Archive 28: March 2016
Please do not use phrases such as “not notable” in a CSD nomination such as you used in:
if that has subsequently been deleted your explanation was “because Stale article - no RS - not notable subject.”
One of the classic admin test questions is about the deletion of an article where the subject is not notable. A non-notable subject can be deleted in an AFD but not in a CSD. Deletion under CSD requires a more stringent standard that importance wasn’t even asserted. See WP:a7. I think many of those you have tagged with this phrase do qualify as A7, but because you use the word “notable”, I have declined to delete them. My guess is someone else will remove the article but change the rationale from G6 to A7.-- S Philbrick (Talk) 03:58, 1 March 2016 (UTC)
Your edit here hopefully intended to explain to the editor the reason for the deletion nomination, but by including the template you added this page to the CSD list. Please see my subsequent edit which uses the “TL” template so that the template is displayed but not invoked. (If you have other such examples, you’ll want to fix them as soon as possible.-- S Philbrick (Talk) 14:40, 1 March 2016 (UTC)
Will you please stop using some weird syntax for speedy delete tags. We have just had to rescue user talk:Yogijbrown, User talk:Yogikuddha and User talk:Yocko from CAT:CSD. Compare this edit, the notification of which applied a speedy tag to the user_talk page with this one where the notification was correct. — RHaworth ( talk · contribs) 14:52, 1 March 2016 (UTC)
I thought that my user_talk page was quite busy but yours seems to move three times faster than mine. This page is ridiculously big. OK, disk space is ridiculously cheap and apparently endlessly expandable but spare a thought for people with slow connections or on small-screen hand-held devices. OK2, you probably will be archiving Feb shortly so I am seeing this page at about its largest but may I suggest that you archive more frequently or enlist the services of an archive bot. — RHaworth ( talk · contribs) 15:07, 1 March 2016 (UTC)
Hi Onel5969,
I hope all is well today :). I just wanted to see if you could take another look at this draft. He played in the Macedonian super league which is listed as #9 under national domestic leagues and also in two of the top leagues in the world in Argentina and Spain. Please advise on whether or not this qualifies. Thank you in advance. Cheers! /info/en/?search=European_national_basketball_league_rankings — Preceding unsigned comment added by RWspecial ( talk • contribs) 16:16, 1 March 2016 (UTC)
Can you please help me understand why this page keeps getting declined? I have read all of the pertinent information on Wikipedia, and keep adding more references and links, but it doesn't seem to change the status. In looking at other musician pages, including some of the Wikipedia links to musicians that Bobby has worked with that are linked to his page, it seems that they use similar kinds of references, and similar numbers of references, and those have been approved for example:

Hi, would you be able to help me again as I feel a bit lost. I don't understand why this article keeps on being rejected. This time you mentioned the sources. Again I don't understand why many many other architectural practices such as BuckleyGrayYeoman are using the exact same kind of sources (mainly from the architectural world, even their own website!) - please have a look at Eric Parry Architects, Assael, Wilkinson Eyre, Jestico and Whiles, Stanton Williams... - some of them are even using only listing (I ve been told that it was totally wrong) and they have been accepted...Where is the consistency then here? I will add some more sources but I would be really pleased to hear from you about this. — Preceding unsigned comment added by ArchitectureZMJ ( talk • contribs) 17:45, 2 March 2016 (UTC)

Hello, Pwendee. It has been over six months since you last edited your Articles for Creation draft article submission, "Theory of Value Drivers".... View message View changes
I have simply given up! After a couple of attempts and being told that I have too much of a vested interest in the article, I have given up and decided not to pursue Wikipedia at this time. I have presented Value Driver Theory to several thousand people around the world; and Value Driver Theory has been embraced and is being used by many of these people. I will continue to pursue avenues outside of Wikipedia.
Thanks for your interest.

