Hello Kudpung. Nice to see that you add material on Rhône wines. I saw that you wrote about 10 appellations being added to Rhône in 2004, including Costières de Nîmes AOC. Do you have any details, and preferably an online reference (in French, if need be) for this? The reason I ask is that as far as I've noticed, the individual AOC rules don't specify which region an AOC belongs to. Therefore, I'm curious how this is decided "officially", and would like to make sure that we have the right information in our encyclopedia. Costières de Nîmes used to be in eastern Languedoc, and it sort of surprises me to hear that such borders are being moved. (Although I can understand the commercial motivation, Rhône wine being a lot more easy to sell than those from Languedoc-Roussillon.) My recent contribution increased this very small stub to an article. I've read the comments on your talk pages. Editing, contribution, and expansion are probably better than criticism of style and of what's missing ( talk page guidelines) all editors are invited to improve it. I have started the article's discussion page by copying some comments to it. Kudpung ( talk) 19:34, 30 April 2008 (UTC)
Anyone with more inside information on these wines, or how they fare in your country's market, please dicuss how we can incorporate it in these articles:
Thai lunar calendar is rather important because many articles refer to it for clarification of lunatic dates, but it is also rather a mess. I'm currently working on revising it in my Sandbox. Could you take time to check it out in both places? Pawyilee ( talk) 09:05, 6 May 2008 (UTC)
I went ahead and published my new version as I finally got around to reading Dillerand found I had put a lot of BS in the old. For instance, Thai lunar months do have names, it's just that nobody uses them. So, I said as much but left the names out as Diller did not give Thai spellings. I also heavily revised his table of principle lunar-determined feasts and in the process discovered we need an article on Vegtarian Festival (Buddhism). You can read an un-scholarly article about it here, and I feel sure Bangladeshi Madhu Purnima is related. In the latter you can read about an elephant bringing fruit and a monkey bringing honey to Lord Buddha, and you can see those images in wats everywhere. Diller lists the last day of Moon 10 (name phatrabot) as Sa:t, food-cake presentation. I figured out the Thai spelling, and found it in the Online Royal Institute Dictionary [ORID] at สารท ๑ (สาด). (The ORID is more than a bit tricky to use.) But if you look at a current calendar, you'll find it named Tesagarn Kin Jae 9 Wan (Thai: เทศกาลกินเจ ๕ วัน) (sometimes prefixed begin), the beginning of a Nine-day Vegetarian Festival promoted by Thai Chinese Buddhists since the 19th C., first in Phuket but now spread to many other places, including a place on the calendar! Kin Jae กินเจ is also in the ORID, and if you see a restaurant displaying เจ in Chinese-like brush strokes, it's not the number 17 but the mark of a strictly vegetarian menu. I just don't know how to leap the no-original-research hurdle. Pawyilee ( talk) 15:58, 22 June 2008 (UTC)
I'm not sure what you mean by "include your Rocket Festival in the culture section of the much revered article on Isan." For one, I released all rights to whatever I put there when I clicked Save page. For another, I lack references to rocket festival practices outside of Yasothon. As for Tossa, Wajuppa (1990)'s Phādāēng Nāng Ai : a translation of a Thai-Isan folk epic in verse, that includes bibliographical references ( ISBN 0838751393), the "3000-word poem translated to English from this rich Thai-Isan tradition… especially well known to the Thai audience, having been designated as secondary school supplementary reading by the Thai Ministry of Education", I've not read it in either language. Hi Kudpung, and thanks for your notes on my talk page and the Mustang talk page. As far as the Irish horse breeds article goes, it appears that the user has not edited in almost a week. I doubt that it is actually trolling, as they do not seem to be actively trying to make trouble. Instead, it seems to be more of a rather misplaced nationalistic pride thing. I'm keeping an eye on the horse breeds article, and if the editor in question returns to protest the prod, then I will be happy to work with them to improve their Wiki contributions. Until then, if they're gone, then they're gone, and no use putting extra warnings on their talk page, in my opinion. As far as the Mustang article goes, that spat settled down a while ago. If you would, though, it might be helpful to place extra information on the souces you provided on the talk page (such as edition, year, etc), so that if the problem comes up again in the future, we can add your sources with all of the proper information to the article as evidence. User:Grrace hasn't been seen in a while, so it appears that the current article will prevail for a while at least. If you have any other questions or comments, I'd be glad to hear them, and thank you for the compliments on the Mustang talk page, although I personally haven't contributed a great deal to that particular article. It's always nice to hear someone complimenting one of the WP Equine articles, rather than criticizing :) Dana boomer ( talk) 01:01, 31 May 2009 (UTC)

