Hello, I noticed that you have a few articles nominated at WP:GAN. If you could review one or more good article nominations to help reduce the backlog and waiting time, it would be greatly appreciated. Help and advice on how to do so is available at Wikipedia:Reviewing good articles, and you can ask for the help of a GAN mentor, if you wish. Thanks, GaryColemanFan ( talk) 20:21, 13 October 2008 (UTC)
Greetings. I haven't been able to be as active as I used to be but I still check in on my watchlist almost daily and saw what's going on with 28N and I can't thank you enough for all your work (you, and the others) on the article as it's being improved during the FAC. Tonight I read through it, it's the first FAC discussion that I've ever looked at. 28N is one of many NYSR route articles I originated, and it's the one that I got off to the best start of any I ever did - I don't think it was ever classified as a stub. I'm proud to know that something I started has progressed as well as it has, and wish I could be able to devote enough time if only my workload and other obligations gave me some time. Perhaps I can drive up on the weekend and get a couple more photographs? Please let me know what I can do that would most constructive and useful. And after 28N, my desire would be to work on NY 30A since that was my very first work. Fwgoebel ( talk) 02:52, 15 October 2008 (UTC)

Dear Mitchazenia,
My Name is Dr Geoff Hay, I am the conference chair for GEOBIA 2008 (www.ucalgary.ca/geobia) and along with my Post-Doctoral fellow (Guillermo Castilla) was responsible for initially building the OBIA and GEOBIA wiki's ( http://wiki.ucalgary.ca/page/GEOBIA) that are running on the University of Calgary website. Please be advised that I copied materials from the Geobia website and UofC wiki's and pasted brief components of them on the GEOBIA wikipedia site so that there would be a brief introduction and link between the worldwide wikipedia site, and the site I run through the university of Calgary. There is no copyright infringement because I wrote the material. Please note that part of it has also recently been published in a book chapter I wrote, and a book I co-edited:
Hay, G. J., and G. Castilla.2008. Geographic Object-Based Image Analysis (GEOBIA): A new name for a new discipline? In: Object-Based Image Analysis – spatial concepts for knowledge-driven remote sensing applications. Eds: T. Blaschke, S. Lang, G. J. Hay. Springer-Verlag. Chapter 1.4, pp. 81- 92.
Since I am the author of this material, I would ask that you please reinstate the GEOBIA wikipedia page that you appear to have removed. If you have any concerns I can be reached at the addresses below.
Thank you for your consideration.

Hey Mitch.. Once upon a time Awadewit and I organized a podcast about copyediting, which was eventually released as part of the NTWW series. We're planning to do another one, since various folks indicated that whatever we put together would be welcome under the NTWW banner. But now I see that the project is changing/ending/something. So I wonder: What do you recommend we do with the podcast we plan to record this weekend? If NTWW is going to Meta (and presumably trying to appeal to a wider audience than just the English Wikipedia), should we talk to the Wikipedia Weekly folks? Thanks in advance for your thoughts. In the afternoon, we will hold a session dedicated to meta:Wikimedia New York City activities, finalize and approve bylaws, interact with representatives from the Software Freedom Law Center, and hold salon-style group discussions on Wikipedia and the other Wikimedia projects (see the June meeting's minutes and the September meeting's minutes).
We'll also review our recent Wikis Take Manhattan event, and make preparations for our exciting successor Wikipedia Loves Art! bonanza, being planned with the Brooklyn Museum for February.
In the evening, we'll share dinner and chat at a local restaurant, and (weather permitting) hold a late-night astronomy event at Columbia's telescopes.
You can add or remove your name from the New York City Meetups invite list at Wikipedia:Meetup/NYC/Invite list.