Hello O. I know you are aware of the "uncredited in italics" (wait is that an experimental film from the 1960s?) from the IAMMMMW article. I tried explaining things with a post here User talk:Thechirogarage#Italics. Please feel free to add anything to it if you think it would help. The problem grew a bit when I found the same edits being made by 2606:6000:6683:7900:1981:4145:925D:F20D ( talk · contribs). I am hoping that it was a forgetful login but the switching back and forth here are worrisome. If is frustrating as most of their other edits are useful. You are wrong, I made an edit on fact and figure on the Fianna Fáil page TWICE for the number of TDs in dáil eireann. The number of TDs in 2011 was 166, the number of TDs in 2016 has being reduced to 158. The number of Fianna Fáil TDs now 44 as all the counts on the Irish General Election have being made. Fianna Fáil currently have 44 seats out of 158. Paddyfromthewest ( talk) 00:14, 4 March 2016 (UTC)

Hi, I did rework the sources. I rewrote them so they respect the basic rules of Wikipedia but not only ! I added several independent sources as requested (such as the FT, BBC radio or The Guardian) that talked about few different projects we are working on in London (The Passage, The Bishopsgate Goodsyard and Cromwell Place). I do hope this time the submission will be accepted, thanks a lot again for your time. — Preceding unsigned comment added by ArchitectureZMJ ( talk • contribs) 17:05, 4 March 2016 (UTC)

I have added some information which I think might address the issue of notablity. Can you tell me if I am heading in the correct direction? Zhou Qi was an important commentator on Dream of the Red Chamber, one of the most popular novels ever written. She is not very well known in the English speaking world, but that does not necessarily mean she is not notable. I left a message about my entry on Zhou Qi--I have revised it but thought I'd talk to you about it rather than just resubmit it.
I think I added material which makes the case for her notability, but if I didn't I'd like to hear from you what would make the case. She is not well known in English, but her writings on the novel Dream of the Red Chamber are very important.

With regard to article 'New Bong Escape HPP'
Before making changes kindly make an effort to understand the background and provide proof as to why you are making edits to other peoples work. New bong Escape is the first private HPP in Pakistan. There have been changes made to the constitution of the country to allow for a space for private hydropower generation within Pakistan, solely due to this project.

Hi there
Hope you're well? Good weekend?
You moderated a piece that I wrote on Richard Grootscholten, a football coach. The feedback that you provided was that he wasn't notable enough.
However, when I originally wrote it, it was moderated by another user who said that some of the citations were not notable enough, which I removed. But then this has led to your feedback that he's not notable enough...
Can I share my original copy with you to see if you can tell me how I can find that balance?
Thanks

Hi there,
I've been revising this article as best I can - I'm not sure how to meet Wikipedia's guidelines for the overly promotional tone. Everything I've written here is factual, and the person the article is about really is quite significant in his field. I've been using the Wiki pages of Elon Musk (big fish) and Dave Kerpen (little fish) for reference, and I'm not sure how mine is different from the latter. Can you give some more specific pointers on how to get this accepted?
Thank you!

/info/en/?search=Draft:Michael_Jay_Solomon. I have also added a few more sources. Can you please review the updates and let me know if I have more work to do? The subject of the article is an older man who is retired. I found it challenging to find sources for events which occurred 30 or more years ago, so I turned to books written about the history of the TV industry. Also, many of the sources repeat the same information, but from different articles/publications. Thank you for your review and feedback on possible improvements.

Hi Onel5969, kindly consider the edited article in both its use of language (more clinical and encyclopaedic) and also the requested correct format of referencing. Thank you for your kind attention!
In the previous submission, the references were genuine, but I could not add links to make them verifiable. In this version of the draft, I am including verifiable references. I have added more details in the main message below. Kind request to have a look at it. Thank you.
Dear Sir:
Greetings!
Thank you very much for reviewing my article. After the declination in the initial phase, I have made extensive changes in the draft. I have incorporated the required editions in references as per Wikipedia’s rules and guidelines. References are now easily verifiable as I have added links to corresponding newspaper/magazine/journal/book.
Just to note, I had started this project considering the noteworthy work subject has done in the field of Psychotherapy, particularly in India. After getting an idea about the extent of work he has done in the concerned field, I felt the need to bring his contributions to light by including on an encyclopaedia.
I strongly agree with Wikipedia’s policies, rules and regulations about inclusion of subject to the encyclopaedia and I feel that the extensively edited version of article complies with Wikipedia’s policies, rules and regulations.
Thank you very much!
Yours very sincerely and respectfully, Vaibhav Palkar
HI, Thanks again for your time. Even though you told me you won't review it, I thought it was good to give you an update on my last edit. I reworked again the sources by deleting 'Profile' articles and by adding articles from national and international newspaper that mention the practice and its work. Some of those articles are entirely dedicated to the project that the practice has been working on, some of them only mention the practice (as notable enough to talk about the project and be included in the article). As the wikipedia guidelines call for at least one article from a national newspaper or an international publication, I think that we are now reaching the goal. Thanks again for your time.
Hi, quick question about the Matt Pacifici article. 'notability' would that only include regular and/or postseason appearances and not preseason? I'm assuming the answer is "yes" but it doesn't hurt to ask.

