I have had to delete your submission on gunpowder, because it was... it was really not an encyclopedia article. I'm not sure what it was, perhaps it might have been better placed in a scholarly journal?
Also, your submission on La Celestina - I don't think that one was really appropriate either, but I'm less certain; that's why it's in your userspace now (instead of in mainspace).
I am extremely busy today and will not have time to discuss these decisions with you until Sunday; I'm sure another administrator will be willing to help if need be. DS ( talk) 13:33, 18 September 2009 (UTC)
I was wondering why you deleted/moved my two files! Did I miss a warning? You have explained both cases clearly, but you may not judge an unfinished article The User:Mcapdevila/Catalan gunpowder it appears in the 120 volumes ESPASA Enciclopedia (WIKI pretends to substitute paper Enciclopediae!!)I did not enter the reference but I will
The User:Mcapdevila/The catalan Celestina, Dr. Garcia Valdecasas (Dr. n law & Dean of Bologna University) has proven the author was fron Aragon for the rest the books that backup the theory are referred and available in libraries

Thank you for caring about my fiancee; however, you misunderstood what I posted (although, in all fairness, I was not thinking too clearly when I posted it).
Yes, she was in a coma. But then she stopped being in a coma.
There are two ways that someone can stop being in a coma:
you can wake up.... or you can die. And she did not wake up.
To repeat, though - thank you for caring. DS ( talk) 00:03, 21 September 2009 (UTC)
I think I have corrected all the issues... They were unfinished... But on the other hand...
Do you think anyone can consider being my own work, the fact of publishing works from other people already published in encyclopediae or research books 5, 30 or 80 years ago? (80 years ago I wasn't even born) The only thing I shouldn't do is to draw my own conclusions, but this is not the case, for I just publish assertions from other people's works already published in other books or encyclopediae

I noticed you put a panorama section on this page. I've made some changes, and opened a discussion here, if you wish to comment. Regards, Xyl 54 ( talk) 15:30, 6 October 2011 (UTC)
notice the article has aquired a panorama; I've moved it down, as it was too obtrusive parked in the middle of the History section. I've also converted it to a normal image file.
The caption there (and on the image) said "At least two catalan flags hoisted on two Armada ships against what it has been said officially in the spanish records" which seems prety dubious, so I've brought it here for discussion.
I presume it refers to the red-striped flag on the foreground ship; is there any evidence this flag represents Catalonia? The figure referred to as Elizabeth I has the same flag, as does the ship ahead of the galleass, together with the flag of St George; so I'd hazard a guess the flag in question represents England. And the
List of ships of the Spanish Armada doesn't mention a Catalan squadron. Does anybody know any more about this?

(I've moved these down, per Talk page guidelines; contributions should be in chronological order. Second image converted to File, and signed using "unsigned" template. Xyl 54 ( talk) 13:49, 8 October 2011 (UTC))
So now the caption reads
"A painting of
Nicholas Hilliard (who fought in the battle), showing the "Invincible Armada" sailing off the "cliffs" of the coast of Cornwall (mistaken by some authors, for the Gravelines coast, wich has no "cliffs" at all). At least two Spanish flags hoisted on two Armada ships, one in the center of the picture. (Not to be confused with that of Elizabeth I watching from ashore)."
which is pretty
pointy.
It is also
Original Research; what is the source for any of the statements made? The only neutral thing that can be said out of this is that it is a painting by
Nicholas Hilliard, and that it depicts the Armada.
So I suggest the caption "“The Armada” by
Nicholas Hilliard". OK?

…for recent extensive edits that focus on the sources. Note in particular, that there is a problem noted with, 1, the lack of sources in general, and 2, the use of original sources, where it is difficult or impossible to identify the article material in the original, non-English language source. Whatever help you can offer is appreciated. Also, note, two images were swapped that were identical to the two appearing before, that simply had a watermark type of text inscription removed (because this is less appropriate in wikipedia). Great work, and thanks for good referencing… Note nearly all content -- including the sentence about multiple sandglass apparati -- were already there, in the article, when I arrived. If you are sure that or other content is wrong, remove it -- but otherwise leave it in and create a section in talk to discuss the change.
Otherwise, I have one request -- make sure in all cases, that all content in the lead (lede, opening, introduction) also appears later in the main body of the article, and then -- this is important -- put the citations in the main body, not the lead. This is a request, from me, a fellow editor that has worked here.
Bottom line, the article is much improved in content and sourcing, and I am happy for your return and contributions. Cheers. 12.49.20.42 ( talk) 23:19, 3 November 2014 (UTC)

Hi there.
When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled " Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:
Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)
The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.
Filling in the edit summary field greatly helps your fellow contributors in understanding what you changed, so please always fill in the edit summary field. If you are adding a section, please do not just keep the previous section's header in the Edit summary field – please fill in your new section's name instead. A tag has been placed on LED lightpad, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Hi Mcapdevila, I'm afraid there is no such thing as a 'portolan projection'. Also, the text you show about portolan charts is no longer part of the present mainstream research on the subject. If you are interested, here are some links to relevant (and relatively recent) scholarly works on portolan charts: [1], [2], [3]. The last one (no free copy, sorry) is written in Catalan by Ramón Pujades, from Barcelona. But if you are really interested in the subject, here is an announcement of an academic meeting that will take place in Lisbon, next year: [4]. best regards from Lisbon, Alvesgaspar ( talk) 09:09, 22 October 2015 (UTC)
Mcapdevila, sorry to keep reverting you, but a discussion should be in only one place. As they point out in Step 2: Tag the relevant pages, "Please use the discuss parameter to direct to the same talk page. Otherwise, two separate discussions could take place in each of the respective talk pages." Both merge tags point to the discussion at Talk:Portolan chart, and in Talk:Rhumbline network I also provide a link to the discussion. RockMagnetist( talk) 16:08, 22 October 2015 (UTC)

