Welcome, and thank you for your attempt to lighten up Wikipedia. However, this is an encyclopedia and the articles are intended to be serious, so please don't make joke edits, as you did to Marshall Middle School (Pittsburgh). Readers looking for serious articles will not find them amusing. If you'd like to experiment with editing, try the sandbox, where you can write (almost) whatever you want. iride scent 19:59, 21 May 2008 (UTC) reply

So, what the hell?

So, what the hell is with your name? I don't mean that to be mean, but I don't get it. What do you mean that Liberalism is Marxism? Aren't they different? I thought Liberalism was all about being cool to the poor people, but Marxism was all about some bullshit about being mean to the rich. Help me out, because I'm pretty new to this politics stuff. Thanks for the interest

You stated two correct aspects that are interchangable for both -isms. Most aspects are truly identical. American liberals are different from say French revolution liberals. Robespierre and the thugs in the Committee for Public Safety were far more leftist than most liberals today, judging that by the way they senselessly excecuted all Catholics and the Girond. Marxism and liberalism both believe that you must rob Peter and pay Paul. It doesn't matter if it's alright to institute "involuntary charity" on the masses, but as long as they feel that they FEEL that they are doing the moral thing, they have the "approval of their own consciences" as C.S. Lewis put it. As long as people will judge socialists on good intentions and not the results of their actions, it will live on. If you want me to elaborate further, I can, but I think that answers the question.
