Hi. Do you really need an explanation to understand that Toral was only part of the youth teams of Barcelona? Perhaps the Category:FC Barcelona players is not understood, and even a basketball player of the club enters it. But I understand that it refers to the players of the first team. There are other categories for Barça B, C, etc. -- Zigurat ( talk) 22:53, 28 April 2019 (UTC)
Quick question - as I cannot remember the answer. What's the situation with appearances in play-off games - do these go into the infobox under league appearances - or are they 'Other' games for this purpose and stored under 'other' for club appearances in the club stats section with a footnote to explain? Thanks, Zanoni ( talk) 11:13, 29 April 2019 (UTC)

This message was sent to all administrators following a recent motion. Thank you for your attention. For the Arbitration Committee, Cameron11598 02:35, 4 May 2019 (UTC)
ArbCom would like to apologise and correct our previous mass message in light of the response from the community.
Since November 2018, six administrator accounts have been compromised and temporarily desysopped. In an effort to help improve account security, our intention was to remind administrators of existing policies on account security — that they are required to "have strong passwords and follow appropriate personal security practices." We have updated our procedures to ensure that we enforce these policies more strictly in the future. The policies themselves have not changed. In particular, two-factor authentication remains an optional means of adding extra security to your account. The choice not to enable 2FA will not be considered when deciding to restore sysop privileges to administrator accounts that were compromised.
We are sorry for the wording of our previous message, which did not accurately convey this, and deeply regret the tone in which it was delivered.
For the Arbitration Committee, - Cameron11598 21:04, 4 May 2019 (UTC)
Hello there,
i reinstated the Championship honour (now) with a source, but am not sure of the rules enforced in this competition regarding the number of appearances needed for a winners' medal. If Mr. Pinto's three matches do not grant him such, please re-remove the accolade and sorry for any inconvenience.
Speaking of honours, i don't think calling the 2012 Supercupa României non-notable (third competition in Romania, he played match from start to end) is accurate. I would understand if you thought runner-up finishes were not important and thus remove them all, but you left the Cupa României; what's the difference, because i fail to see it?

This IP address, when I've had a look through the contributions dated today, has done similar types of editing to a huge number of other players as well as the English players upon the mass reverting.
Having a look at the talk page of the IP address, the user has been warned enough past your "only warning" TW message. The IP address continues to do this after your messages to e.g. Scottish, Chilean + Dutch players and is unlikely to understand the warnings.

Hey Mattythewhite,
I noticed the international goals weren't listed for both Boghossian and Guivarc'h, despite their pages showing that both of them have had at least one int'l goal, so I looked at the French national team results to find and add their goals to each player's pages. Just read the Telegraph source and indeed it seems Mr. Llorente really made his presence felt, reinstated text with the proper display and language. But the question stands: if this does not constitute WP:OVERDETAIL, what does (the subject has been in this type of situations in many many matches, most of them described in the storyline, what's relevant in the clash against Ajax?)?

