FYAN

The word FYAN is derived from the Latvian word for pudding(?). The letters that make up the word FYAN come from the english term: 'Farm Yard Animal Noise'. A 'Farm Yard Animal Noise' comes from a very specific sound made by various pupils originating from Wellington School in Somerset, England. These noises were reported by various unnamed teachers and were described as having a farmyard animal quality. The complaints made were taken and blown out of all proportion by a pupil named Tom Chanter, followed quickly by his coining of the phrase 'FYAN' on May 12th 2006.

Subdivisions Over the years different divisions of 'FYAN's' were created mostly by the Year 11 students of 2008. The following are different divisions of the now world famous 'FYAN':

FYAN - Farm Yard Animal Noise ( Moderately pitched squaky noise created by pushing the tongue from the mouth and exhaling greatly)

BYAN - Barn Yard Animal Noise ( Identical to the 'FYAN' but created specifically for the pupil Ollie Staunton because of his American heritage)

CRYAN - Crayfish Yard Animal Noise ( Similar to the 'FYAN' but softer with less volume )

JYAN - Jungle Yard Animal Noise ( Achieved by vibration of the tongue in and out of the mouth)

GRYAN - Grave Yard Animal Noise ( Similar to noises made by zombies but with classic 'FYAN' style)

MYAN - Monkey Yard Animal Noise ( Like the sound made by monkeys, but again in a classic 'FYAN' arrangement)

  • POWER YARD* -A special 'FYAN' because of the lack of abreviation and of classic Animal Noise ending to the word ( Achieved by curling the right hand over the right side of the mouth and letting out a gutteral vocal style, growl with the tongue extruded)

IF ANY OTHER SUBDIVISIONS ARE KNOWN OF PLEASE ADD TO THE LIST, WITH AN EXPLANATION OF THE METHOD OF CREATION