29 May 2009 User:Mispda ( talk) created Isan-Lao related page Gathin Festival and linked it to Kathina. I started its talk page with a WikiProject Thailand template, and added it under G in the Index of Thailand-related articles. I don't know how to add the clean-up or photo request templates. It is a notable subject but needs a lot of work to get it up to snuff. It could be merged with Kathina, or, better yet, Kathina's section on Thailand: Kathin (Thai: กฐิน) merged with "Gathin Festival" once transliteration issues get ironed out. Once the pissing contest over Malvern Waters abates, do you think you could help a bit with this one? I have some pix of the "Christmas tree" money trees I could upload, but I'll wager you have better. It also needs a holiday box and categorization. Also, Thailand Kathin needs Royal Barge Procession pix. Pawyilee ( talk) 14:02, 3 June 2009 (UTC)

This template isn't needed, and shouldn't be used, on articles that already have a stub template. The stub template itself requests expansion, so an expand template is redundant. For confirmation of this see template:expand/doc. Phil Bridger ( talk) 09:14, 9 June 2009 (UTC)
I just happened t be reverting a lot of vandalism on that page. the main contrubitor to the page is Petepetepetepete who hasn't edited since Feb 2008. I'm afraid I don't know any thing much about Worcestershire so I probably wouldn't be a huge asset to the project :( - Kingpin 13 ( talk) 10:36, 9 June 2009 (UTC)
I have updated Template:WikiProject Worcestershire and redirected Template:WPWorcs-Scope to it, so everything is now singing from the same hymn sheet! You can use the name of both templates just fine, and now the assessment part of it should work. All the appropriate categories have been created too. Jenuk1985 | Talk 14:04, 9 June 2009 (UTC)
Well, I tagged them because WP:CITIES states that it covers all types of municipalities. It states that at the very top of the page. -- Starstriker7( Talk) 05:09, 10 June 2009 (UTC)
I'd prefer it if you didn't do this, as you'll find I have contributed to around 90% of Worcestershire related articles, most of the time to add cords, and I have no direct connection to them other than that. I have all the Worcestershire articles on my watchlist so I will see whats going on anyway. Jenuk1985 | Talk 01:12, 13 June 2009 (UTC)
I don't know if you've thought about it already, but you might be interested in getting a cleanup list. Details of how to get one can be found here. It doesn't tag articles for cleanup, but it does compile them for you. It's not done very regularly (every couple of months I think) but it might save you a bit of effort. Re Longdon, Holdfats and Queenhill: I hope you have now learned that an infobox such as {{ Malvern Hills District parishes}} should be transcluded not "subst"ed into an article. I have a personal policy that English villages should be written up at the civil parish level and was preparing to redirect Queenhill and Holdfast, Worcestershire to Longdon. But I cannot find the official name for the parish. The council website is no help! Follow the links from this list and it looks as though they are three separate parishes, eg. this for Holdfast! — RHaworth ( Talk | contribs) 18:04, 16 June 2009 (UTC)