Apologies for apparently inappropriately removing runner-up status. I have noticed inconsistency on this across multiple pages, many players/managers do not seem to have runner-up position included for cups, although some do. If it is the case that runner-up should be included as standard, would it be suitable for me to correct this if I notice it elsewhere?
Thank you. Vaze50 ( talk) 00:00, 2 June 2019 (UTC)
Hi. I understand where you're coming from regarding Antonio Rüdiger's honours page, but it will be difficult to find a source which definitely proves whether or not Rüdiger in fact received an Europa League winners' medal seeing as he didn't travel with the squad to the final due to injury, and therefore didn't take a part in the medal ceremony. Although I know that there is constant debate over whether Supercup titles should be credited to certain players who weren't included in the squad for the final, which I undertand as in that case only one match is played, there has never been a case where a player who wasn't in the official UEFA squad for the knock-out stages didn't receive a winners' medal , or wasn't credited with a European club competition title at least; UEFA club cometitions are different from cup finals in the UK in that regard, in which only players named to the final squad receive medals, regardless of whether they appeared earlier on in the competition. As I mentioned before, John Terry and Eden Hazard still have their respective 2012 UEFA Champions League Final and 2013 UEFA Europa League Final winners' medals listed in their honours page, and the source for Hazard's medal just mentions that he was ruled out of the final, not that he still received a medal (but he did appear earlier on in the competition). Terry's source has his UEFA profile with the two UEFA titles he won listed, even though he didn't feature in either final, but Rudiger's UEFA Profile is different and doesn't include any titles on it. I understand not listing the honours for players who only appeared in the Europa League for Chelsea in the first half of the 2018–19 season, as they weren't registered in the UEFA list for the knock-out stages (and only featured in the group stage), and usually they aren't credited with winning a title in that case (especially as before players could only be registered in Europe with one club for an entire season, hence why Ronaldo never picked up a Champions League medal with Milan in 2007), but it seems a bit excessive to remove the title from Rudiger's page when historically this has never been done. And if that's the case, then titles should be removed from many other players' pages as well (like Gary Neville not being in the squad for the 2008 UEFA Champions League Final due to injury, or Paul Scholes and Roy Keane for being suspended from playing the 1999 UEFA Champions League Final with Manchester United), which would be quite difficult. I don't know if it would be best to open a discussion in this case. The only information I can find is found in [ this official UEFA source regarding the final], which states under the subheading "What does the winner get?" that "there are 40 [winners'] medals for players and staff." I don't know if that helps or not. Best regards, Messirulez ( talk) 20:24, 30 May 2019 (UTC)

It goes without saying that (for example) in the infobox we must write in numbers (5 caps, 7 goals, etc), but in the wording it's preferable to write "five", "seven" no (only switching to numbers when dealing with double digits)? I keep being taught a lesson (according to the editor in question) in WP:MOS, but i think they are mistaken in that approach (see for example Jonathan Ruiz (footballer, born 1982)).

I think you have made a mistake reverting my edits, I will use the example of Ruben Loftus-Cheek, he actually played and was active in Chelsea’s Europa League campaign, just because he did not play in the final doesn’t mean he’ll lose all credit for his activity in the tournament, he was named in the official Chelsea squad for the tournament. Chelsea won the final, making Loftus-Cheek as much as a champion as Eden Hazard who scored twice. Regardless of contributions made to their success, every player on both Chelsea’s winning squad and Arsenal’s runner-up squad deserve the honour, as long as they were named in the official squad for the tournament. Also regarding that “unreliable” source, it’s UEFA’s official website man! How much more reliable can it get? TheSoccerBoy ( talk) 15:38, 30 May 2019 (UTC)
Hi there, Matty.
I see you frequently remove heights for footballers when it isn't explicitly sourced (inline). WP:USI states: 1. "When information is unsourced, and it is doubtful any sources are available for the information, it can be boldly removed", 2. "If you think a source can be found, but you do not wish to supply one yourself, you can add the template {{fact}}", 3. "Negative unsourced information about living people shall be removed immediately, as per Wikipedia's biographies of living people policy, without the use of such a template". 1. usually does not apply, sources like Soccerway, NFT and Worldfootball.net usually include height in their player profiles. I don't see how inaccurate height can be seen as "negative" (3.). Wouldn't it be better add a "citation needed" template then (2.)?
At Kévin Constant both Soccerway and NFT were already in use and both supported the height which you removed? May I ask why you chose to remove height instead of reusing the references?

