After a lenghty, but much-needed Wikibreak, I'm happy to announce that version 1.2 of VandalProof is now available for download! Beyond fixing some of the most obnoxious bugs, like the persistent crash on start-up that many have experienced, version 1.2 also offers a wide variety of new features, including a stub-sorter, a global user whitelist and blacklist, navigational controls, and greater customization. You can find a full list of the new features here. While I believe this release to be a significant improvement over the last, it's nonetheless nowhere near the end of the line for VandalProof. Thanks to Rob Church, I now have an account on test.wikipedia.org with SysOp rights and have already been hard at work incorporating administrative tools into VandalProof, which I plan to make available in the near future. An example of one such SysOp tool that I'm working on incorporating is my simple history merge tool, which simplifies the process of performing history merges from one article into another. Anyway, if you haven't already, I'd encourage you to download and install version 1.2 and take it out for a test-drive. As always, your suggestions for improvement are always appreciated, and I hope that you will find this new version useful. Happy editing! -- AmiDaniel ( talk) 02:21, 21 May 2006 (UTC)

As you may have gathered, discussions have been raging for about a week on the Esperanza talk page as to the future direction of Esperanza. Some of these are still ongoing and warrant more input (such as the idea to scrap the members list altogether). However, some decisions have been made and the charter has hence been amended. See what happened. Basically, the whole leadership has had a reshuffle, so please review the new, improved charter.
As a result, we are electing 4 people this month. They will replace JoanneB and Pschemp and form a new tranche A, serving until December. Elections will begin on 2006-07-02 and last until 2006-07-09. If you wish to run for a Council position, add your name to the list before 2006-07-02. For more details, see Wikipedia:Esperanza/June 2006 elections.

In view of your ostensible preference for Brazil, I'm considering changing my support to oppose; even as I admire the style Brazil often play, and even as they remain my pick to win (over Argentina in the final, having overcome England after extra time in the semifinals), notwithstanding that I think England to be a slightly better side (I assess the teams to be equal in the back and front but give England a most minor advantage in the midfield), they're only third on my list of teams for whom to cheer. You will need to redirect your allegiance, irrespective of your residence, lest I should oppose. If you can't do that, might you at least change your age? Perhaps you ought to contract progeria (although the disease is evidently only heritable)... :) Joe 06:09, 25 June 2006 (UTC)
You've answered a lot of questions on your RfA and are to be commended for it. Can I ask one more (asked here as opposed to the RfA page because it's getting crowded) that means a lot to me:
You patrol CAT:CSD for a backlog, and come across this stub up for CSD A7:
Doctor ABCD is a professor of medicine at University of EFGH. His area of interest is neuro-ophthalmology and he has published extensively in the field.
How would you approach making the decision to delete it?
Many thanks. I've reviewed all of your contributions, but, for your RfA where age vs. maturity has come up, this question will decide my "vote". --

subst: seems to work. But it's weird. The last time I did subst, it didn't work... By the way, do you know how to make a template autosubst when subst'ed in another template? For example:
I want to put {{CURRENTDATE}} on one of my test templates. So how would I get {{CURRENTDATE}} to subst for me? Obviously the following would not work very well:
{{<includeonly>subst:</includeonly>CURRENTDATE}}
but it's the only logical solution I can think of. Any ideas?
On another note, so sorry about your failed RfA. {{User:Fredil Yupigo/signature}} 02:02, 15 July 2006 (UTC)
Do you have any idea how to use a signature template? Right now my signature is extremely long, and so I want to use a template. And before you ask, checking the "Raw Signature" box doesn't work because then it automatically gets SUBST: added to the front. Fr e dil Yu pi go 02:47, 15 July 2006 (UTC)

Hey, thanks for the suggestion. That would be a lot easier. However, Wikipedia:Double redirects states it is better to change redirects to avoid having *any* redirects at all, and during page moves prior to this, I've been told to do it that way. Of course, that was almost nine months ago and I really haven't been active on Wikipedia since January, so if there has been a change in policy, I wouldn't know about it. Hello. You may or may not remember this, but some time ago you signed up for a Hangman Tournament hosted here on Wikipedia. The next tournament is about to start, and I was just wondering if you were still interested in participating. If you are, please go to the page (linked above) and bold your name in the sign-up list. This will confirm your registration. If you are not interested any more, please feel free to remove your name from the list. If you haven't responded within 7 days, I will assume you are not interested, and remove you from the list.
If you think anyone else may be interested in this tournament, please drop them a note and ask them to sign up. Good luck, and I hope to see you at the tournament!