Hi. A reply. Wikipedia does not allow stubs on its main page. Hindlip Hall has been on the main page as the DYK banner shows, I'm not sure but I guess other Worcester articles have too. Articles that have been on the main page are start articles or better as admins will not move stub articles. Obviously I'm not happy with your change and you did ask for objections, and we have exchanged views. However do not think I am on the offensive. I am trying to avoid that by not reverting your edit but asking for arbitration from the Worcester project as we have failed to agree. I'm quite happy to go with any third party decision, but I am very surprised by your edit but I'm assuming good faith and realise that I may be wrong. Do not take this personally I'm not out to get you, I'm trying to understand the large difference in our approaches to this article. Victuallers ( talk) 18:58, 19 June 2009 (UTC) Seems a fair compromise to me to ask your fellow project member.... I work on WP Derbyshire and have probably added a 1000 or so banners. good luck Victuallers ( talk) 19:24, 19 June 2009 (UTC)
Don't get disheartened, your Thailand articles look brilliant. I did look at you example article and I agree that the balance of the biography and the work is wrong. Sorry for making a point about the gunpowder plot being in 1605. Worcestershire needs help ... you are doing it. Power to your keystrokes. Cheers Victuallers ( talk) 10:22, 21 June 2009 (UTC)
There's no problem with your project giving advice and rating articles, we'll take any help we can get as our project is a little feast or famine. Let me know if you need any help getting up and going (my personal specialty is grading and building templates). Also thanks for the third perspective on IQS. Adam McCormick ( talk) 04:11, 23 June 2009 (UTC)
I agree. The school was only formed a few years ago (2 neighbouring schools went through a lot of change, with a merger). It seems like the article became a bit wild at that point. Which sections need clean-up? Btline ( talk) 20:35, 23 June 2009 (UTC)
I am placing my comment here, not on the talk page, as I do not want to encourage another edit war. The original article was written by a user who was subsequently banned, but has re-emerged and now seems to behave himself. This was seeking to establish that the river was navigable, though the evidence for navigation was very slender. As I investigated the subject, I found that true "evidence" was (with one exception - of unknown substance) limited to the use of canoes and rowing boats. There was an edit war, which Philip Baird Shearer (an admin) moderated. Ultimately the view that I put forward (as to non-navigability by barges) was established, and the article has largely been stable for a year or two. The debate on this was conducted not only here but in Journal of Railway and Canal Hisotrical Society, and I had to publish an article there (as Peter King - my name), before I was allowed to put up my view in the WP article, so that it was not WP:OR, though that is what the original text of the article was. I think this all goes back to a fantisist in the Worcester area, who has built up a great edifice, but without adequate foundations in good historical sources.
I still watch this article. If you think there is too much on navigation (or the lack of it), I have no objection to it being pruned, but would suggest that a statement be kept that it was not navigable by barges carrying goods above Powick Mill. I felt that I had to allow a good deal of trivia on the use of small boats to remain; it has WP:RS, but is mostly fairly trivial; however the use of canoes should remain (briefly). If you like to prune the section, I will look at what you have done and will not officiously restore what I regard as trivia.
I have added this page to my watch list, so that I will pick up a reply from you here. There would probably be merit in archiving much of the material from the talk page relating from the edit wars of several years ago. Peterkingiron ( talk) 08:30, 28 June 2009 (UTC)
Setting up the reflist template as I have done, with a colwidth of 30em automatically varies the number of cols depending on the resolution available on the monitor. 30em seems to be the standard use on most articles in this respect Jenuk1985 | Talk 14:52, 30 June 2009 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on CALICO - The Computer Assisted Language Instruction Consortium requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.
If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{

to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on
the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

What a strange response! Why did you find my message discouraging? "I hope you will have helped out" - did you not check to see whether I had or not? — RHaworth ( Talk | contribs) 18:40, 16 June 2009 (UTC)
Er, I don't remember anything I debated that relates to this article. (I vaguely remember the AfD debate, but in re-reading it I didn't find any comments which I contributed to it.) Can you help me out here? -- llywrch ( talk) 16:37, 19 June 2009 (UTC)

Hi.
I have moved WikiProject Worcestershire/by type to Wikipedia:WikiProject Worcestershire/by type. Why did you instantly re-created it on the wrong title? — RHaworth ( Talk | contribs) 05:43, 5 July 2009 (UTC)
If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{
hangon}}
to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on
the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.
For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Blanchardb - Me• MyEars• MyMouth- timed 16:04, 6 July 2009 (UTC)