Whilst a "running commentary" of goals is not the best thing to entirely comprise a season summary. The information is encyclopedic and therefore should not have been removed. Plus goals are a significant part of a footballers career especially significant ones such as the derby winner. In addition the club career section is in desperate need of an update as nothing has been wrote there for the past two season and the list of goals is a good place to start in summary of the past two years and allows for further expansion. In regards to the season headers quite alot of footballers pages uses season headers in their career section as it allows for easier reading and provides better division in the section than the arbitrary ones which currently exist there. In addition the also lengthen the page which reduces image clutter which has only been made worse by reverting the edit so all images are on the same side of the page. Thanks. By the way, please don't think i'm also IP hopping, the first one in this original message is from my place of work, the second from my home. Both are static, until further notice that is.
On a related note, i'd better stop engaging in conversation (especially if heated) with this individual, that could do nothing else but aggravate them. -- 81.193.141.118 ( talk) 15:48, 27 June 2019 (UTC)
P.S. Not that i think it will change anything (person will most likely not read it due to the vast array of IPs, or if they do they will not care one bit), but to compensate my verbal faux pas in one of the messages i went to the last address found in Mr. Martí's edit history and apologised for calling the person a "punk" (not aggressive at all, but not very courteous as well i admit it). This ceases all communication with the other part, i promise.

On a related note (same article), sorry i made you cleanup the display of titles again, but i operated a blanker revert because of said nuisance, then proceeded to add honours where the citations existed. Hi, it's me Onbec. First of all, I'd to say that it is not possible to source a category. Some has no explanations. For instance, no where in the article it is written that his father is Dominican, but he is still classified under "Canadian people of Dominican descent". But if you need justifications I'm willing to provide you some. First of all, Hamel is a French last name and here [1] it is said that she's as well Canadian. In this article written in French, it is said that his grand-father was the organist of the Nordiques team [2] which was Jean-Yves Hamel. On his death certificate it is mentioned that he was the father of Christine Hamel, [3] the mother of Anthony Jackson-Hamel. His ancestors were clearly French Quebecers and of French descent. How's that? Now with the source added. Apologies, I'm new to Wikipedia and still working it all out. Someone else was editing the page at the same time as me, I'm assuming it's kept both our changes? Sorry to disagree, but the dimensions of an image are perfectly legitimate reasons for removal - the original uploader of that image should have re-sized to an appropriate size in the first place before uploading. When this page is viewed on any platform (mobile, desktop) has a considerable gap between the the Career Statistics heading and the table itself and looks poor/unprofessional and not in-line with other player page layouts. If you have an issue with the image, then you should take this up with the original uploader and ask him to re-size it.
Unless you are happy with people uploading oversized images, then this would set a good example by removing it. Please do not turn this into a bigger issue than it needs to be, I have made legitimate points and unless another reason is provided which justifies the image in its current size being included, then I will re-edit and remove it shortly. If you still intend to maintain that it isn't a valid reason for removal (which it would be on any other website which values presentation), please point me in the direction of where on WP:FOOTY it has specific rules/consensus on image sizes where it overrides common sense.
Sorry for the lengthy message, but if this is really an issue you want to escalate, I'm prepared to do so. Just like you, I put in lots of hours formatting, editing, writing, improving pages and this seems a a very simple, common sense matter. Hope you agree. FilthyDon ( talk) 21:19, 1 July 2019 (UTC)

