I have started a Wikipedia:Request for comment on this topic at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Eurovision#RfC on ESCKaz reliability. This discussion originates from questions on the reliability of the ESCKaz website and if it should be used in Eurovision articles on Wikipedia. It has now being extended to fully review all sources used in articles covered by WikiProject Eurovision, including ESCToday and Oikotimes. This is a very important issue to the project as sourcing is a key part of articles, and consensus needs to be reached on which sources should be used when, where and how. This discussion however has so far lacked a wide range of editor participation, and as you have listed yourself as a member of WikiProject Eurovision I invite you to add your thoughts. In particular more input is needed from editors which have a high level of experience with relevant guidelines/policies such as Wikipedia:Reliable sources and Wikipedia:Verifiability, and who have up until now stayed outside this debate, though all contributions are welcome. Thank you. Camaron | Chris (talk) 10:59, 27 October 2008 (UTC)

Hey, just to let you know, the spokespersons and commentators belong on each individual country's page for that year. For example, not on Eurovision Song Contest 1975, but on United Kingdom in the Eurovision Song Contest 1975, etc. Grk1011/Stephen ( talk) 13:37, 17 November 2008 (UTC)

A second RfC has been started on sourcing for Eurovision articles, you can view it at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Eurovision#RfC on reliable sources for Eurovision articles. This RfC is critical as it will help determine how current and future Eurovision articles are sourced, and as much participation as possible is needed for a consensus to develop. You are being notified as you are listed as an active user of Wikipedia:WikiProject Eurovision, and hence the results of this RfC could have a large impact on the articles you edit. The second RfC on sourcing for Eurovision articles has now being running for several weeks, you can view it at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Eurovision#RfC on reliable sources for Eurovision articles. In order to help gauge the spread of opinion and draw conclusions from this discussion a straw poll has been started at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Eurovision#Straw poll. All project members are encouraged to read the RfC thoroughly and then cast their votes as they see fit. Rationales are still encouraged in the main discussion area above the poll, and participants can add appropriate new sources or options to the poll as they wish. Thank you for your contributions to Eurovision Song Contest articles. I have noticed that you are adding a lot of content to articles which is unsourced. Please review the Wikipedia:Verifiability policy which requires that content that is challenged or is likely to be challenged be sourced to reliable sources. This is more important for content related to living people, such as your additions related to commentators and spokespersons; please read the Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons policy, which applies to all articles, including Eurovision ones. Please be aware that content that is unsourced may be deleted without prior warming, particularly if it relates to living people. CT Cooper · talk 11:42, 4 May 2011 (UTC)

A few of the article you have edited appeared on my watchlist over the weekend. I have reverted all of them as you added personal biographical information without including a reliable source for verification. Please ensure you do so for any future edits, there is a reason why it is policy. Note that IMDB is not considered a reliable source and therefore cannot be used for verification. If you cannot find a source, then please do not add the information - it's better to be missing information than to include incorrect info. -- Jezebel'sPonyo bons mots 13:30, 27 June 2011 (UTC)

Welcome to Wikipedia. Please be aware of Wikipedia's policy that
biographical information about living persons must not include
unsupported or inaccurate statements. Whenever you add possibly controversial statements about a living person to an article or any other Wikipedia page, as you did to
Eurovision Song Contest 1993, you must include proper
sources. If you don't know how to
cite a source, you may want to read
Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners for guidelines. Thank you. It is vital that when you add content to articles about living people that they are carefully sourced. By this I mean sources which are a)
published and b)
reliable. Remember that most of the content you are adding concerns
living people where the rules are stricter and more strictly enforced, for example
self-published material is blanket banned for material about living people. While I thank you for your efforts with content, please give priority to verifiability over completeness.

Hi Carlos,
I've noticed you've reordered the spokespersons and commentators details on Eurovision Song Contest 1958. Any reason why you have done this? Its just that they are suppose to be listed in alphabetical order in accordance to country. This keeps things consistent across all other Eurovision articles. Would you be so kind as to reorder things back into alphabetical order - thanks Wesley ☀ Mouse 16:06, 8 April 2012 (UTC)
I've reordered them to the order of appearance and reverse voting order since the other articles are listed that way since I think it's a more logical order than the alphabetical one. Carlos MS ( talk) 16:23, 8 April 2012 (UTC)

I noticed a couple of translation errors that you made on Eurovision Song Contest 1986 and Du er fuld af løgn. Bienvenue! Willkommen! Welcome! Please be warm-hearted in encouraging everyone to do their best to contribute to all Eurovision-related Wikipedia articles, and welcome our new members to the project. It is easy for editors to get into conflict with each other, and things can get very nasty on the most trivial of issues, whether that be on the language of songs, the names of certain countries, or how we deal with incidents at the contest. In such circumstances it is worth remembering one thing: we are all here to build an encyclopedia, and the contribution of Eurovision to human knowledge can only be given justice if we work together and make articles, not drama!
Happy editing!