Hello, I'm very disappointed that you rejected my input. I understand when rejection was done on the first my input since I just started typing, so I have only one sentence without any references. But when they put into Draft, I had more time to write, and made the References section. But now, what is wrong now? I checked for the example another Russian artist, A. Belkin, who has only the couple of sentences, and his References section has 3 or 4 References which I could not even open, but still his input "pass" your acceptance. I don't know your art background, and specifically knowledge of Russian art, or you are just editor. My main point of making my input is our artists asked me to make my input into our Russian art, which is unknown from outside of Russia, which is in your Unofficial Art in Russia section. And because of my input people asked me to make my input, so people know that I/m reliable person, who has the good knowledge, and not just knowledge, but because I was a part of our art movement of 1970s. So I added there the "School of Sidlin". "Sterligov, "Arefief", and other sections there. My main point is about the "School of Sidlin", where I was the member of the group. Now only 4 students left alive, and because our school is very important from the art history point of view, it is under study in Russia, since our teacher was the student himself of the K. Malevich etc. And this is the part of history now. And since I knew another artists and their importance, I wrote about them too. In my article I included the References about the "School of Sidlin", where I could find. Remember, this is the Russian art, and many articles are written in Russian, which I can't use, since the reader can't read in Russian. So, I found and included only the References to our "School" which is written in English. But those info is very important, since for example our "School of Sidlin" included in the St. Petersburg encyclopedia, and I was mentioned there among other students of our group. (A.Belkin, or Alek Rapoport were not part of any group movement, but still they are included in your encycl.). Another my point, I included my printed 3 children's books, which I wrote and illustrated, and they were accepted in the museum, as other my works (paintings and drawings). Is it nothing from your point of view? What is more important for the artist than to be accepted in the museums? That's why I included this section there. I also divided the input into 2 parts, since I was living in Russia, and than moved to USA, so, it is 2 parts of the life of real person, and people in Russia are very interesting how I could survive. I did not know where I can put in the header or just mention, that I was accepted being in USA, as the member of the Artist Union of Russia (very important) and the member of the Writers Group here in Illinois, USA, so I just mentioned about it, but for the artist it's important, as well as I was included in the Best 10000 artists in the world by the art union. Yes, I'm not pretending to be Picasso, but I have my own role in the history..
If you can make the editing, and delete whatever you feel is extra written for this effort, them please do it. If you think, me, as an artist, does not have any "value" to be included in your encycl., than, delete it, even tough I disagree with it because it would be loss not only for my name, but for the history of Russian art as well. Thanks for reading my response, Natalia G. Toreeva. Waiting for your reply and help.

Hi,
sorry, I'm not so used to writing wikipedia entries, but I just wonder if I really have to find each TV, radio or newspaper ciritic about this soprano?
I mean, Soetkin Elbers is in European presence in contemporary and old music for several years now; in the last 3 years she had TV broadcasts (eg german/austrian "3sat"), for example she sang a solo concert from the Vienna St. Stephens Dome which was broadcast on "ORF" just before the yearly pope easter announcement**, she gave several Radio interviews (eg Belgium radio BRF1* and dutch classic radio KLARA), she had -for her opera appearances in several European cities- newspaper and magazine reviews in Austria, Belgium and Germany.
Here are just some sources:

5) http://derstandard.at/2000003508568/Oper-auf-Schloss-Greinburg (Austrian newspaper "Der Standard")

Hi there, I'm pleased to inform you that I've begun reviewing the article Phoenix, Arizona you nominated for GA-status according to the criteria. This process may take up to 7 days. Feel free to contact me with any questions or comments you might have during this period. Message delivered by Legobot, on behalf of MPJ-DK -- MPJ-DK ( talk) 03:20, 14 March 2016 (UTC)
Could you let me know please what about the submission you felt was advertorial rather than factual ? The style and layout of the article was largely based on accepted and published articles for Pulsonix and Altium Designer amongst others. All of the software packages address the same engineering application area and I'd assumed therefore that a similar layout and style was correct.
Thanks for your help.
Iain-Cliffe ( talk) 10:08, 14 March 2016 (UTC)
That's helpful, thanks. I've re-submitted a second draft with an attempt based on your guidance above. However, at some level I cannot accurately describe the software without including information about it's capabilities and I'm not sure at what level that is acceptable. Other software packages in the same field ( Pulsonix, KiCAD, DipTrace, Altium_Designer ) have published articles on Wikipedia with an explicit and extensive listing of their main features and I'm unable to spot any difference in tone between this article and those articles. Hopefully, this draft strikes a better balance.