I was checking out Category:History for cleanup since people often put way too specific of articles in there, and I noticed that you'd labeled several articles with just the basic "History" category in the last few months. Wikipedia categories aren't like hashtags, you don't want to just use the broadest possible category, you want to use the most specific categories possible. So a book about navigation in Barcelona should not be categorized as "Books", "History", "Spain", but instead "Works about the history of Barcelona", "Books about geography", "History of navigation", etc.
Can you please look at some of your past articles and see if you're using too broad of categories? As a general rule, only extremely broad articles should be in major overarching categories. So if you have anything labeled "History", "Spain", "Books", etc. please refine it down to narrower cats. Thanks! MatthewVanitas ( talk) 14:44, 18 January 2016 (UTC)

Hello, Mcapdevila,
I wanted to let you know that there's a discussion about whether History of the sword should be deleted. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/History of the sword .
If you're new to the process, articles for deletion is a group discussion (not a vote!) that usually lasts seven days. If you need it, there is a guide on how to contribute. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

The article Tiva-C LaunchPad has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Doesn't mean notability guidelines, and is written like a product brief or advertisement. Only one citation is from a party not directly related to Texas Instruments. I don't believe this article has merit to be on Wikipedia.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your
edit summary or on
the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the
proposed deletion process, but other
deletion processes exist. In particular, the
speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and
articles for deletion allows discussion to reach
consensus for deletion.

Your article Hommes et plantes is clearly not ready for mainspace and has been moved to draft. There isn’t a single reference among the eight citations that demonstrates notability of the topic, and if it isn’t notable, we cannot have an article about it. See Talk for further details.

I have had to delete your submission on gunpowder, because it was... it was really not an encyclopedia article. I'm not sure what it was, perhaps it might have been better placed in a scholarly journal?

notice the article has aquired a panorama; I've moved it down, as it was too obtrusive parked in the middle of the History section.

OK?

Hello M Capdevila,
I am Robin Berting, the Admissions and Community Relations Coordinator at ASB. As you have pointed out, I am inexperienced with wikipedia. However, it is important for us that the correct information about the school be posted so I have attempted to post it. If you feel that it can be improved technically in any way, please let me know. If you have any other comments or suggestions, I am welcome to having a productive dialogue with you.

Hi, I'm Bryanrutherford0. Mcapdevila, thanks for creating Lettering guide!
I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix. Thanks for the new article! More references that give the article context and demonstrate the topic's notability will help.
The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can leave a comment on my talk page. Or, for more editing help, talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse. Bryanrutherford0 ( talk) 04:10, 27 July 2013 (UTC)

Thank you.-- 220 of Borg 14:01, 6 January 2015 (UTC)

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Huion (company) is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.
The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Huion (company) until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion.

Hello, Mcapdevila. Voting in the 2016 Arbitration Committee elections is open from Monday, 00:00, 21 November through Sunday, 23:59, 4 December to all unblocked users who have registered an account before Wednesday, 00:00, 28 October 2016 and have made at least 150 mainspace edits before Sunday, 00:00, 1 November 2016.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your
edit summary or on
the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the
proposed deletion process, but other
deletion processes exist. In particular, the
speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and
articles for deletion allows discussion to reach
consensus for deletion.

Left a comment on the talk page of your draft; it seems to have ended up in the talk page for the redirect. What I said was that I don't think it is appropriate to have a section on aircraft since there are many many aircraft which only existed as single prototypes. Hi I've just reviewed an article you wrote, Coining press. I’ve also added a translation template to the talk page. If you translate an article from another language wiki it’s important to add this template to the talk page so that the copyright attribution is preserved. All the best! could you add the full references? Because right now it's impossible to know what those refer to.
Also, if you install Svick's script, per these instructions, you'll automatically be notified of this type of problems in article. Headbomb { t · c · p · b} 16:52, 13 May 2020 (UTC)

Hello Mcapdevila,
I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Mcapdevila/Carles Castellanos i Llorenç for deletion, because it's a redirect that seems implausible or is an unlikely search term.
If you don't want Mcapdevila/Carles Castellanos i Llorenç to be deleted, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.
You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

I see an edit summary on
One-off vehicle that says Undoing 81.99.82.214 deletions proposal.. which must be done by a registered user
. That statement is incorrect. IP users can file deletion proposals. There is no rule anywhere in the english Wikipedia that says only registered users can propose articles for deletion.

Hello. You've attempted to delete the article José Luis Espejo Pérez, created in 2022, by moving it to User:José Luis Espejo Pérez (non-existent user), and then attempting to blank it there. This is not the right way to nominate an article for deletion: for the right way, please see Wikipedia:Articles for deletion. You've now created a mess for administrators to clean up. Please don't do it again. Thank you. Wikishovel ( talk) 14:33, 26 March 2024 (UTC)
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Hommes et plantes requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about web content that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Hi Mcapdevila. Thank you for your work on Carglass. Another editor, Klbrain, has reviewed it as part of new pages patrol and left the following comment:
As ever with brands, it's worth considering whether this is worth discussing separately, or with its owner Belron. Most other European companies have gone with a separate page, and this seems reasonable here too.

Your article Hommes et plantes is clearly not ready for mainspace and has been moved to draft. There isn’t a single reference among the eight citations that demonstrates notability of the topic, and if it isn’t notable, we cannot have an article about it. See Talk for further details.
As a second issue: when you translate articles from Spanish [sic] Wikipedia you must provide attribution according to Wikipedia’s licensing requirements. See WP:CWW and WP:RIA. Thanks, Mathglot ( talk) 15:48, 19 May 2024 (UTC)
