Hi Mike! I get my Billboard info from their online services. billboard.com usually posts the new number one album on Wednesday afternoon - sometimes they'll also mention the new number one single. As far as other charts go, I am a paid subscriber to the magazine which gives me access to all the charts online, usually on Thursdays, at billboard.biz. I sometimes see wikipedia chart articles updated pretty early - I don't know what other editors' sources are, but my rule of thumb is to not update that stuff til Billboard officially publishes it. -- eo 11:56, 9 March 2006 (UTC)
Hey. Last August you added in the following to the Jim Croce article:
Recently, his widow, Ingrid, was allowed to obtain the permissions from daughter
Heidieh Croce all of his songs. Since then, Ingrid has allowed a PBS special to be made from archive footage as well as footage from the Croce family collection, in order to, in her words, "keep his legacy alive".
I he only references I can find to a daughter are all from wikipedia... Do you remember where you got the information to begin with? It'd be helpful. Anyway, thanks in advance. -- Falcorian (talk) 07:29, 10 March 2006 (UTC)
Jim Croce had a daughter. I confirmed this with his wifes company. I apologize and added Heidieh to his bio. She does exist. Zabadu 22:40, 13 August 2007 (UTC)

I swore I'd never come back to this crazy site, but I'm glad I snuck a peek at my old user page. I'm glad there's at least one person who misses me.
I'm hanging around some other interest-specific wiki sites, especially a radio control wiki at Wikicities which I've been busily adding to. Phroziac is the founder and she made me an admin off the bat and later a bureaucrat, although I haven't used the bureaucrat function. Yet. :) If you swing by this wiki, you can drop me an e-mail since I deleted the e-mail contact info over here. I'll fill you in on all the sordid details.

Shkarter1985 sounds very angry about something, I have no idea what. But, in any case, the Dark Shadows page is back to the version we agreed upon, so my inclination is to let it be.
By the way, the bold on the second mention of Dark Shadows in the intro was intentional, and I think follows wiki policy on article titles, though it is no big deal one way or the other. Rick Norwood 02:10, 19 March 2006 (UTC)

Mike, how can there be a point of view in a school's history such as that one that I wrote? I said nothing controversial, didn't accuse anyone of anything, didn't say anything outrageous, didn't really tell the school's history through anyone's eyes in particular; so why is my version POV? I think you're wrong. As it stands now, the history section reads like a rather dull, uninteresting government report about turnip production or city sanitation. My version at least used interesting language. Face it, it's been dumbed down. Kelisi 04:19, 26 March 2006 (UTC)

I'll say two things. One is a question:
What other conclusion are readers likely to be led to if I include words like "only" or "utterly" in this article (I didn't use the latter anyway)?
The other is a vocabulary lesson:
The word "temperamental" when applied to a device, means "having a tendency to do unexpected things", which is how I meant it. Please check this out if you don't believe me (Definition 3).

Thanks for voting on my RFA. One thing - I don't loathe IRC. I've used it myself a few times when I've needed advice. What I loathe is a policy or decision being made there, as it's unlogged, and I believe Wikipedia should always be fully open in everything that goes on - and especially decision-making processes. Thanks for uploading Image:Cbs.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then there needs to be an argument why we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then it needs to be specified where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{ GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, consider reading fair use, and then use a tag such as {{ Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other media, consider checking that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the " my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. I didn't input any years so I think you have me confused with someone else. All I put were examples of very special episodes. Someone else is putting the years. In my history I'm saying the examples I entered were real because frankly, some of them were out there LOL. But that's how sitcoms used to be back then. But let me say this, I applaud that person for making such an effort. Even if some of the years may be off, I imagine he's put in a lot of work to research every episode and you should cut them some slack. MrBlondNYC 08:32, 18 April 2006 (UTC)

Hi, saw your new infobox there. It makes the succession rather confusing because Jackson served two terms but not in a row. Will you make it more clear? And where you've put a party, the mayor of Atlanta doesn't run with a party affiliation so that's not really accurate. Thanks! Jolomo 14:56, 16 May 2006 (UTC)
Yeah, he was but I'm still not sure the best way to handle this. There was a discussion around the Mayor of Atlanta page where we ended up puting a "no official party affiliation" disclaimer at the top then listed the party by each office-holder -- especially in the 1870s it was interesting to see who was aligned with who. I'm probably out of the loop, is this the standard infobox for mayors or something? It would be a pretty huge undertaking to update all the other articles! Cheers Jolomo 16:58, 16 May 2006 (UTC)