Hello - thank you for your help with my draft of /info/en/?search=Draft:Peter_Mitchell I have added lots of references which I hope you will think increase his notability. It's interesting that you distinguish between being held in the Permanent Collection of the Tate and showing at The Tate. He is the permanent collection of other things so I've put them in. He's been on the BBC so I put that in. His work has been reviewed in different newspapers so I've put them in. Could you let me know if this is OK or do I need to re-submit to someone else? Thank you for the time you have taken to have a look. Most helpful. Jessafair ( talk) 08:34, 15 March 2016 (UTC)
Hi there One|5969 Thanks for this advice!! I hope I've done what you said. It took me a bit of time to work it out but I think I have done it. I am assuming it will need to be Peter Mitchell (photographer) to distinguish him from other Peter Mitchell's, but I don't know how to do that. I thought I had done that originally when I started the draft but it seems not to be there. I have learned a lot doing this so hopefully it won't take so long next time. Do I need to re-submit or is it OK for you to take a look? Thanks once again - most useful! Jessafair ( talk) 14:48, 18 March 2016 (UTC)
Hi Onel5969. I drafted the entry for Clara Read (child actress). I was essentially basing the draft on similar Wiki entries for girls who had played <Matilda Wormwood> in the West End. Are the references too poor, or is it simply that she hasn't as yet done enough notable stuff to warrant entry? If the latter, then no worries--cannot have every tom, dick and harry with a wiki page!
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
I can see that you declined the submission for 247 Home Rescue as the references do not show the notability.
When we last tried to create this page we were advised of the same thing and so have worked to include third party references as suggested.
The references include a BBC Radio link whereby the company was invited to speak on air in regards to a recent charity partnership as well as numerous press coverage including The Lancashire Telegraph, The Bradford Telegraph and The Argus (which is a Brighton-based newspaper at the opposite end of the country). As well as this, the company has been featured in various industrial magazines such as HVP Magazine, Insider Media and Installer online which are all nationwide magazines.
Can you provide any clue as to how to adequately determine the company is notable? I know the guidelines state the references need to be third-party, independent sources which I believe these are however in terms of how in-depth they should be is difficult to do with a business. Any ideas or tips would be greatly appreciated! Thanks AnnaBGillespie ( talk) 10:34, 16 March 2016 (UTC)

I requrest to include the name of Rituparna Bhattacharjee as a child prodigy as her book is published at the age of 11 and it is accepted with recognition by all eminent writers of Bengali literature including Syed Mustafa Siraj ,Tarapada Roy and the book has been reviewed all over India in the national English and Bengali Dailies . She is interviewed on Doordarshan and abroad in Prabasi Ananda Bazar Patrika her name came along with other child prodigies.
She is an awardee of Jugal Srimal Award which is given to her by the Central organisation for Children in the Nehru Children Museum Kolkata . Kindly include her name among the child prodigy if not as a general biogrphy page for Wikipedia.
Before nine years of age she started writing and bagged prizes from an established child Magazine Suktara. She is a regular writer of Unish Kuri and also ABP group of magazines Desh a prestigious magazine. Kindly include her name for due recognition of a child talent and no other girl of her age has really done so much in Bengali lIterature. Syed Mustafa Siraj remarked that she is a 'Wonder Girl of Literture' and in future she will be the most powerful writer of Bengali literature.' At her age no Bengali writer has got chance to write in Desh which is one of the leading magazine of Bengali literature. Kindly consider all these literary feats of Rituparna Bhattacharjee and include her name in the List of Child Prodigies. If you want any more document we may provide you .. the letter of Syed Mustafa Siraj or letter of apprectiation from the then Presidnet of India and Governor of West Bengal can be given . But as there is no option for giving images , I could not give these letters which accepted Rituparna as a Bengali writer at that age. we have all paper cuttings but no links of that time. Regards. This is with reference to my article for submission, /info/en/?search=Draft:SanJaimt . I don't understand why my article got declined.
You can see from the references given in that article that the artist is genuine and he has made impressions in the general public.