However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the " my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box.
Thanks and kind, Esperanzial regards, — Cel es tianpower háblame 16:00, 23 June 2006 (UTC)

I just wanted to say thanks for watching the P.E.O. Sisterhood debacle. I think you might be getting an idea now of why I brought that forth for mediation. Frankly, I don't think there is any good way to mediate this – I think it'll eventually reach the point where locking the page is necessary – but your efforts are appreciated. It's just sad that the conspiracy theorists and close-minded people alike can't get over this one, small, relatively unimportant article. :/ Beginning 02:16, 7 July 2006 (UTC)
I've updated the tree, reshuffled the group, per your specifications. Our game will take place at Wikipedia:WikiHangman Tournament/Tournament 1/Match 5. SuggestBot picks articles in a number of ways based on other articles you've edited, including straight text similarity, following wikilinks, and matching your editing patterns against those of other Wikipedians. It tries to recommend only articles that other Wikipedians have marked as needing work. Your contributions make Wikipedia better -- thanks for helping.
If you have feedback on how to make SuggestBot better, please tell me on SuggestBot's talk page. Thanks from ForteTuba, SuggestBot's caretaker.
P.S. You received these suggestions because your name was listed on the SuggestBot request page. If this was in error, sorry about the confusion. -- SuggestBot 21:42, 10 July 2006 (UTC)
Hi there, I recently signed up to use VP, but it was declined since I had fewer than 250 ms edits, now that I've passed it I signed again, but it's been over 24 hours so I've come to the first mod I could find (as it's been told).

This user and I have been discussing my denial of his application - please see my talkpage. I hope you're okay with me approving him as I decided to use my discretion because he took the time to write the argument - this doesn't seem like the work of a vandal. I shall however keep a close eye on his contribs for a time. Is this okay with you? Thanks. — Xyra e l / 17:30, 12 July 2006 (UTC)
subst: seems to work.
{{<includeonly>subst:</includeonly>CURRENTDATE}}
but it's the only logical solution I can think of.
How do you do that? Fredil Yupigo 20:47, 16 July 2006 (UTC)
Hello, I am a member of a research group at Palo Alto Research Center (formerly known as Xerox PARC) studying how conflicts occur and resolve on Wikipedia. Due to your experience in conflict resolution on Wikipedia (e.g., as a member of the Mediation Cabal) we’re extremely interested in your insights on this topic. We have a survey at http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.asp?u=400792384029 which we are inviting a few selected Wikipedians to participate in, and we would be extremely appreciative if you would take the time to complete it. As a token of our gratitude, we would like to present you with a PARC research star upon completion. Thank you for your time.

There was a major snafu when the saints project was being promoted. I would like to convert people currently using the template {{User Saints WikiProject}} to {{subst:User Saints WikiProject}}.

Thank you, 青い(Aoi) 17:10, 14 August 2006 (UTC)

We need to get the rules straightened out before the start of this. I'll take a look at them, and give my suggestions soon-ish. If you have any questions, please contact me at my talk page. Ian Manka Talk to me! 13:38, 17 September 2006 (UTC)

... TangoTango has kindly written up a script that once a week lists all of the new members to Esperanza. The list can be found at User:Tangotango/New members of Esperanza; it is updated once a week, and will show all of the new members since the last update. If you're not sure if everyone who joined the past week has been welcomed, that is a great place to check! I hope that helps you in your welcome, and thank you for making a point to greet new Esperanzians! -- Nataly a 18:25, 26 October 2006 (UTC)
For some reason my name has been removed from the list of authorized users. I was added by Betacommand here [2], and he welcommed me here [3]. I had difficulties using it, did everything I could myself, was unable to, so I requested assistance here [4]. Instead of assistance, I was removed from the list. Because I have had difficulties on wikipedia recieving help from administrators when requested, this message is in essence a generic template I am writing on all moderators' talk pages and discussion boards in the hopes of recieving if nothing else a response - ideally, however, a solution. Thank you very much and apologies for my impatience. Gregorof/ (T) 05:24, 3 November 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading Image:Broblood2tt11a.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image is unlicensed for use on Wikipedia and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use.
Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Fritz S. ( Talk) 12:04, 24 November 2006 (UTC)