I was a huge fan of Another World, particularly in the 60s, 70s, & early 80s. I stopped watching it in the later years. I was surprised to find your page of Another World actors and have added several that came to my mind. I will add any others that I can think of. DannyBartlett 20 June 2006
I think one thing that distinguishes Another World is that so many of the actors who appeared on the program went on to primetime TV and movies, such as Ray Liotta, Kyra Sedgwick, Morgan Freeman, Faith Ford, Susan Sullivan, Ted Shackelford. I got hooked at the very beginning and stayed with the show for probably 20 years. Danny Bartlett 20 June 2006
It's been nice talking with you. I'm fairly new to Wikipedia and have mainly restricted my activity to editing and correcting errors. I have however created a few new articles, such as the article on Virginia Dwyer (Mary Matthews on AW). Danny Bartlett 19 June 2006
Another person who can be added to the Another World page is Jackee Harry. I tried to do it myself, but I couldn't figure out how to add the accent mark over the first "e" in her name. As I said, I'm sort of a neophyte on Wikipedia, but I do consider myself a good writer. Maybe you can add Jackee Harry's name to the AW page. Danny Bartlett 19 June 2006
Hey Mike. I've written two new articles about two of the original cast members of AW, William Prince and Augusta Dabney. Also wrote an article on Mary Page Keller, one of several actors who played Sally Frame. Danny Bartlett 22 June 2006
Just read your new article on Elizabeth Franz. I had actually forgotten about the Alma Rudder character, but that was a great storyline. Another example of a theatre actress used to great advantage on AW. Danny Bartlett 02 July 2006
Mike, I did watch Guiding Light for several years in the 80s. In fact, at one point I was taping both AW and GL and watching in the evening after I got home from work. A friend at work got me started on GL and after I started watching, I went back and read about the earlier history of the show. I remember the storyline regarding Bert's amputation very well. I had stopped watching by the time Charita Bauer's death was actually incorporated into the storyline, but always wondered why the writers waited so long to address her death. Danny Bartlett 05 July 2006
I hope you don't think that I am encroaching on your territory. I've added three new bios for AW actors -- Richard Bekins (Jamie Frame), James Douglas (actor) (Elliott Carrington), and Nancy Wickwire (Liz Matthews). Danny Bartlett 06 July 2006
My newest articles for AW actors are David O'Brien (Dr. Alan Glaser) and Carol Roux (Melissa Palmer Matthews). Danny Bartlett 11 July 2006
I've read your article on Cathy Greene. My newest are Laurie Heineman (the first Sharlene Frame) and Robert Gentry (actor), who I remember for his role as Philip Lyons. Also wrote one for Gregg Marx who appeared in the early years of Days of Our Lives. I've learned how to do external links. Every day it seems that I'm learning something new. Hey, Mike. I came across three articles this week about former AW actors which did not have the Another World category, so I've added that category to their articles -- Chris Bruno (Dennis Carrington), Shepperd Strudwick (an early Jim Matthews), and Kathleen Widdoes (Rose Perrini). Dbart 15:21, 12 August 2006 (UTC)
I just ran across your new article about Maeve McGuire. Good work!! Dbart 21:08, 16 August 2006 (UTC)
I recently got Harding Lemay's book Eight Years in Another World on interlibrary loan and skimmed through it again. I read it several years ago when it first came out. I enjoyed looking through it again and reading his account, for example, of how he decided to match up Mac and Rachel. He really set the tone of the show during some of its greatest years. Dbart 17:04, 18 August 2006 (UTC)
I was just thinking the other day that I should suggest to you writing an article on Val Dufour. Thanks!! Dbart 13:24, 26 August 2006 (UTC)
I noticed your stub on Susan Harney. I'm fairly certain that I read somewhere years ago that she married AW costar Barry Jenner but I can't find anything to verify that now. Thought maybe you might be on the lookout to see if you could come up with anything. Dbart 13:42, 28 August 2006 (UTC)
I came across an article about actor Mike Minor which needed a lot of revision. When checking his listing at imdb.com, I discovered that he had appeared on AW. I remembered the character once I saw the name, but could never have come up with the name of the actor playing the part. He was sort of a villain, involved in a storyline with Sally Frame and the son she had given up for adoption. Dbart 22:01, 31 August 2006 (UTC)
My newest AW articles are Sharon Gabet (Brittany Peterson) and Fred J. Scollay (Charley Hobson). Dbart 21:00, 8 September 2006 (UTC)
I've written two articles for Guiding Light actors: Larry Gates (H.B. Lewis) and Don Stewart (Mike Bauer). Dbart 21:44, 19 September 2006 (UTC)