Apparently, the stalking situation (the other user may refer to it as "cleanup" or "monitoring", same thing no?) cannot be resolved. Both my IPs (work and home) are also now under heavy scrutiny and my wiki-heart is torn to shreds, time to leave (for REAL now, time to waste other people's time over this!) because this is unbearable; apparently, the other party believes i am the only football editor here that needs constant cleaning up. In 13 YEARS...
Goodbye and all the best Matty, thanks for your assistance and patience throughout the years (i believe it was you, :@ Struway2: and :@ GiantSnowman: who initially helped me out and showed me how to proceed here). Also (i know i will forget some people but alas!), a shoutout to the likes of :@ Drmies:, :@ MYS77:, :@ Fcbjuvenil:, :@ SLBedit: (all last three spoke my language and helped me here and there), :@ Mega60: (spoke next to no English, but his invaluable help to several Spanish football articles cannot go unmentioned, also a regular contributor at BDFUTBOL.com he once told me), :@ 8Dodo8: and several of his Romanian compatriots, :@ Jaellee: (great "dictionary help" while i worked on German football(ers)! A kind salute also to his countryman :@ Kante4:), :@ Crowsus:, :@ Messirulez: (great footy conversations with both of you - sorry i still can't stand Ronaldo haha!), etc, etc.
Pretty much, goodbye and all the best to all the people who interacted/worked with me in some way (so that includes my current and last wikiadversary), always with the intent of improving the site. Hey. No problem on providing a source, but what would count as a source that counters the current, not especially reliable one? Basically, he's a right-back who used to occasionally play as a right-winger a few years ago, but has't for 3-4 seasons. Would a source describing him as solely a right-back negate the fact he's list as a midfielder in some outdated places? For example, Gareth Bale used to be a left-back, would you still list him as such, because I can find sources that say he played there. Be interesting to know how that works. Thanks! Hello, Mattythewhite. I have a few things I want to clear up with you. First and foremost, I admit I was wrong about Alvaro Morata's deal with Atlético Madrid. I don't know why I strongly believed it was permanent, but that was that, or so I thought. Sometime in the morning on 22 July 2019, I noticed an outdated fact on Willian's page. There was news that he was offered the No. 10 Jersey at Chelsea, in which he accepted, making his official Jersey number 10. You removed my edit once again because it was unsourced. Here's my issue. I get that it's your job to protect Wikipedia and keep it as reliable as possible and I respect you for that. But does someone need to have a source to prove that 2+2=4? I think that it's pretty useless. I may be new to Wikipedia but I know when something is unneeded. Is it required that you remove everything that's unsourced or is that your choice?

You left a message on my talk page stating that my edit on Pep Guardiola wasn't neutral and had been removed.

Hi Mattythewhite. Generally, you don't see citations in information boxes, and it's even less common to see a citation for whichever club they're at. It's very easily accessible knowledge. In the case of Pleguezuelo, he left Arsenal for FC Twente, and one simple google search will verify that.
The information is correct and uncontroversial but ok if you think you are in the right to prevent Wikipedia to grow with accurate and interesting information so be it. No more cooperation from me. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.252.216.34 ( talk) 19:52, 14 July 2019 (UTC)
Thanks! Oblow14 continues to vandalize articles, such as Atletico Madrid by adding unsourced content. This violates Wikipedia's policy on verifiability. Oblow14 profile has a history of vandalization on other articles. Please block him from editing on wikipedia to prevent further vandalization. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.237.134.51 ( talk) 23:42, 14 July 2019 (UTC)
Hi Matty. I just saw your change at Andy Yiadom. My understanding was that we count official FIFA matches only for international caps? A discussion at WP:FOOTY seems to confirm that. Is there a newer one I've missed? Kind regards, Robby.is.on ( talk) 11:10, 15 July 2019 (UTC)
In the source on the article stands written (from AS), Filipe Luís have two Italian grandmothers and a Austrian grandfather ("Tras la Segunda Guerra Mundial, un polaco y una italiana, ambos refugiados, se conocen, se enamoran y tienen un hijo. Ese niño crece, conoce a una chica de madre italiana y padre austriaco, y tienen un hijo llamado Filipe Luis Kasmirski.") -- JayGeh ( talk) 14:44, 16 July 2019 (UTC)

His eponymous category needs to be categorised. If you would like to give it more appropriate categories please do. Rathfelder ( talk) 18:18, 21 July 2019 (UTC)
Hi, my Notifications have been acting strange, so I JUST got your reply from our disagreement earlier this summer, June 2nd to be precise. I guess I can start a discussion, not to prove my point to you, but to genuinely find out if the honours are necessary for players who did not play in a final which is what I am really after for. Anyways, I hope nothing I said was taken in a bad way, I meant no offense (if any offense was taken), I respect your works here on Wikipedia and from what I can see you are retiring (pardon me if I'm wrong, just speedily read through it since it's the largest discussion in this page! XD) so assuming I am right, I wish you a beloved farewell and good luck on your objectives outside of Wikipedia! TheSoccerBoy (𝕥𝕒𝕝𝕜) 07:06, 22 July 2019 (UTC)