Hi Onel5969,
I am very surprised that the article was rejected because you feel that Mr. Fleming's accomplishments don't pass the Wikipedia criteria of "Notability" when Wikipedia already recognizes Mr. Fleming as "Notable" on the Trinoc*coN wikipedia page? Mr. Fleming is listed as a "Notable Guest" approved and published by wikipedia on this page and I would think that consistency is important and crucial to the site! The fact that Mr. Fleming has created world renowned iconic characters for the WWE should alone make him notable. Then throw in the fact that a single artist went up against two major corporations that were copyright infringing his work and WON, is an incredible accomplishment and screams HOPE for all artists (do you have any idea how difficult this is?). Then throw in FOUR NOMINATIONS for the Chesley Award, which is possibly recognized as the highest honor for a Fantasy/Sci-Fi artist and is on par with the Grammys, Emmys, and Oscars for his Genre! On top of all that, Mr. Fleming is known for his work for almost every major publisher in the Comic Book and Gaming industries. Wikipedia has "working artists" with approved articles that have accomplished a fraction of what he has. Mark Poole has only worked for Magic the Gathering yet has an approved wikipedia page, while Mr. Fleming has worked for Magic the Gathering and SO much more. Nene Thomas, while being a successful artist where sales are concerned hasn't accomplished a fraction of what Mr. Fleming has, yet she has a Wikipedia page? There are many many more that I could list, but I hope you understand my point. If you would like me to create a long list of other artists that have approved pages yet less notable accomplishments i can do that? All of these points are backed up by the references in the article. I have worked really hard on this article only because I truly believe along with many others, that Mr. Fleming deserves to be recognized as a notable person. I know how hard you guys work on these articles and how much time you must put in, but please consider that you might have missed this one and thanks for hearing me out. Willharriett

Hi Onel5969,
Thank you for your feedback and the offer to give advice. I reviewed again the guidelines after you declined the entry for "Jeff Papa." The denial seems to be based on either lack of reliable sources and/or lack of notability. However, the original submission cited to the Indianapolis Business Journal, The Lebanon Reporter, the Zionsville Times-Sentinel, several university and government sources, the Current newspaper, the Indianapolis Star, Indiana Public Radio, and several other sources. Each of those newspapers are print and online traditional newspapers ("mainstream" as per wiki definition) of general circulation. However, I have added citations to the article from WISH Television, The Flyer Group, the Washington Times, ABC NEws 10, Green Bay Press Gazette, Detroit Free Press, USA Today, Tallahassee Democrat, Indianatalks.com, Diario Co Latino, and IndyKorea Magazine (print and online). Many other can be found, but would appear cluttered unless needed.
On notability - note that Papa is credited with being the FIRSt mayor of Zionsville, Indiana, the architect of the FIRST and FOURTH government reorganizations in Indiana history (and recognized/decorated by the governor and state senate for that fact), responsible for the elimination of three township governments (FIRST and only time ANY have been eliminated in the 200 year history of the state), has served on a national board, is cited as first author on multiple peer-edited publications, and founded and serves as president of an international orphanage operation. Per wiki rules on notability, this seems to fall into "Major local political figures who have received significant press coverage" I certainly appreciate any advice you can provide on what else needs to be added to demonstrate the notability and the reliability of the sources. Thanks! Appreciate the thoughts and the quick review you did. /TP Templetonpeck4 ( talk) 17:18, 20 March 2016 (UTC)

Hi,
I just rewrote the page adding sources that wrote about productions that received national attention and cover a young professional theatre director. The Rap Musical Sanctuary, D.C. was novel and the first of its kind in this country. Please see Ralph Brown's wikipedia page. Please tell me how the productions cited are not notable. Isn't it customary that the director is credited. I am a Directors Guild of America member and advocating for more women to direct. I hope the span of the career of Gwendolyn Wynne notes a moment in history when women had to create their own companies and pursue their own productions. Just like the feature film Wild About Harry. Otherwise, myself and dozens of other women directors are rendered invisible.
Thanks for your consideration. Or please guide me or have someone else write about the span of my career as a woman pursuing directing in theatre and film in one of the most difficult eras in the entertainment business's history.

