I just wanted to thank you for explaining the exact situation regarding this prime ministerial transition and how the Icelandic system works. I like to keep my finger on the pulse with world affairs but as you so well know, knowledge on Iceland through much of the world is a mystery, partly because of the tiny population but mostly because we don't meet many diasporans if indeed there are any! Keep up the good editing. Evlekis 7 June 2006
Hello! I need your help. I need you to move, rename or merge these category pages and their respective talk pages to the correct format following MOSNUM. This is to provide greater consistency and prevent redundancy to these pages. This is also to prevent users from creating the same category pages as well. Some of these categories contain two similiar pages because of this. These are the categories in question:
Notice that the changes in the title pages only require the addition of a comma for 4 and more digit numbers. You should also delete the redundant category pages as well. Your help in this matter will be greatly appreciated. Thank You once again for your time! --

Hi. You are one of many editors having expressed a concern about the licence for David Liuzzo's maps. He already changed this for the European countries without EU-highlighting, see Commons - Template:Europe location. The creator promised to do so as well for their version with EU-highlighting, and nothing will go on as long as this may not have been taken care of. Meanwhile, in case you like to inspect the presently modified licence and wish to comment on it, please do so in the subsection Comments on the February 2007 new licence for David Liuzzo maps. Kind regards. — SomeHuman 3 Feb 2007 17:13 (UTC)
On the WikiProject Countries talk page, you had either explictly declared a general interest in the project, or had participated at a discussion that appears related to
Location Maps for European countries.
New maps had been created by David Liuzzo, and are available for the countries of the European continent, and for countries of the European Union exist in two versions. From
November 16,
2006 till
January 31,
2007, a poll had tried to find a consensus for usage of 'old' or of which and where 'new' version maps. At its closing, 25 people had spoken in favor of either of the two presented usages of new versions but neither version had reached a consensus (12 and 13), and 18 had preferred old maps.
As this outcome cannot justify reverting of new maps that had become used for some countries, seconds before
February 5,
2007 a survey started that will be closed at
February 20,
2007 23:59:59. It should establish whether the new style maps may be applied as soon as some might become available for countries outside the European continent (or such to depend on future discussions), and also which new version should be applied for which countries.
Please note that since
January 1,
2007 all new maps became updated by David Liuzzo (including a world locator, enlarged cut-out for small countries) and as of
February 4,
2007 the restricted licence that had jeopardized their availability on Wikimedia Commons, became more free. The subsections on the talk page that had shown David Liuzzo's original maps, now show his most recent design.
Please read the
discussion (also in other sections
α,
β,
γ,
δ,
ε,
ζ,
η,
θ) and in particular the arguments offered by the forementioned poll, while realizing some comments to have been made prior to updating the maps, and all prior to modifying the licences, before carefully reading the
presentation of the currently open survey. You are invited to only then finally make up your mind and vote for only one option.
There mustnot be 'oppose' votes; if none of the options would be appreciated, you could vote for the option you might with some effort find least difficult to live with - rather like elections only allowing to vote for one of several candidates. Obviously, you are most welcome to leave a brief argumentation with your vote. Kind regards. —

Thanks for uploading Image:Left-green movement.PNG. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read carefully the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content and then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. BetacommandBot 22:28, 5 June 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Alcan_straumsvik.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the " my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. MER-C 12:25, 8 July 2007 (UTC)

Hi, I saw you corrected my edit of the table overview in Regions of Iceland. Since those terms are unfamiliar to me, I would like to ask you if my other usages are correct (I'm also using them in the German Wikipedia):

