Thanks to someone who has never worked on WP:CFB or WP:NFL, I see that we now have Portal:NFL, in addition to Portal:American football and Portal:College football. As you probably know, Hank O'Day was just elected to the Hall of Fame and will be inducted next summer. Perhaps the Umpires Task Force could take on a project of getting his article to FA and trying to have it mainpaged the day of the inductions? If we take this on, I don't know that I'll be able to be the primary author, but I'd be glad to do what I can, particularly as to the umpiring portion of his career. What say you? The player's name is CHOO Shin-soo. Since he was born and raised in South Korea, family names appear first. Just because YOU never heard of his name pronounced "CHOO Shin-soo," it doesn't mean that it's not true. Check: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ryu_Hyun-jin. As you can see, his family name appears first. It would be wrong to call Babe Ruth, Ruth Babe in the Korean wiki, right? Exactly. It appears as Babe Ruth. Same goes for English wikipedia. Only in America is he known as Shin-soo CHOO. Names don't change; only the teams he plays for. If he returned to Korea to play, will his name change in English wiki? That would be ridiculous. Here are some other internationally-recognized Korean athletes where the English wiki has the correct name order: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kim_Yu-Na http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Park_Tae-Hwan http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Park_Ji-Sung — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ducati748 ( talk • contribs) 03:50, 15 December 2012 (UTC)

Throughout the project, breaches of the expected level of decorum are common. These violations of the community's standards of conduct are unevenly, and often ineffectively, enforced. ( 1, 2)

Geez....you've got 1/2 a dozen christmas trees on your lawn. Anyway, thanks for the quick fix at WER:talk. I was entering that edit right at 6 and didn't want to miss my train into the city. I hope you don't mind that I kind of did a spackle job to cover-up my goof. TRA! ``` Buster Seven Talk 02:53, 22 December 2012 (UTC) O! and thanks for the support elsewhere. Buster Seven Talk

Festivus for the rest of us! | |
Frank Costanza: "Many Christmases ago, I went to buy a doll for my son. I reached for the last one they had, but so did another man. As I rained blows upon him, I realized there had to be another way." Cosmo Kramer: "What happened to the doll?" Frank Costanza: "It was destroyed. But out of that a new holiday was born: a Festivus for the rest of us!" Kramer: "That must have been some kind of doll." Frank Costanza: "She was." This holiday season, have a fantastic Festivus! —

What have you been smoking...the Shroud of Turin? You do not have the right to push your ignorant Christian positions on Wikipedia. Christianity is a religion steeped in violence. Perhaps you should check your history, pal. Why are your antiquated religious views acceptable but actual historical fact is banned? You cannot silence the truth. Ban me and I will reappear in another form, again and again. --THC Loadee 20:43, 25 December 2012 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by THC Loadee ( talk • contribs)
Hi, non-admin closures are supposed to be made only when decisions are clear-cut and uncontroversial. That is not the case here and I strongly suggest that you revert your closure. Thanks. -- Randykitty ( talk) 23:31, 26 December 2012 (UTC)