Dear One15969, I am working on the biography of my sister, the late orchestra conductor Isabel Mayagoitia. One of the objections to my article is the lack of inline citations. At present I have a few newspaper and magazine articles in the reference list. I could add a few inline citations, but they will not cover all the facts. (I of course have a vast amount of documentary evidence such as letters, concert programs, recordings and photos.) There are other newspaper articles (from reputable newspapers) that I have not quoted because they have a number of factual errors, such as giving wrong dates and places. There is little that is available online. In some ways this Wikipedia article is my attempt to set the record straight.
Isabel's notability is based not only in her musical talent (which is difficult to fully convey in a written medium) but in succeeding in a male-dominated field before Austria acceded into the European Union and had therefore to give women equal opportunities. It is easy to take for granted (I am a 56 year-old engineer) in 2016 that women can go into any previously male dominated field. But for the pioneers, like her, where there was open opposition to her even being present in the classes, it was bitterly difficult. And she has left a legacy, although her life was short.
So please let me know what else I need to do to get the article accepted. I do realize I still need to put it in the Wikipedia format. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Academicruth ( talk • contribs) 19:27, 21 March 2016 (UTC)

Dear Onel5969:
Given the set of scholarly criteria named on WP:SCHOLAR, Veto seems to qualify, indisputably, according to the following:
2. The person has received a highly prestigious academic award or honor at a national or international level.
3. The person is or has been an elected member of a highly selective and prestigious scholarly society or association (e.g., a National Academy of Sciences or the Royal Society) or a fellow of a major scholarly society for which that is a highly selective honor (e.g., the IEEE).
5. The person holds or has held a named chair appointment or distinguished professor appointment at a major institution of higher education and research (or an equivalent position in countries where named chairs are uncommon).
These three points are summarized in his biography section of my article. Thank you! Wihackett — Preceding unsigned comment added by Wihackett ( talk • contribs) 00:14, 23 March 2016 (UTC)

Hello,
Thanks for reviewing the submission! I just have a couple of questions as to how to show the company's notability. Merrithew has changed names several times in recent years, and the success of the company is very well-documented across a range of independent media under other names, namely the first one, Stott Pilates (the exercise method itself has its own Wiki page, and each of the founders have their own as well). It's the same company, however there are few independent sources that show this name change. How would you recommend I proceed? Should I include the resources that show the company's notability (though under a different name?).

Cardio First Angel article
Hi, I don't understand why this article was rejected.
1 - It describes the function of Cardio First Angel,
2 - describes the importance of this medical device and it
3 - quotes two independent sources,(as required by Wikipedia), which are not connected to the manufacturer. One is a journalist and the other one is an independent clinical trial.
In this case I have no idea what article would be acceptable. Can you give me some idea or be specific what is acceptable? Thanks

My article submission on British historian Pamela Horn has been rejected. Dr. Horn was indeed a notable historian and worthy of a Wikipedia article in keeping with her peers who have articles on Wikipedia. The acceptance or rejection of my submissions over the past few years seems to me to be arbitrary, despite my consistent level of effort. I have always been puzzled by this. In the past I have had no success when editing a rejected article in getting it accepted at a later date. Therefore, I will not bother in trying to edit the Pamela Horn submission. Previous rejections make sense as earlier versions of the proposal clearly lacked citations but I am puzzled by your rejection. This proposal is not an advertisement. It contains information on Elga's history and achievements which are what make it notable. All the information is factual and referenced and therefore neutral. It is clearly not exhaustive, no encyclopedia entry is. Do you want me to include a full history of the company, take-overs etc.?
The initial references are to a book published by a reputable publisher. Lorch edited this book but it has chapters by the leading experts in the field of water purification at the time. Later citations are from a wide range of independent sources generally published in peer-reviewed scientific papers.
Elga's notability arises mainly from its development of its water purification products which are used in thousands of research laboratories around the world. I have included a few citations to publications by a few of these laboratories which refer to this use. I assume that you do not want thousands of citations. Do you consider this notability to be sufficient? it is certainly significant. How would you like this notability to be expressed?

The article Phoenix, Arizona you nominated as a good article has passed ; see Talk:Phoenix, Arizona for comments about the article. Well done! If the article has not already been on the main page as an "In the news" or "Did you know" item, you can nominate it to appear in Did you know. I have to admit I thought about it for a while before taking it on, it's a huge article after all. But I also know how it is to wait around for the GA review so I figured if I didn't do it who knows how long it would sit there. I am glad I could help make it a little better, but it had a great foundation to start with. Excellent work. MPJ -US 04:37, 27 March 2016 (UTC)

You are having difficulty accepting that ELGA is notable. The Wikipedia criteria for notability specify a need for significant coverage in reliable independent secondary sources. If the depth of coverage is not substantial then multiple sources should be cited. As I told you, ELGA is referred to as the source of pure water in, literally, thousands of research papers. Why does this not meet the Wikipedia criteria? Paul W1901 ( talk) 20:22, 28 March 2016 (UTC)

