As you can see from my userpage, I'm retiring from Wikipedia. This is for a variety of reasons, first of which is real-life reasons - I don't have the time or energy to edit Wikipedia like I use to. I use to enjoy editing the encyclopedia on a daily basis, however, I now feel that urge and enjoyment has gone, and I don't want to feel like I'm editing the encyclopedia for "the sake of it".
It's been a fun two years, even though I deeply regret some of the things I did within that time. A few users who I'd like to thank:
I've probably missed out half a dozen there, but every user is special in their own, unique way.
It's been a fun ride, but all good things must come to a halt. I'd like to thank WP:PW and WP:F1 for helping me get a few articles close to me to FA-status - hopefully they can be maintained to featured standard in the future.
You might see me doing minor edits in the future - and if time frees up, I might edit here and there, but for the most part, I'm out of here. As I said at the beginning, Wikipedia use to be a fun place to edit. In my personal view, it no longer is because of the constant bickering that tends to override all the good work that you guys do. If only everyone could like each other. Thanks to those that have make Wikipedia a friendlier environment, and I'll see you some time, some where, some day. This is absolutely ridiculous. Why do you think users LEAVE this project? I find this embarrasing to look at.

It is unfortunate that you are leaving us, especially at a time when there is serious decline in number of editors on Wikipedia and even more decreasing number of good and serious editors. I wish you success in your future endeavors. Leave Sleaves talk 17:53, 25 November 2008 (UTC)
I'm very sad to see you've gone, but we all have to move on eventually. Nobody can edit forever, and we all eventually come to real life time contraints that hold us back from editing. Thank you for all you've done for me in your time here, and good luck moving forward in real life. Hopefully you'll come back one day, but for now - you'll be missed. iMatthew 19:36, 25 November 2008 (UTC)
You and me never really talked or got to know one another, but it is sad to see you retire. Hopefully one day you'll decide to come out of retirement and you and me can talk. The project will not be the same without you. I guess I'll say something cliche and leave. Happy trails.-- Will C 05:43, 27 November 2008 (UTC)
