Speedy deletion nomination of Chris Haze

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Chris Haze requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a clear copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from http://www.chrishazemusic.com/bio/. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Chris Haze

Please note that you need to pay attention to Wikipedia's rules about how to properly categorize an article. A person who is already categorized as a musician does not also go into Category:Music or Category:Entertainers simultaneously with the musician categories, because the musician categories are already subcategories of the music and entertainers categories. And Category:Music-related lists is not for adding people to lists; it's for articles which ARE lists. Please don't readd those categories to Chris Haze again, because they're not correct or proper usages of the category system. Bearcat ( talk) 19:24, 19 October 2016 (UTC) reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Remody Records

Hello Kia.Nuget,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Remody Records for deletion, because it seems to be promotional, rather than an encyclopedia article.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

Conflict of interest

Information icon Hello, Kia.Nuget. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

 • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
 • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the request edit template);
 • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);

I don't understand why I have been blocked. I do not own or work for Remody Records or Chris Haze. I am adding the page as an outsider of the company. Can you please unblock me and the Remody Records and Chris Haze page. Don't hesitate to let me know what needs to be updated or changed in the articles and I will happily change whatever the issue is to reflect that I do not work for or have any connection to Remody Records or Chris Haze. He is an established Irish artist and this is his newly launched record label that people should know about. I do not and am not intending to use these Wiki articles as promotion or advertising for these people or companies in any way and am happy to change anything within the articles that makes you think I am. This is all legitimate info regarding the artist and his newly established record label. Per the discussion below, I'm giving you another shot at proving that you can be an asset to the site. @ Athaenara: I'm inclined to accept this unblock request as well as restore the Chris Haze article so that it can go through AfD. Remody Records is a little too promotional for my liking so I'm content with leaving that page deleted and instructing Kia.Nuget to try WP:AFC. Thoughts? @ Anarchyte: Further to that, about an hour later, after I saw this user's next [10:43, 23 May 2021 (UTC)] message below, I was thinking more about it and did a basic duckduckgo search for Chris Haze minus Wikipedia. Okay, That's great about the Chris Haze page being restored. All info on that page in correct and cited to reflect that. However I feel Remody Records page should also be restored. I will be happy make changes to the article to make sure it doesn't reflect as advertising or promotion. Remody Records is a legitimate and established record label and company which as Wikipedians we should know about and be able to learn and read about. As mentioned if you can restore Remody Records also I can and will make changes to the article to make sure it in not promotional or advertising the record label. (Kia Nuget) talk 10:05, 23 May 2021 (UTC) reply

I would disagree with that as I am not being payed by anyone or any company to post these pages or articles. These are notable figures and companies and these pages are not intended as promotion in any way. As mentioned I am happy to replace anything you feel to be promotion with cited facts and information. I am keeping people up to date on what is happening in the independent music world. Which includes independent musicians and artists making moves as well as the moves they are making. What happens from this point? (Kia Nuget) talk 10:43, 23 May 2021 (UTC) reply

I feel like the initial admins duckduckgo search was limited and not as thorough as it should have been. If you change the location of your search to Ireland there are multiple press and media link referencing Chris Haze releases and projects from what I can see here. Which as far as I remember were also cited in the wiki page about Chris Haze As far as I can see Chris Haze is quite notable in Ireland as an artist. Furthermore if your initial search was more thorough and you had checked the Irish Records Music Associations records [1], you would have seen that the artist in question has an official Irish Top 40 album release in 2017. I am an experienced observer of the independent music scene for many years and have credible sources to verify the information I put in any article. In my opinion and based on the information I have seen and that is available to any experienced music researcher, the pages in question Chris Haze and Remody Records should not be taken down and I should be allowed to continue informing wikipedians of the world about the independent music scene which is becoming more and more to important to artists and independents each day. References

@ Kia.Nuget: One of the things we ask, specifically when dealing with single-purpose editors (see WP:SPA), is what you're interested in contributing in general to this encyclopedia. If your only interest is, in your words, "the independent music scene", artists, record companies, etc., then it would be more appropriate for you to write for single-purpose websites rather than here, where we strive to create a compendium of knowledge in all subject areas. – Athaenara 15:35, 23 May 2021 (UTC) reply

I am well aware of WP:SPA. However this is not the case here. I am only properly getting started as an editor and am willing and happy to contribute to any page or article on this encyclopaedia where I see myself adding factual value to the information. I am also someone who references Wikipedia for a multitude of information in general. I will happily add value to any article or page if I have the information required. The independent music scene is not my only interest. But in this case are the first pages I have published so far. However the independent music scene is still not my only interest as a contributing editor on here. As mentioned I am and will be happy to add value and information to any article and page I feel I can add valuable information to. I am not "limited to the independent music scene" as you put it. Additionally this also does not take away from the notability of the published pages Chris Haze or Remody Records. I am very happy and proud to be a part of the wikipedian family as a reader and contributing editor and also want to work to create a compendium of knowledge in all subject areas. I hope you can understand that I am simply adding the new information to this encyclopaedia about notable subjects that haven't yet been written about on here. (Kia Nuget) talk 16:45, 23 May 2021 (UTC) reply

@ Kia.Nuget: Please don't change the content of other editors' posts in any way, as you did in this edit, whether you approve of their spelling or not. Thank you. – Athaenara 22:36, 23 May 2021 (UTC) reply

@ Kia.Nuget: Please don't change the content of other editors' posts in any way, as you did in this edit, whether you approve of their spelling or not. Thank you. – Athaenara 22:36, 23 May 2021 (UTC) reply

@ Athaenara: This may interest you. I have no opinion on whether the article should be deleted or not, but I've given Kia.Nuget another shot to prove themselves. Anarchyte ( talk) 10:39, 24 May 2021 (UTC) reply

@ Anarchyte: Thank you for joining the discussion. I have written this page Chris Haze based on factual encyclopedic information from reputable sources which are cited in the page. The subject in question as far as the research I have done is notable enough to have a page. As @ Athaenara: has suggested suspicion of, there is no conflict of interest on my part and I am not being payed by any person or company to publish this page. The page Chris Haze is open for editing for anyone to do their research on to confirm the information provided in the page. I have many interests on Wikipedia and do not soley intend to only publish or edit pages related to one interest. I am here to contribute to this encyclopedia in any and every way I can along with you guys. Based on the research I have done and information I have acquired through that research Chris Haze is a notable figure in the music industry. (Kia Nuget) talk 11:32, 24 May 2021 (UTC) reply

Your signature

As it stands, your signature (Kia Nuget) talk does not actually link to your user pages. You'll need to modify it to remove the parentheses from the links so that it links here. Consider (Kia Nuget) talk. Anarchyte ( talk) 14:07, 24 May 2021 (UTC) reply

Okay, Apologies for that I have just amended it from the previous reply with the code you suggested. (Kia Nuget) talk 14:22, 24 May 2021 (UTC) reply

Ah, I made a mistake. Could you change your signature to the following: (Kia Nuget) talk? This will print as (Kia Nuget) talk ("talk" is in bold because that's the page we're on). Please change it in your preferences before replying so that I can make sure you did it properly. Anarchyte ( talk) 16:41, 24 May 2021 (UTC) reply

I have just updated this in preferences. (Kia Nuget) talk (Kia Nuget) talk 10:43, 25 May 2021 (UTC) reply