Bienvenue! Willkommen! Welcome! Please be warm-hearted in encouraging everyone to do their best to contribute to all Eurovision-related Wikipedia articles, and welcome our new members to the project. The past month has been an eventful one for the project as a whole. Old dramas have closed, new ones have begun. Four articles nominated for GA review, three of them passed and promoted, with one of them making ProjectEurovision history by being the first annual contest article to ever achieve GA status. If it wasn't for the hard work and the many hours of team collaborations that we have endured on this project, then those accolades would never have been gained. Each of those article promotions are as a result of your continuous determination to be part of the best team this project has seen for a long time. There is a teamwork barnstar with this newsletter for you to cherish and you may display the award on your pages if you wish. Now we look to the months ahead and start preparations for Malmo 2013, and see if we can work to getting another annual article to GA status. Here's to you - the team of excellence.

Hi Carlos,
How do you fancy a task that would be most helpful to the Eurovision Project? I've noticed on a lot of the Eurovision by Year articles that they are containing raw reference links, most of which don't contain {{ cite web}} and/or have the reference field data missing such as publisher, access date, language etc. Some of the links are also no longer available and come up with 404 error code when attempting to view the website, and some links are to blogs which are not permitted. Would you like to have the task of checking through them and assisting me with a major ref tidy-up operation? Wesley Mouse 15:36, 24 July 2012 (UTC)
An example of what I mean: Eurovision Song Contest 1996#References and Eurovision Song Contest 2012#References you notice the references are all labelled up; whereas Eurovision Song Contest 1975#References and Eurovision Song Contest 1980#References have raw links showing. Bienvenue! Willkommen! Welcome! Please be warm-hearted in encouraging everyone to do their best to contribute to all Eurovision-related Wikipedia articles, and welcome our new members to the project. Remember that this project can only operate if we act in a cooperative manner and engage in discussions regarding article matters. It is seen as best practice to put forward ideas to other members of the project before rushing ahead and acting on a potential falsifying action. If you feel an article may warrant a deletion, why not test the waters by opening a discussion on the article's talk page or our very own project talk page - before rushing off and submitting an AfD. It saves wasting time nominating an article for deletion which could end up with an overwhelming "keep" by other editors. Communicating with each other is a vital tool and a skill that may prove advantageous in real-life scenarios. Also be on the look out for potential new members to the project. Post {{subst:EurovisionInvite}} (which will produced this template) on any user page you think is interested to join the WikiProject, to officially invite them to join.

Hello, I'm
BracketBot. I have automatically detected that
your edit to

edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that you've added some links pointing to disambiguation pages. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current
Arbitration Committee election. The
Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia
arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose
site bans,
topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The
arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to
review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on

WikiProject Eurovision Important Announcement
Dear Project Member Following a project community discussion, which was raised over the use of English translation columns on annual contest articles, and advice from the lead coordinator of The Guild of Copy Editors, who are extremely knowledgeable in regards to all editing practises and manual of style policies. A consensus decision has been reached to fully remove ALL English translations, as such content falls under the prohibition on original research, even if it seems helpful to the reader. This is because we have now to assume that every reader has access to automated translation tools that can always give them a sense of the meaning of the title in their native language; it is not Wikipedia's job to provide those tools for the reader. Which therefore means we are no longer to include an English translation column, nor are we to provide translation by any other means on contest articles. Such information is currently in the process of being removed, and a new table formatting and layout style is being rolled out across all articles. Please view the new guidance on table layout at Wikipedia:WikiProject Eurovision/Format and Guides#Article layout. An example of the new table layout style can also be access via the collapsed section within this message. Thank you. |

Hi. Yes, there were: Wioleta Machowiec, Jacek Skubikowski, Patrycja Markowska, Robert Janson, Magda Makarewicz, Wojciech Karolak, Olga Kurek, Paweł Brodowski, Danuta Błażejczyk, Michał Borkowski, Anita Lipnicka, Grzegorz Szczyrba, Joanna Rawik, Jacek Makowski, Hanna Banaszak and Artur Jaworski. Robert Błaszczak was a scrutineer and Jan Chojnacki was a secretary of the jury. :) Serecki ( talk) 13:23, 30 June 2018 (UTC)
Thank you very much for your kind answer, but that was the Polish jury from ESC 1997, not 1996. I only know 5 members from 1996: Justyna, Kayah, Ewa Bem, Grzegorz Ciechowski and Urszula. I tried to contact TVP, but without success, since my Polish is not very good.

I know, but the order of appearance is official and the alphabetical one not. Carlos MS ( talk) 16:32, 8 April 2012 (UTC)

Carlos,
I noticed a couple of translation errors that you made on Eurovision Song Contest 1986 and Du er fuld af løgn. You changed the English translation to "you are a liar", which the actual translation should be "you are full of lies". I'm quite good when it comes to the Danish language. Bienvenue! Willkommen!

Thank you.

Yes, there were: Wioleta Machowiec, Jacek Skubikowski, Patrycja Markowska, Robert Janson, Magda Makarewicz, Wojciech Karolak, Olga Kurek, Paweł Brodowski, Danuta Błażejczyk, Michał Borkowski, Anita Lipnicka, Grzegorz Szczyrba, Joanna Rawik, Jacek Makowski, Hanna Banaszak and Artur Jaworski.
