recent Wikipedia Takes Manhattan event, and make preparations for our exciting successor Wiki Week bonanza, being planned with Columbia University students for September or October.
In the evening, we'll share dinner and chat at a local restaurant, and (weather permitting) hold a late-night astronomy event at Columbia's telescopes.
You can add or remove your name from the New York City Meetups invite list at Wikipedia:Meetup/NYC/Invite list.
Also, check out our regional US Wikimedia chapters blog
Wiki Northeast (and we're open to guest posts).

I am likely to come but I have yet to make the arrangements. Sorry for being so out of the loop ... we got less nagging this time, which does help remind us. And yes, I should sign up for the mailing list; I don't have an excuse anymore.
As for video, my camera could do it but it only has 512MB on it, and I don't know how long that lasts. If someone else has, say, a 2 or even 4GB card, that might work. Daniel Case ( talk) 21:23, 27 May 2008 (UTC)
Hi. I noticed you changed the format of ITN/C, in accordance with BanyanTree's suggestion. While I am not outright opposed to the change, I do not think it is a great idea to make the change without a larger discussion. I know the idea was fairly well-received on the ITN 2.0 talk page, but a larger discussion at ITN Talk would have been nice. Perhaps you could temporarily revert yourself until a more formal agreement is reached? Random 89 09:01, 20 May 2008 (UTC)
I'm not really much involved in the chapter formation; Swatjester seems to be leading the effort. I've posted your note on his user talk page; if you don't hear from him, you might want to follow up directly. -- John Broughton (♫♫) 15:57, 20 May 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for catching my cheat sheet errors :) I've made handouts and registration forms for the event that I'm going to genericize to put on Wikipedia Takes The City next week. I'll let you know how everything goes tomorrow. Thanks again for all your help! Kaldari ( talk) 23:13, 23 May 2008 (UTC)
This edit [2] was certainly unhelpful. You seem to know that the article in question is the subject of an WP:AFD. Blanking an article in the middle of an AFD discussion is, to say the least, improper. 09:12, 26 May 2008 (UTC)
Okay, thanks. Spencer T♦ C 20:51, 27 May 2008 (UTC)
I suggest the wording of the first item be fixed to (changes in bold): "In the aftermath of the Sichuan earthquake, Chinese officials evacuate 100,000 people from Mianyang as engineers prepare to drain the landslide-created Tangjiashan Lake." It still may need to be tweaked and "drain" could link to drainage, but that's up to you. Spencer T♦ C 23:10, 27 May 2008 (UTC)