For your vote at Roman Catholic Church. I am sorry to inform you that we failed FAC but will again be at peer review in a few weeks to sort things out. Hopefully we will make it through next time. We will be contacting all supporters and opposers of the article when we open the next peer review to hopefully get all issues addressed and hashed out before the next FAC try. Thanks again for your time and attention to this important article. NancyHeise talk 01:27, 9 November 2008 (UTC)
Please check this map for any mistakes. I think I got the hamlet/town/village thing down... I marked hamlets with the "unincorporated place" dot-with-slash. For the county seat I made the dot the size of the smallest incorporated city dot so it'd fit in the diamond better. Kinda silly having an unincorporated place as a county seat...I'm pretty sure that'd be illegal here. :) — Scott5114 ↗ [EXACT CHANGE ONLY] 08:08, 10 November 2008 (UTC)
Hiya Mitch,
Hi, Mitch. On Ling.Nut's talk page, you said: "Another part of the problem is a personal bias from the FAC Delegate Director. As I much as I respect her, Sandy is way too biased in her job, often making really bad decisions." I don't want to divert attention at WT:FAC that has now been focused on resolving the festering concerns about crit. 1b of WP:WIAFA, or the separate issues at Ling.Nut's talk page about the Mark Speight FAC, so I was hoping that here, separately, you could give me some examples of what you consider to be my "really bad decisions" and "personal bias" so that I can better understand your concern and how to improve. I'll follow here, regards, SandyGeorgia ( Talk) 04:04, 16 November 2008 (UTC)

Are you counting articles where you were not a primary editor such as New York State Route 430 & New York State Route 426? Do I see one next to your name in terms of number of edits to these page? I should boost my total to about 250 if that is how you count. I see you have submitted several articles for GA in Engineering and Technology (road articles). I also see that many articles have not been reviewed. I submitted Alan Mulally for GA. How about you reviewing mine and I'll review at least one of yours. I will make a scholarly effort to evaluate it (not just a rubber stamp!) and ask you to do the same. If we do this, we'll both get the process moving. I intend to review others but want to start out slow by reviewing one GA only. OK with you? I think one has to go to the article talk page (Alan Mulally in my case) then click on the link to start reviewing articles. Chergles ( talk) 00:53, 5 December 2008 (UTC)

As you rapidly overtake me, I am losing track of what is what. Do you count delisted GARs or promoted FAs and FLs in your 109 total? I am sure you will pass me soon, but remember, my total is only current GAs. I ask because I am trying to figure out if you are at the 2% mark or not?-- TonyTheTiger ( t/ c/ bio/ WP:CHICAGO/ WP:LOTM) 07:05, 16 November 2008 (UTC)
Grasshopper, I have changed my infobox for clarification of the topic at issue.-- TonyTheTiger ( t/ c/ bio/ WP:CHICAGO/ WP:LOTM) 16:56, 16 November 2008 (UTC)

Yo. I've reviewed both
New York State Route 285 and
New York State Route 239 articles and have placed them on hold with recommendations at the talk pages! Cheers

Are you counting articles where you were not a primary editor such as New York State Route 430 & New York State Route 426? Do I see one next to your name in terms of number of edits to these page? I should boost my total to about 250 if that is how you count. I have articles where I have done 30 or 40 edits that I don't even count.-- TonyTheTiger ( t/ c/ bio/ WP:CHICAGO/ WP:LOTM) 08:51, 21 November 2008 (UTC)
What happened here? Are you gonna withdraw the GAN, and put an end to this article-and-not-list business? rst20xx ( talk) 14:40, 22 November 2008 (UTC)

Nice one. Please continue to update the page with anything else you may have, it never hurts to continue to improve an article :) Parrot of Doom ( talk) 22:32, 22 November 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for fixing Holly, can you rate it please? I won't be on wikipedia for the rest of the day probably though.-- Irmela08 16:31, 28 November 2008 (UTC)
I think you would find this from our Australian "sister" chapter informative; it reflects on some of the same ideas we talked about at WP:MEET/NYC.-- Pharos ( talk) 00:43, 1 December 2008 (UTC)

I've passed NY 474 for GA. I'm really not sure I did it correctly. Would you process the Alan Mulally GA nomination and show me the best way to do it? Thanks. Chergles ( talk) 17:46, 6 December 2008 (UTC)
