The reason the first word of your reference link (in the rapeseed article) didn't show up is that hyperlinks on Wikipedia don't use a pipe, only a space. So when you put, [http://dictionary.oed.com/|OED Online], it made a link named "Online" that went to http://dictionary.oed.com/%7COED, which isn't a valid URL. Sacrificing a superfluous "The" to the markup language gods only stuck it in the URL in place of "OED". What is needed to end the URL is a space: [http://dictionary.oed.com/ OED Online]. I caught the mistake because I've done it myself so many times...everything else on Wikipedia uses a sheffer; why shouldn't regular old hyperlinks? I just thought you might like to know. Thanks for all your contributions. MagnesianPhoenix ( talk) 12:57, 16 November 2007 (UTC) [signed retroactively]
Thanks! I remember now; it's just been a while since I added an external link... Dependent Variable ( talk) 05:47, 18 November 2007 (UTC)
Was absolutely amazed to find a reference to that Durham talk of mine on the "Kenning" page! Wow! Somebody reads me, cool! Thanks! But then we may as likely as not know each other, no? You're welcome to say hello at my LiveJournal, nornore.livejournal.com, never mind that's in Russian :-) Snerrir ( talk) 04:01, 27 May 2009 (UTC)
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current
Arbitration Committee election. The
Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia
arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose
site bans,
topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The
arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to
review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on
the voting page. For the Election committee,