It is a beautiful piece of information, and I hope it gets chosen for DYK asap. Besides from congratulating you for it, I simply wanted to drop by to tell you that I have been unable to find any reference to any painting by Georges de La Tour bearing the name Jeannette et Isabelle. The very interesting text you provide as reference mentions a painting by de La Tour, but it doesn't provide a name; and I'm merely curious, is there any chance that, although inspired in the carol, the painting may be named differently? I've taken the liberty to show you the two paintings by Georges de la Tour that feature nativity themes, and I wonder if the one with the two women is the one you're referring to. Dear Mike, once again I must congratulate you on a very interesting and well-researched piece of work. Have you ever been told, you have a natural talent to capture your readers' interest with your choice of subjects and your writing style? Your new article is beautiful, and considering its historical importance, perhaps we should add links to it from other related topics, like Television commercials. A couple of very minor points you may find useful: AFAIK, the campaign started in 1954, not 1955 [1]; and apparently, James Garner narrated the original ad, and once claimed responsibility for the grammar mistake as he misread it the first time [2]. You don't have to add this info if you don't feel it's adequate, but since you have this gift to catch my interest and make me wanna get involved in your researchs... well, I couldn't resist to dig more into it ;) Congrats again, dear Mike, and thanks for asking for my opinion - I am truly flattered! Hey Mike! I may edit like a fiend, but I'm a bit fuzzy on some of the background stuff on Wikipedia.
I think we have a dispute brewing on the Benjamin Hendrickson article and I'm not sure what steps need to be taken next. Any help or advice would be tremendously appreciated - I'm just never dealt with this issue before. Thanks! NickBurns 19:15, 17 July 2006 (UTC)
It seems to me that someone who spends a ton of time writing an article about grammatical correctness, patting himself on the back all the way about what a great article he's written, ought to pay a little more attention to elementary grammatical rules himself, especially in the first sentence of the article. Plus, of course, your thin-skinness about a minor correction reveals -- what? I dunno. Perhaps you just shouldn't be working in WP.... Hayford Peirce 05:11, 18 July 2006 (UTC)

Sonds like a great idea to start working on, dear Mike - I've been doing some research after getting your message (sorry I didn't reply right away, I was on a short trip until Thursday and I'm just now resuming my editing). There's plenty of online info we can use, including some adds and spots. I'm afraid you're right re. its presence in the public's mind tho, as it was nowhere as popular as the Winston campaign; but it's still another very interesting piece of Americana with much to be said and shown. I'll be going on and off most of the weekend, but I'll focus on this on Sunday, so if you wanna get started, be my guest! :) Otherwise, I'll let you know as soon as I do, k? I see what you're saying but that's a rather silly reason to separate them, don't you think? They're the same song - one could redirect to the other.... set it up just like all the other song articles in WP covered by different artists. Bananarama covered the song as well and released it as a single, although I don't know if they used commas. Sometimes song titles get abbreviated or parenthesis are added in the remake, etc. Should "Oh, Pretty Woman" by Roy Orbison and "(Oh) Pretty Woman" by Van Halen have separate articles? -- eo 00:51, 23 July 2006 (UTC)

Sorry about the belated reply, dear Mike - but I think I don't have to tell you how frantic these last days have been, and my vacation is over, ahhhh! :( Anyway, I wished to tell you that I loved your article... then again, I'm biased, I like "everything" you write! OK, time to get serious - I've been researching on the Tareyton campaign, if you're still interested in the subject (you can count on me helping if you do!) and there's quite enough material for a solid article, imho. Check this out, here, here, here (we have a commercial available as well at this site), here (another spot too!), and many, many more. I've been working on a tiny sketch to get started, I can make a stub to kickstart it if you wish. BTW, Mike, thanks so much for your incredibly hot words you-know-where - they meant the world to me :) Hope you're doing great! I'm so very super mage ultra sorry, dear Mike, I'm coming, I'm coming! In fact, I just sat in front of the comp after getting up a short while ago (I'm doing the night shift this week, yuck!), and I wanted to reply many many messages, and get to work on the article too... only to find out that the "short stub" has turned into an already AWESOME piece of work! :) You are incredible, buddy! ;) Just gimme 5 mins, and I'll get to work on the templates before you can say "Us Tareyton smokers taste good like a"... no, wait, that's not right... anyway, congrats again on yet another beautiful article, I'm on it! :) Hugs, Phaedriel ♥ The Wiki Soundtrack!♪ - 20:04, 2 August 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading Image:Davidletterman.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image is unlicensed for use on Wikipedia and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the " my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Thanks for uploading Image:Stpetetimesforum.JPG. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be a justification explaining why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{ GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{ Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ccwaters 16:01, 28 November 2006 (UTC)

Shkarter1985 sounds very angry about something, I have no idea what. But, in any case, the Dark Shadows page is back to the version we agreed upon, so my inclination is to let it be.

Dbart 21:51, 19 July 2006 (UTC)
Check out my latest article about actor Alec Mapa. Dbart 20:07, 27 July 2006 (UTC)

Dear Mike, first of all, please allow me to tell you that I enjoyed your very much learning from your article Bring a Torch, Jeanette, Isabella. Again, congrats on your beautiful work, and I hope to talk with you someday. Have a great weekend, Phædriel ♥ tell me - 23:14, 14 July 2006 (UTC)

Mike! That's an amazing article! You could even say "That's Hot!" :) I quite enjoyed it, and it's awesome to see you stretching the envelope of what you work on.
We have someone who is reverting the details of his death out of the article, and their comments in edit summary are getting increasingly nasty.
