Hello! WP is my hobby, and that's true for most people you'll meet around here. I think I've found sources to meet the demands of WP:N, and if it's ok with you, I can try to start an article about her. It will probably look nothing like you would write it, for one thing I can only use the WP:RS I find online, but I have access to the WP:LIBRARY and that helps. OTOH, I know the "rules" and so far none of my articles ( User:Gråbergs_Gråa_Sång#Articles_I_started) have been deleted.

Hi there. I would be happy for you to start an article about her. I have the articles I mentioned in the publications I mentioned, and I can scan those for your use, if you like. The reason I wanted to put this article up is that the Strong National Museum of Play is beginning to acquire pieces and books by Charleen Kinser. (Kinser wrote three books on craft in the mid 1970s, in addition to working as a crafts editor for Sphere, the Betty Crocker Magazine, and American Home Crafts.) Hi Maggie. Now that Gråbergs Gråa Sång is on the case, you can relax as he has a long history of writing acceptable articles. One very useful thing you can do, where your COI is irrelevant, is to upload to Wikimedia Commons a good photo of your mother that you personally took with your own camera. Similarly, photos you took of her toys would be of interest and could be included in a limited way in the article and with a link back to Commons if there were too many to include them all (see WP:NOTGALLERY). Hello, I have news, unexpectedly (for me) mixed. Charleen Kinser is now an article, and I'm fairly sure no one will think it should be deleted. Like everything else around here, it's a work in progress. Being who you are, you should not edit it directly yourself (you can revert obvious vandalism, it does happen), but you are welcome to suggest changes and sources at Talk:Charleen Kinser.

Hi there. Thank you so much for putting together this page. I didn't even know there was a newspaper article about the time I got lost in the woods. And of course I agree, having the note about Tom's murder makes sense too. I have two questions.

1: I have located an article about Charleen Kinser Designs/Forever Toys that was published in Communication Arts in Jan/Feb of 1987. I'd like to share this with you (all pages are in Google Drive in PDF form, and I can share that with you) so you can add new information and more detail to the page. Is that OK? It's really an in depth profile of Charleen. And Communication Arts is a very respected publication, since 1959. https://www.commarts.com/

The article gives much more detail on what she did for UPA, both in the US and in London, and what she did for Disney, Saul Bass and Mattel (produced its first black and white animated TV commercial) and early prototypes on soft-bodied talking dolls, as well as what kind of work won her the Cannes awards (story, character and background design) and what she did for Les Cineastes in Paris (headed the story department).

2: There is a mistake in the piece, and I'm not sure if I should just tell you or suggest an edit elsewhere; Charleen Kinser Designs/Forever Toys was one company, founded in 1974. I think the legal name was Charleen Kinser Designs, but Forever Toys was added to help people know what she was producing--toys meant to last forever. Between 1974 and 1976, it sold "mail-order crafts". In 1977, it began producing toys to sell, as you wrote in the Wikipedia page.

Charleen also did freelance work, for instance a rocking lion called Leo for the MGM Grand Hotel opening in Reno, Nevada in 1978. If it's useful, I can give this photo to you (the piece with the Charleen Kinser logo) via Google Drive.

Thank you again for writing the page. I hope you'll incorporate the information from the Communication Arts article (8 pages in all, 3 of text).

I've grabbed the new stuff from google drive (I guess I have access to that folder unless you throw me out), will look at it, maybe not this week. It's possible I or sources (or both) are confused on the company, perhaps something like "Charleen Kinser Designs, also known as Forever Toys..." is the way to go.

Adding to what Mike Turnbull said on images above. The image in the article is there per a WP-rule that says basically "WP sees a low-res portrait-picture as leadimage in an article about a dead person as allowed "fair use"." But what is always preferred is a freely licensed pic if it can be made available, if so the "fair use" pic will be deleted. Commons is where we keep the freely licensed, public domain etc pics, no "fair use" is allowed there.

So, you are very welcome to upload [3] pictures you have taken yourself on Commons, and so can your friends and family if they want (with their own accounts).

BUT copyright rules are a pain, see COM:TOYS. My understanding of this is that while we'd love to have nice pics of the Forever Toys, the copyright holder (which may be you, but I can't know that) has to give permission. This can be done, but there is some bureaucracy involved.

The easiest way (for me and other Wikipedians) is that you create a page with some toy-pictures at http://charleenkinserdesigns.com/, and on that page state "The pictures on this page are published under the following free license: Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike 4.0 International." Then anyone can use that page as the source for Commons uploads. You can see a similar example at [4]. More on licenses at [5].

You can also upload toy-pics of your choice at [6], and then mail permission per Commons:Email_templates.
