Hello, Commvolunteer. You recently made two changes to the White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia page. The first change (to add wikilinks to the word "sulphur" in the name of the town, and to wikilink "United States") was unnecessary. The United States was already wikilinked in the article, and since nothing in the article relates the name of the town to any actual sulphur nearby, there is no need for that wikilink. The second change you made was to add the article to the category Libraries in the United States. Since this article is not about a library, that is an inappropriate category for the article. Your recent addition to Category:Libraries in West Virginia was improper and has been reverted. Category pages in Wikipedia are not built by adding text directly to the page, but rather by adding the tag [[Category:Libraries in West Virginia]] to the article to be included in the category. The article Virginia Canals and Navigations Society has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{
dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why in your
edit summary or on
the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{
dated prod}}
will stop the
proposed deletion process, but other
deletion processes exist. The
speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and
articles for deletion allows discussion to reach
consensus for deletion.

Commvolunteer - I know proposed deletion is stressful for new editors. The deletion of this article is not inevitable and as an established society (1977) there must be sufficient 3rd party sourcing to verify notability. If you are serious about improving this article then there are some things I suggest you do.
I am going to assist you with another avenue as well, and that is the solicitation of help from two WikiProjects-- Wikipedia:WikiProject Virginia and Wikipedia:WikiProject Transport. You'll note I added the project templates to the article's talk page. WikiProjects are an excellent methodology to get editors interested in common topics together. I would encourage your participation in them.
Good Luck and I trust you will improve the article to meet WP guidelines and poilcies.-- Mike Cline ( talk) 21:28, 8 March 2010 (UTC)
I have been ill and out of touch for a long time. I did not know this page would be deleted and I would give anything to restore this page. It is a notable organization that has done a great deal of good. If there is some way I could fix this, I would be grateful.````
Commvolunteer, many libraries have access to NewsBank. My Virginia county library has access to the archives of a number of state newspapers. A quick search turned up over 150 news articles. The Virginia Canals and Navigations Society has done some good preservation work. Good luck.-- Chuck369 ( talk) 01:04, 9 March 2010 (UTC)