Dear Onel5969,
Thank you for reviewing the page I wrote for DR & AJU. I am reposting my response here in case this is the more appropriate space. I can appreciate how busy you are, so I will go straight to your grounds for dismissal and not restate information already provided in the Talk section on the draft page <
/info/en/?search=User:LegalKorea/sandbox/DR_%26_AJU>
Your stated objections:
Since I am employed by this firm, it is logical to assume the intent of the page is advertising. However, the intent was (and is) to provide a vital, neutral point of view where non-Korean reporters and students can find quick background and source material about the firm in English. I openly stated that I was an employee, so readers would know there could be a conflict of interest. I am confident that if you or they recheck the sources cited, you will find, I conveyed the contents accurately. I actually looked for negative reports about the firm to avoid charges of bias. I found nothing negative. Please tell me precisely what reads like advertising, and I will change it if I cannot convince you it is third-party reference material.
12 Reliable published sources cited in References:
Newspaper, magazine articles: Korea-based, Korean-language (3), Korea-based, English-language (2), global publications, English-language (4)
Books: Korea-based, Korean-language (2)
Korean government English-language website (1)
The only information taken from firm publications was the date of incorporation, the number of attorneys, the chief partners and notable members, i.e. the Information Box and Notable Members sections. On other Wikipedia law firm pages this information comes from firm publications. No news agency or author could possess more reliable, up-to-date information than this. I am aware of no other content, taken from the firm's publications. Please let me know what specifically you find questionable, and I will remove it and/or add a third-party source.
This is a valid concern, and another reason I spent several hours researching to make sure the firm complied with Wikipedia's clear and reasonable specifications before making the page. DR & AJU is currently around the 9th largest firm in Korea. It "has a reputation for punching above its weight” (Korea Times article, citation #7). As that and citation 8 prove, the firm has taken on Korea’s largest banks and the U.S. government on behalf of clients with far less clout. Currently DR & AJU has an arbitration case against FIFA on behalf of a player (who happens to have a Wikipedia page). The firm is also in partnership with
Taylor Wessing. Once DR & AJU has a page, it will not be difficult to cross-link with other Wikipedia pages and further prove notability. If the firm has a page, it will be as easy for students or reporters covering high-profile cases to get the same quick access to information about DR & AJU that they can find on the other parties and firms involved. And so we come back to the reason I feel the company needs a Wikipedia page. It handles numerous high-profile cases that generate press in English as well as Korean.
Thank you again for your consideration and any further advice you can give to expedite acceptance.
Sincerely,
LegalKorea (

Hey,
I'm sorry for the confusion - but I'm not fully sure why these sources aren't appropriately independent. Many of these articles are either full on reviews of Gideon King's musical work from independent sources or high level publications like the New York Times writing about statements he released. I have a lot of D-13's discussing Gideon King - would those help establish notability? I'm not sure what else I can put in - these are all the biggest publications that I found that reference him - and as far as I can tell none of these are passing mentions.

Hello Onel5969, I am PaintbrushArt. I am very new to this process and I have a draft Ralph Garafola (artist) that has not been approved. I have added links to show notability however it seems that this is not enough. I had checked other artist pages and they have listed very similar references. Did I show them in the incorrect place? If one googles Ralph Garafola, you see all of these links and images. Can you please be more specific. I have a scrape book with older articles about Ralph Garafola. Would reference to these help? This will take a while to search through. I also saved a page Ralph Garafola in error without any information. I could not delete the page. It appears that this was merged into Ralph Garafola (artist) page. The draft no longer reads (Artist). Can you help fix this so I only have one page. Thank you for your help. Hello again,
Regarding this, I assume my references on prestigious awards/residencies are not enough? Certainly the Robert Wilson residency, the Watermill, Yaddo, and Joan Mitchell are extremely prestigious. There are other references that haven't been placed. Indeed, I'm at a loss to know what objective basis "notability" is. Ms. Cooley is internationally recognized, and has performed throughout the country. What is the quantitative measure and qualitative measure. There are many reviews on the web of performances, and, indeed Ms. Cooley's work has been received with notoriety and acclaim. Also, her animated short, Animalia, is listed on IMDB ( http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1836743/). On the other hand, I don't know if pumping too much is advisable.
Ms. Cooley is at least as notable as a multitude of entries on Wiki.
Thanks in advance for further guidance. Slachutm ( talk) slachutm — Preceding unsigned comment added by Slachutm ( talk • contribs) 17:58, 30 March 2016 (UTC)
Just wanted to say thank you for your feedback Onel5969! Quick question - what if the figure was quoted in the piece but it's not an interview? (Like in the Ottowa Citizen piece?) I want to make this article as strong as possible!
You reverted them because you said to not use "non-U.S. Census estimates." However, for all but one thing, they are all U.S. Census estimates and they can be found on the Census website. The CSA and MSA estimates are verifiable through the Census data. The only thing that's not verifiable through Census data is Denver passing Seattle's population. Please verify the numbers and revert the article to the newest estimates. Thank you.

