There is a good picture of Percival in 1921 in Hamilton's Montgomery book (referred to in the refs of the article - picture 24). It is entitled "Major A E Percival Cork 1921 (Imperial War Museum)". I have seen that other pics of this age from the Imperial War Museum have been uploaded to Wikipedia. Do you know how do this /whether it is in line with copyright law etc? Nickhk
I have put him up as a FAC. Fingers crossed Nickhk

I would like to thank you for your support for my candidacy for the Military history WikiProject coordinator position. I am now the Lead Coordinator, and I intend to do my best to continue improving the project. Technically a discussion hasn't finished until the page is removed from the rfa page by a bureaucrat or other admin: points of discussion have been accepted in rfa cases beforehand and I don't see why this should be any different. If RDH wishes to make a complaint he is more than welcome to leave a message; in the meantime I don't appreciate the accusatory tone you used in leaving me a message and would suggest you would get a better response from me if you were more civil in the first place. --

I respet your decision, Leith! I've been tempted to enforce a break for my self, but never had the strength to stay away (I simply went over to Wikinews and the commons for a while ;-)). I hope you come back soon.....Wikipedia's losing so many good editors right now, and that urgently needs to be stemmed. I have faith that Esperanza will one day come to the rescue of this community, and that the community itself has the resolve to get through these turbulent times. Hey, Leithp, I wanted to thank you for your support of my (unfortunately unsuccessful) request for adminship. The final tally was 37/16/5, which fell short of the needed 75-80% for "consensus". Thanks for voting for me even though I was a lost cause by that point. It made me feel a lot better! I don't know if or when I'll go up for nomination again, but even if I don't, I will try not to betray the trust that you and 36 others were willing to place in me. Hey, the words of wisdom you wrote on my talkpage apply equally well here. But if you must take a break, please make it a short one. You are one of the best Wikipedians around all around. I tried to start an article on James Gavin, but it seems to have disappeared. Your comment is associated with it, so perhaps you removed it. In any case, my effort was merely a starting point about an interesting and notorious individual who was possibly murdered in prison in Bali. As an American who made Indonesia his home, Gavin was a member of the generation that took Timothy Leary's advice to heart and "dropped out." He was a friend to many itinerant artists, writers, and actors, including Bill Murray, Graham Nash, and John Lennon, some of whom stayed at his compound in the Seminyak area north of Kuta Beach. To these celebrities, he was known as "Bali James."
Most baby boomers stayed stateside, worked corporate jobs, started families, and pursued the American dream, but individuals like Gavin represent a fascinating element of the counterculture that is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, and appears to be under-reported. I am new here as a contributor, however, so your assitance in advising what I should have done to prevent erasure will be much appreciated. Thank you.

Pardon my ignorance, but how does one create an article? As indicated earlier, what I initially submitted was merely intended as a starting point, with text, pictures, and links to follow. If I understand you correctly, my innocent transgression was to do this on a disambiguation page. Here are two external links that relate to Gavin's demise, one containing an assertion of possible complicity in his death by the authorities (www.fugly-bali.org/police.html), and the other containing extensive information on what may be a parallel case of westerners getting framed (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schapelle_Corby). Corby and Gavin were both held at Kerobokan prison on questionable drug charges. I do not assert the innocence of either, but Gavin's fate surely informs the level of danger facing Corby today. These other external links refer to CV Krakatoa, one of the many successful businesses that Gavin started to serve the ex-pat community in Bali (www.poonja.com/Sanga2.htm),(www.divingpersonnel.com/companies/area/ asia/page1.html?dpsid=acdac3b0d5042b5d8544aa2b2770a78e), (www.ccclsurabaya.com/Francais/liens.htm). Your patience and guidance are much appreciated. Asingleton-green 17:46, 19 February 2006 (UTC)

You indicate, on the block page, that this vandalicious IP belongs to a school. I'd be interested to learn of any steps the school is taking to curtail abuse, and how we could help.
