Citing yourself

Thank you for writing Semantic argument, it looks like a useful article. Please be mindful, however, of WP:SELFCITE, as citing your own work does introduce a conflict of interest. signed, Rosguill talk 04:54, 10 January 2023 (UTC) reply

Dear Rosguill, thanks for the message. I will therefore delete my data from there, but they will surely (I hope) be added by other scholars, since my papers on semantic arguments are usually cited as a primary source (see my papers on Springer Nature or Informal Logic Journal). Thus, should I delete my data and papers from the entry, and submit it again?
Best,

No, I don't think that would be necessary, just be mindful of it going forward, and remember that it's a form of COI if and when other editors suggest changing citations. signed, Rosguill talk 15:55, 10 January 2023 (UTC) reply

Minor edit marking

Welcome to Wikipedia. Please don't mark substantial edits as minor, as happened here, here, here, and here. Per WP:MINOREDIT, Any change that affects the meaning of an article is not minor, even if it concerns a single word. Please note that it is acceptable to never mark a single edit as "minor" If you still want to use the "minor edit" checkbox, you might want to familiarize yourself with WP:MINOREDIT. OK, thanks – I tried tu use "minor" for the further remarks I made: the original comment (adding subsection on DPC and papers from Springer) is definitely not "minor". Best, P sophist ( talk) 14:05, 23 July 2024 (UTC) reply

Copying licensed material requires attribution

Hi. I see in a recent addition to Principle of charity you included material from a webpage that is available under a compatible Creative Commons Licence. That's okay, but you have to give attribution so that our readers are made aware that you copied the prose rather than wrote it yourself. It's also required under the terms of the license. I've added the attribution for this particular instance. Please make sure that you follow this licensing requirement when copying from compatibly-licensed material in the future. — Diannaa ( talk) 23:55, 24 July 2024 (UTC) reply

Lovely, thanks! I was looking for this, and couldn't have found it …