Thanks for the quick response about the article and thanks in advance for the response,

Hi and thanks for reviewing Draft:Jordan Shlain. It is amazing what another set of eyes can do; when I submitted it I would have insisted it was neutral and encyclopedic. But today, after you declined the article, I re-read it, and I'm kind of embarrassed - the tone was definitely off. I've edited it - I think it's now just the facts. I would appreciate it if you would look at it again, and edit it if you find any issue with NPOV. Thank you again. JSFarman2 ( talk) 18:57, 10 March 2016 (UTC)
Hi Onel5969, I'm apparently struggling with the references/footnotes/citations, etc. There are a bunch to do. Every time I try to save the article it apparently sends it to review again. Thus, I'm doing something wrong, due to my lack of experience with Wiki. I'm sure when I get the hang of it (if ever?), I'll complete her page to your satisfaction. How do I get this ##$%^ system to ignore my errors and not bother you as a reviewer.

Hi,
sorry, I'm not so used to writing wikipedia entries, but I just wonder if I really have to find each TV, radio or newspaper ciritic about this soprano?

This IS a notable photographer but there is a lack of information on him on the Internet, precisely because he has been under represented in the canon of British colour documentary photographers. This should change! He has been in Tate Britain, on the BBC and Martin Parr, arguably Britain's most famous photographer, has called the show at Impressions Gallery in 1979 "Groundbreaking".

Hi there One|5969 Thanks for this advice!! I hope I've done what you said. It took me a bit of time to work it out but I think I have done it.

She is an awardee of Jugal Srimal Award which is given to her by the Central organisation for Children in the Nehru Children Museum Kolkata . Kindly include her name among the child prodigy if not as a general biogrphy page for Wikipedia.

Hello Onel5969,
The page /info/en/?search=Curtain was reverted back and i would like to know the reason behind it. I added an External link that was more than relevant to the page and was very informative. If the reason for the removal does justice, please let me know if that article could be put up in the page where it could help users.
Hello Onel5969, Thanks for the info. Does it mean that websites that sell products are not allowed to list in articles that link to their site?
Hello, I got a message saying that you undid one of my contributions but I've never edited a Wikipedia article in my life. I also just saw that I supposedly made an edit to a Luther Vandross page (??!!) but I didn't either. I don't even have a username. I'm sorry if this has inconvenienced you anyway. Maybe my computer was compromised or my dog sat on my keyboard, I really don't know. How can I avoid this moving forward?
Again, my sincerest apologies.

Hi Onel5969, Thanks for reviewing my would be article on philosopher and historian of German Idealism, Miklos Veto. I would like discuss with you how I might get the article to the point of approval. He is an important contemporary figure; there is no doubt. I have published over 20 academic articles in my five years post PhD, and this is little wikipedia entry is by far the most problematic I have had trying to get approved by editors! I am a little perplexed. Can you give me some clear indication of what needs to be done? Thank you for any help you can provide. Best wishes,

Hi, I'm trying to improve this page: /info/en/?search=Draft:Johannes_Torpe_Studios
You left a note on the previous draft saying that there was not enough evidence of its notability. However, looking through the references, I'm hard put to see what more could possibly be needed. The article is about a company who has designed several famous nightclubs and restaurants, and uses references from respected design magazines, is this not enough?
Thanks for the help,

Hello,
Thanks for reviewing the submission!
Here is the link for reference: /info/en/?search=Draft:Merrithew
Thanks so much for your advice!

Thanks

Thank you for the reply Onel5969. I actually think the tags are to his advantage as I hope it attracts more help to clean it up. OK. Nobility. So that's what we are looking for plus some citation errors. I'll see what I can do to correct some of this. The problem might be some of Dr. Rhodes' work is so specialized that it sometimes sinks into more obscure circles. Again, thank you for the help. I may have more questions later if you don't mind.

Thank you.
