Hi, Max! Bundling RFE with Siberia is a common mistake, which I would not be surprised to expect from an American, but not from a Russian like you. The area from the Urals to the Pacific Ocean is not Siberia, it's the Asian part of Russia.
The correct (geographical) definition of Siberia is "a territory in between Urals mountains and the mountain ridges of the Pacific watershed". While this includes the Sakha Republic (and yes — it was my mistake not to include it when making the original edit of the article), it does not include the rest of the RFE (you sure would not want to be caught saying that Primorsky Krai is a part of Siberia, would you?).
Now, from the historic point of view RFE is considered to be a part of Siberia. This fact is well worth mentioning in the article to avoid confusion in the future. This also seems to be the point of view adopted by most of the western encyclopedias (Webster, for one). Still, using a historic definition instead of a proper geographical definition is not right in an article where Siberia is discussed primarily as a geographic object.
I hope this addresses your concerns. I am going to re-edit the article later today — feel free to review and please let me know if you disagree with any points outlined above.-- Ëzhiki 13:54, Jul 22, 2004 (UTC)
Anyway I cannot agree with you just because B&E is older than BSE, it's not an argument. What I suggest to you when you change this article - please make a note that according of some sources and opinions Siberia is the whole Asian part of Russia, but sometimes several parts of it like Altai and Far East for example are considered as a separate parts, not included in it. Hi, I've started a drive to get users to multi-license all of their contributions that they've made to either (1) all U.S. state, county, and city articles or (2) all articles, using the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike (CC-by-sa) v1.0 and v2.0 Licenses or into the public domain if they prefer. The CC-by-sa license is a true free documentation license that is similar to Wikipedia's license, the GFDL, but it allows other projects, such as WikiTravel, to use our articles. Since you are among the top 2000 Wikipedians by edits, I was wondering if you would be willing to multi-license all of your contributions or at minimum those on the geographic articles. Over 90% of people asked have agreed. For More Information:
To allow us to track those users who muli-license their contributions, many users copy and paste the "{{DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual}}" template into their user page, but there are other options at Template messages/User namespace. The following examples could also copied and pasted into your user page:
OR
Or if you wanted to place your work into the public domain, you could replace "{{DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual}}" with "{{MultiLicensePD}}". If you only prefer using the GFDL, I would like to know that too. Please let me know what you think at my talk page. It's important to know either way so no one keeps asking. -- Ram-Man ( comment| talk)
Dobry D'en, Max! Thought you might like to know there is now a separate geography stub template especially for Russian-related geography articles: {{Russia-geo-stub}} . I've been busily sifting through the (4000!) geo stubs, trying to cut them down to a more easily dealt with number by putting about half of them into subcategories, and having one for Russia seemed logical. I noticed your name cropping up a lot in the edit historiees of Russian geo stubs, so I though I'd let you know about this. I've also put it on the Russian Wikipedians' Notice Board, but if you can think of anywhere else to put it to let people know it's there to be used, please do so. Thanks!

I love you all and I am really grateful to you.

Нет, там написано прямо противоположное: "You should pardon Dart evader for blocking him. You should block the user, who published IRL data about him". Ну так что, вы будете выполнять рекомендацию стюарда касательно "You should block the user, who published IRL data about him"? :-))) Dart evader 17:39, 26 March 2006 (UTC)

No problem. It was a little rough, but a decent start nevertheless. Maybe if you were actually writing here, you'd start getting better and better, but I guess we already tried mutually recruiting one another for "our" language projects without much success :)) Anyway, it was no inconvenience whatsoever. The only thing is if you are going to write Russia-related articles again, could you, please, announce them here (I already added Ushayka)? Thanks!— Ëzhiki (Igels Hérissonovich Ïzhakoff-Amursky) • ( yo?); 13:38, 18 October 2006 (UTC)
No, you are not wrong; we eventually figured it out. There was an error in OKATO (still is), and I didn't read the document I cited too carefully myself. I know, I know, shame on me... Thanks anyway!— Ëzhiki (Igels Hérissonovich Ïzhakoff-Amursky) • ( yo?); 04:33, 17 November 2006 (UTC)
I don't really like either the new or the old name, but since the purpose of categories on Commons is different from that here in Wikipedia, I understand that convenience might be more important than 100% factual accuracy. I much doubt there can be one obvious name applicable to all kind of inhabited localities of the world, and having customized cat names for each country would just defeat the purpose of easy categorization of the images. As long as its intuitively apparent where to look for the images one needs, the system should work just fine. Of course, that's not the approach we'd like to see implemented in an encyclopedia, but for the Commons the simplified naming convention (i.e., "cities in...") should be OK.
By the way, I couldn't find where the discussion page for that particular move is located. It'd be interesting to see what others think. Is there such a page at all, or should I be looking for a more generalized discussion (not just about Russia's categories)? Thanks!— Ëzhiki (Igels Hérissonovich Ïzhakoff-Amursky) • ( yo?); 13:27, 26 December 2006 (UTC)

