Hi. I need a GG/GS expert and hope you can help. We've long wanted to get the Boy Scout and GG/GS articles structured the same. I've started on this. See the Project talk page. Can you help get Girl Guide and Girl Scout more in line with Boy Scout? Also, do you know the best place to move the country-specific info I've put on the Girl Guide and Girl Scout talk page? Thanks. Hi. I've come up with two suggestions in the rename discussion. I'd like to know what you think of them. See that thread. Rlevse 10:20, 29 November 2006 (UTC)
I appreciate that, and I also want to thank you for your edits and contributions. I have so wanted to see the feminine side of the project flourish, and if you check my edits about six months ago, I was begging anyone who even mentioned that they had been involved to please help add info, for instance the section in each US state article, to little success. Thank you, and you really need not apologize. I am a scholar of the rebirth of the movement in postSoviet countries, and have observed that the girls are more robust and sincere about it than their boy counterparts, even in mixed organizations. In Slovakia, for instance, they used to have to make every badge they earned as part of their program. The girls had these beautiful complete uniforms, proud of the badges they sewed themselves, and the guys were empty. The young ladies were living into the vision, and if my own nation's program has forgotten what that vision is, it is not reflected in the programs of the rest of the world. I know not to judge all by what happens here, and I have seen true Guiding and Scouting in action better than I could have done at that age. Out in the real world "Girl Scout" is not just a modifier before "cookies". I wish I could provide more info on each of the smaller organizations, and I hope I in turn did not upset that I stuck the stub information into the boy articles to have a chance to grow before they split off. You have a great day, sister! Your brother in B-P, Chris 18:27, 30 November 2006 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on Moisés Fragela requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{
hangon}}
to the top of
the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on
the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact
one of these admins to request that they
userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. ←Signed:→Mr. E. Sánchez

I find it difficult to see that this campsite is notable enough for its own article. Articles on Gilwell Park, Victoria and Mafeking Rover Park were both merged back into Scouting in Victoria, although the latter is currently in Rovering in Victoria. Mafeking Rover Park in particular could be noticed independently of Scouting through Motorsport, although I'm not sure we have those references. However, if we can expand Scouting in Victoria as Scouting and Guiding in Victoria, as you have supported, maybe we could merge the material there. It is good to see you working on Guiding articles in Australia. I do not think we have a single Australian editor interested in Guiding. -- Bduke (Discussion) 22:29, 30 March 2009 (UTC)

Chris (クリス • フィッチュ) ( talk) 08:15, 3 August 2009 (UTC)
Good work, Chris. I am coming in here because the two of you may want to comment. I suggest that some of these should be merged. For example, Saint Helena branch of Girlguiding UK could be merged into Scouting and Guiding on Saint Helena and Ascension Island and Turks and Caicos Islands branch of Girlguiding UK could be merged into Scouting and Guiding in the Turks and Caicos Islands. There are no separate Scouting articles. These Scouting and Guiding groups are small. One article for everything S & G on the Islands would suffice with likely never a need to fork anything out. It is difficult to establish notability. Let us think about these two first. -- Bduke (Discussion) 08:40, 3 August 2009 (UTC)
Chris, I have some additional info about Saint Helena and possibly the BVI article. Will keep my eyes open for more. Have commented on the merger proposals on the taskforce page. Kingbird ( talk) 21:11, 7 August 2009 (UTC)

Rotha Lintorn-Orman was awarded the Silver fish at the same time as Nesta Maude; they were in fact the first two girls to achieve the distinction.
In Guiding archives there is a photo taken to commemorate the awards of the two girls standing proudly either side of their Guide Captain Mrs Blanch Lintorn-Orman who was Rotha's mother.
Rotha went on to earn notoriety as the founder of the British Fascist movement and is now linked with some less than uplifting gossip, but her achievement should nevertheless be recorded in the list of recipients. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.140.145.62 ( talk) 18:27, 16 January 2010 (UTC)

This debate is on about 3 different pages, see Talk:Boy_Scout#DAB_war for one and chime it. It should be consolidated in one spot. — Rlevse • Talk • 11:02, 12 February 2008 (UTC)
This is a good article to work on. It needs attention and I picked it for the Bio of the Month for April. Can't be many that have both the Bronze Wolf and the Silver Fish. — Rlevse • Talk • 01:57, 21 March 2008 (UTC)

Please weigh in at the poll at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Scouting#Project_logo The point of the darker trefoil, in my view, is so that Scouting and Guiding are treated equally, and not one being an afterthought of the other. Of course, please choose whichever one you wish, but please vote.

I've put up a map (interim as two councils have still to merge). I think it is fairly complete though Texas, Oklahoma Plains was by a process of elimination. If you have any feedback or corrections, I would welcome it -- Erp ( talk) 04:04, 7 February 2009 (UTC)
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{
hangon}}
to the top of
the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on
the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay.
E. Sánchez

Wow. I just noticed no one has added any Scout news to the portal since Dec. Do you know of any? — Rlevse • Talk • 23:09, 27 February 2009 (UTC)
Can you rustle up some Scout News for us? BSA was supposed to have had its 2 millionth Eagle Scout in March but no one has heard if it actually occurred yet. — Rlevse • Talk • 00:13, 30 April 2009 (UTC)
Hey: See [4], I chose that as the pic of the month. Can you or someone you know provide more detail on it? I think they are British Girls, but not sure. Anything will help. — Rlevse • Talk • 00:48, 30 June 2009 (UTC)
I've created stubs for the eight remaining outer branches, please help if you can with images and info, thanks!

I did not realize the number of female editors was as low as 13%, until I read it on Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/Wikipedia:Think of Wikipe-tan!. Though I personally like Wikipe-tan, I am egalitarian and do not want to chase off the editors we have in GGGS taskforce. Is the GGGS Wikipetan I had commissioned offputting?-- Kintetsubuffalo ( talk) 13:15, 26 February 2011 (UTC)
Hi. When you recently edited Girl Scout cookie, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Bronze Award ( check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