Hey.
Regards, Bjarki ( talk) 22:17, 7 February 2008 (UTC)
Hi again, thanks for your reply about subdivision names (just above). I didn't think I would have to bother you again that soon, but it appears that you created various subdivision maps, such as Image:Sveitarfélög-landsvæði.png and Image:Regions of Iceland.png. Very nice maps indeed, but they yield the wrong impression that the large glacier fields, especially the Vatnajökull are outside region and municipality bounds, while official documents such as [1] (region map on the fist page) and [2] (municipality map on the home page) show that this is not the case. It would be nice if at a convenient time you could do a little makeover of your maps, extending the boundaries into the glacier fields (but while leaving those white, it is an important information to show where they are).-- Ratzer ( talk) 14:17, 8 February 2008 (UTC)
I have tagged Image:Husavik_seal.jpg as {{ no rationale}}, because it does not provide a fair use rationale. If you believe the image to be acceptable for fair use according to Wikipedia policy, please provide a rationale explaining as much, in accordance with the fair use rationale guideline, on the image description page. Some examples can be found at Wikipedia:Use rationale examples. Please also consider using {{ non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags/Non-free. Thank you. Hi!
I've been trying to clean up the Icelandic names on geonames.org (they are a huge mess, after years of administrative reorganisation on Iceland). Geonames is a database of "all" place names, and is used on a lot of web sites (my weather site, yr.no, is one of them).
Do you have any good border definitions for Iceland? Shape files? Other geographic files? The first administrative level is the most important, but other levels would be great to get too!
I tried to send you an email, but the link doesn't work... I would be very happy if you could respond on email: erik dott bolstad at nrk dot no

Thanks for uploading File:Kopavogur pos.png. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of that website's terms of use of its content. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.
If you have uploaded other files, consider verifying that you have specified sources for those files as well. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged per Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion, F4. If the image is copyrighted and non-free, the image will be deleted 48 hours after 21:51, 4 April 2010 (UTC) per speedy deletion criterion F7.

For the record, there has, actually, been extensive discussion, on Talk:Bukharan Jews, in which User:LeeMulod333 has not bothered to participate constructively. Tomer talk 08:14, 22 November 2007 (UTC)
Actually, you were the one who chose to be ignorant to they way that Bukharians call themselves. Bukharan is a mistake. Are you saying that Bukharians are mistakenly pronouncing their names? Who are you to tell Bukharians how to spell their culture? You are no one big or important. I'm no on big or important either but I am Bukharian and I know how to pronounce and spell it. Could you please take look on this article and correct possible geographical absurdities and misspellings? It is about a 17. century Czech traveler to Iceland who wrote a book about the journey. The text is based on a foreword to modern reprint and even I was able to see few mistakes. Pavel Vozenilek ( talk) 14:13, 24 December 2007 (UTC)
Hi, I saw you corrected my edit of the table overview in Regions of Iceland. Since those terms are unfamiliar to me, I would like to ask you if my other usages are correct (I'm also using them in the German Wikipedia):
I need the correct singular and plural of each level or type of subdivision:

Thank you. I'm leaving you a note as you may be interested in this opportunity.
People from all six Nordic Wiki-communities (sv, no, nn, fi, da and is) are coordinating a bid for Wikimania 2010 in Stockholm. I'm sending you a message to let you know that this is occurring, and over the next few months we're looking for community support to make sure this happens! See the bid page on meta and if you like such an idea, please sign the "supporters" list at the bottom. Tack (or takk), and have a wonderful day! Mike H. Fierce! 09:47, 5 August 2008 (UTC)
Thank you for your immediate concern for the article "Iceland". I love that country and everyone who is somehow related with it. I want Iceland and its history to be present here correctly. Thank you again. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.232.80.218 ( talk) 18:53, 18 October 2008 (UTC)

Hi Bjarki S/Archive3,
I'm asking Wikipedians who are interested in
United States legal articles to take a look at
WP:Hornbook, the new "JD curriculum task force".
Our mission is to assimilate into Wikipedia all the insights of an American law school education, by reducing hornbooks to footnotes.
What you can do now:

Hello Bjarki S! Thank you for your contributions. I am a
bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an
Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The
biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure
verifiability, all biographies should be based on
reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current
866 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{
unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. FASTILYsock (TALK) 21:51, 4 April 2010 (UTC)