Hi!
My name is Victor and I'm a storyteller with the Wikimedia Foundation, the non-profit organization that supports Wikipedia. I'm chronicling the inspiring stories of the Wikipedia community around the world, including those from readers, editors, and donors. Stories are absolutely essential for any non-profit to persuade people to support the cause, and we know the vast network of people who make and use Wikipedia have so much to share.
I'm scouring user pages looking for inspiring, motivating and interesting stories of how Wikipedia has affected the lives of people. I'm asking questions like "How has Wikipedia changed your life?", "What's the most interesting story you have about Wikipedia?" and "Has Wikipedia ever surprised you?"
Last year, we used the annual fundraiser as a way to show the world who it is who actually writes Wikipedia. We featured editors from Brazil, Ukraine, Argentina, Saudi Arabia, Kenya, India, United States and England. This campaign was a huge success, resulting in the most financially successful fundraising campaign ever. It was also a campaign that stayed true to the spirit of Wikipedia, educating the public that this free top-5 website is created by volunteers like you and I.
This year we want to highlight more Russian-language Wikipedia editors, so I am in the process of planning a trip to Russia to interview editors.
If you or someone you know (or have heard about) has been positively affected by Wikipedia, or have something interesting to say about Wikipedia I'd very much like to hear about it!
Please let me know if you're inclined to take part in the Wikipedia Stories Project, or if you know someone else with whom I should speak.
Of course, if you have any questions or concerns, please ask! I will answer as soon as I can. I apologize for any poor translation of this letter, I am using Google-translate. I hope it makes you laugh :)
Thank you for your time,
Victor Grigas

Take care. Regards, Grandmaster 13:40, 9 February 2006 (UTC)
-- Obersachse 17:55, 9 February 2006 (UTC)
I have a lot of respect for your decision to block yourself, although I think you've punished yourself too strong (but it's up to you to decide, of cource). I hope you'll enjoy your wikivacation and I'll be glad to meet you on Russian wiki again later. Kneiphof 22:18, 9 February 2006 (UTC)
Hi, Max. I would appreciate if you could comment on ru:Википедия:Этика администрирования.-- ACrush ?!/ © 07:18, 26 February 2006 (UTC)
I always welcome to peace. Thank you for your words. This is great.

Hi, Max!

Hi, thanks for your voting on my RFA. It has finished with the result 88/14/9, and I am promoted. I am really overwhelmed with the amount of support I have got. With some of you we have edited many articles as a team, with some I had bitter arguments in the past, some of you I consider to be living legends of Wikipedia and some nicks I in my ignorance never heard before. I love you all and I am really grateful to you.
If you feel I can help you or Wikipedia as a human, as an editor or with my newly acquired cleaning tools, then just ask and I will be happy to assist. If you will feel that I do not live up to your expectation and renegade on my promises, please contact me. Maybe it was not a malice but just ignorance or a short temper. Thank you very much, once more! abakharev 07:34, 24 February 2006 (UTC)

16:36, 31 March 2006 (UTC)
Hi, Max! You probably were not aware of this new trend, which is now in vogue here on en, when you made this edit. Not a big deal, but just thought I'd let you know. Thanks!— Ëzhiki (ërinacëus amurënsis) • ( yo?); 12:12, 30 May 2006 (UTC)
Hi, Max! I thought you might be interested in this discussion. The question surfaced as a result of a similar discussion at Talk:Subdivisions of Ukraine. If you have time, I will very much appreciate your insights.— Ëzhiki (Igels Hérissonovich Ïzhakoff-Amursky) • ( yo?); 12:19, 20 July 2006 (UTC)
Hi, Max! Just wanted to let you know that I nominated administrative divisions of Adygea for FL. Since it's a pilot list, it's important to me that as many people as possible leave feedback. If you could spare a minute or two of your time, I'd much appreciate it. Since you expressed interest in these kinds of lists in the past, I hope it's not going to be a chore for you :)— Ëzhiki (Igels Hérissonovich Ïzhakoff-Amursky) • ( yo?); 15:56, 5 January 2007 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current
Arbitration Committee election. The
Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia
arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose
site bans,
topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The
arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to
review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on
