Hello Cehelmuth, and welcome to Wikipedia. Your additions to
Draft:The New Children's Museum have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the
public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a
suitably-free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see
Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid

The article Quyen T. Nguyen has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted after seven days unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.
If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{ prod blp/dated}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. I've noticed for quite a while that many of your edits are highly promotional and you've repeatedly uploaded photos as either your own work or noted that they were released by the author. Do you have any connection, personal or professionally to any of the subjects you have written about? Can you also indicate where in the link you provided for this file that the author explicitly granted usage rights? Please read the relevant policies: WP:PAID WP:COI and respond before editing any further. Praxidicae ( talk) 15:38, 24 September 2020 (UTC)
Thank you Praxidicae for helping to keep Wikipedia a reliable source of information. Here are answers to your comments and questions. 1) I don't have many edits. I have only written 2 other articles, one published, one unfinished. I do not feel that any of these are promotional, any more than any other biography I have seen on Wikipedia. I write about individuals who have done unusual things, but have used reliable sources to verify these. 2) Most images that I post are not from the subject, but from news sources about the subject and these should fall under fair use. 3) I do not have any connection, personally or professionally, to the subjects I have written about. I am not paid to write. I am an educator, and like many people who write on Wikipedia, I am inspired by individuals who are making unique contributions to their communities and society as a whole, and who are role models for minorities. 4) I believe I have attributed the image of Kilma Lattin and the Emmy Award to UC Santa Barbara, his alma mater, where I was informed that they took this photo for a press release for the alumni association.
Additionally, please note that each accomplishment listed on the page for Kilma Lattin has been carefully researched and cited with reliable and verifiable sources.
Please consider that deleting this page would be contributing to the imbalance of diversity represented on Wikipedia, which should equitably include the contributions and stories of living Native Americans as well as individuals of all backgrounds, religions, ethnicities, and genders.
HLMC98 16:08, 24 September 2020 (UTC)HLMC98
UC Santa Barbara. It was a photo I thought would be good for the post and I emailed the alumni association at UC Santa Barbara for permission. I sent out several emails about various photos I had wanted to use to different sources and they were the first to respond. I am researching the issue of tribal sovereignty and came across this individual who seemed to have an unusually wide variety of activities listed on google and I found it fascinating. Thank you for letting me know, Giraffer. I will be more careful to cite edits from now on. I realized that the introduction repeated information already listed below, so I condensed the text, to address some of the concerns in the tag.
I started the process of trimming the article down to what is encyclopedic. It may seem brutal, but when it comes to topics that barely qualify for an article in the first place under Wikipedia's notability criteria, less IS more. Why? Because too much makes people think the page's purpose is to promote the topic. There is more information on Talk:Kilma S. Lattin.
Even with this gutting, there is still the possibility that it will be nominated for deletion. If it is, I predict it will barely survive with a "no consensus to delete" outcome, which is basically a "neutral, barely qualifies to stay" outcome. However, there is a small possibility that it may be deleted after a week-long deletion discussion. There isn't much you can do to prevent this, other than hope he runs for statewide office or the state assembly or something else that will get him enough coverage that he is clearly "over the line" when it comes to being "notable enough to have a stand-alone article in Wikipedia." davidwr/( talk)/( contribs) 22:29, 24 September 2020 (UTC)
Hi. I noticed, in your post at The Teahouse, that your signature is not properly formatted and contains no link to your user or user talk pages, a requirement of
WP:CUSTOMSIG. The easiest solution is to reset to the default signature as described in
#Problem with your custom signature "Solution 1" above. Please also take care that, when you post to a discussion page, that you place the four tildes ( ~~~~
) at the very end of the last line of your post – nothing should come after them. This is necessary to make sure that archivers and other types of scripts can correctly locate the timestamp. Thanks. —[

A file that you uploaded or altered, File:Kilma Lattin.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Files for discussion. Please see the discussion to see why it has been listed (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry). Feel free to add your opinion on the matter below the nomination. A tag has been placed on File:Kilma Lattin.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the file appears to be a blatant copyright infringement of https://www.comm.ucsb.edu/news/announcement/849. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use it — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.
Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Thanks for uploading File:Judy bernstein portrait.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.
If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{ non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F11 of the criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Whpq ( talk) 17:49, 26 September 2020 (UTC)

Hello, I'm
Giraffer. I noticed that in
this edit to
Kilma S. Lattin, you removed content without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an
edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, the removed content has been restored. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on
my talk page. Thank you.

Thanks. —[

An article you recently created,
Native American Financial Officers Association, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from
reliable,
independent sources. (
?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (
verifiability is of
central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to
draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's
general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.

Thank you. davidwr/( talk)/( contribs) 17:15, 26 September 2020 (UTC)
Whatever you did to get the people at https://www.theypouredfirebooks.com/authors/#judy to update their web site to show that the photo was released under the {{ cc-by-4.0}} license, thank you. I have updated the file's description page and removed the deletion template. Consider moving the file to the Wikimedia Commons. If you do, consider renaming it with a capital B in Bernstein. davidwr/( talk)/( contribs) 18:39, 26 September 2020 (UTC)

Hello Calliopejen1, thank you for looking at this. I will try to simplify the language so it sounds more encyclopedic and less narrative. Thank you also for the links, those are good ones. There's a great deal of biographical information from his Rizzoli monograph as they interviewed him. Should I cite page numbers perhaps?
