Sq miles to sq km'sI was wondering if you know how to convert square miles to square kilometers? Looking at another article I figured out how to convert acres to kilometers square. Below is the code for 110,000 acres (450 km2) (convert|110000|acre|sqkm|-1) Thanks, Rocketmaniac ( talk) 19:49, 5 December 2007 (UTC)
A quick one...Just created my first infobox: Ferenc Joachim. A tough one, since I don't know ANYTHING about the types of infoboxes yet... so I improvised. I used "Infobox Person", but there may be another, more appropriate heading; "artist" isn't it. Also, could you tell me what to write to serve notice I'm working on it? "In Use" something? Looked over your design suggestions for Her Majesty's Navel Person... and am very tempted. Liked User: Timotab best. Will look around a little more and ask you to do the decorating. Have some more very punny Confuscian sayings but they're somewhat rude. For example: Virginity like bubble: one prick, all gone. so let me know y/n. Many thanks! I put the pix inside the infobox but the caption looked awful and the picture looked unframed - it needs some kind of outline between the picture, the caption and the rest of the information to work, which is 'way beyond my league. There IS an 'artist' infobox that only allows 2-3 lines - or at least that's all I got from it. I'm still a dunce when it comes to references and research, but that article and the one about his son are going to get major re-writes. *Flash* I'll check another painter's page to see how their infobox edits! Cute and eager but may need a hand newbieAriel, dah-ling: Your gentle and clever touch may be needed to gently guide a fairly new and VERY energetic new user, (User:4444hhhh) She (I am guessing this is a she, and under 16) appears to have been a wikipedian for a few months, and now has created Template:Equidae and Wikipedia:Wikiproject Equines in about two days. Voila, how about that? I'm impressed, and the template is a dandy! Not sure is was done the way the protocol is supposed to go, but it doesn't look too bad, actually...and especially considering that we horse people have been jawing about a horse project for months and not actually making one happen. So far she has mostly been great and just adding the template to assorted pages, but she seems young, and may need a little guidance and some slowing down to not get overdone with other edits that are not helpful (I had to revert one, not a big deal, just stuff that didn't belong where it was put. Also have been tweaking the template a bit, tiny bit of red links and iffy categorization going on). And, um, er, well, you know how I can get snarky, biting newcomers and such, when I don't mean to, so am calling in my posse of people who are kinder and more patient than I am to take her hand and keep all that wonderful energy properly directed!! Anyway, this is probably a good young editor if we treat her well, but she could get a little overeager. Just a heads up, you might want to say hi to her. And, if you could, answer me here on your talk page, mine is probably now on her watchlist (grin). Montanabw (talk) 06:35, 9 December 2007 (UTC)

Landry List of questionsHey, it's me again. I'm back with landry list of questions. 1) How do you add an 5-character indent to a paragraph without it putting a wierd dotted box around the text and puts all of the paragraph on one line? (note this is just for my userpage, as I figure that indents are not used in normal articles) I was trying to indent the first line in both of the paragraphs on my main userpage.
2) How do you put a border around certain cells of a table? I studied your main userpage and copied how you had done it around each of your sections. But on your page, it is a solid line. On my page (see the "Next Space Shuttle Mission" on my main page) there are spaces between some of the cells.
3) The South Carolina article has an external link to a very biased website. http://www.freescrepublic.com/ I have made the comment on the TALK page that this is not an appropriate link. I want to remove it, but somehow I feel I am going to start a "revert" war. Is there an "oversight" committee or something that will back me up if I delete it and a war starts?
4) Last item isn't really a question. Remember a few weeks ago with I called you a Big-time admin? And you told me you were only an editor like myself? Well, I think I have solved this problem. Since you are not (at least at this time) an admin person, but since is it very easy to see that you are much more that a normal editor, I have created a userbox for you. Enjoy. Question about warning vandalsMy most common encounter is with anonymous users with no account registered that make edits that are obvious vandalism (blanking a page, adding spam to a page, adding vulgar messages). IP addresses, in other words. What's the best way I should handle it? What I've done in the past is to leave a generic signed message on their talk page "Please do not vandalize Wikipedia. Happy HolidaysPicture being re-added to TrampDear Ariel (and her loyal talk page watchers), There's a user(s) who keep readding a picture of an ostensibly homeless man to the article Tramp, and I was wondering if you'd take a look at it for me. I gave a detailed rationale on the talk page for why the picture should not be included in the article, but its removal has been reverted at least twice without an edit summary or explanation. I have no desire to edit war or violate 3RR, left a note on the talk page of the IP as well about it, but I'm sure I'll get reverted again. If you wouldn't mind keeping an eye out on it if you agree with me, that would be great. Tramp is a pejorative term and there should not be a real person used to illustrate the concept; the man in the picture is merely standing there looking unkempt. ~ Eliz 81 (C) 22:20, 14 December 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for explaining. It did seem odd that it had been tagged as a test page, because it went on and on and ON about a website in beta stage for people who knit (and associated arts). No references, no sources, no notability, as you suspected. As a website, it didn't qualify, but at least it made a change from MMORPGs and real estate sites, which seem to have been cropping up a lot lately. Sorry to have gotten in your way; in the future, I'm at your service. Accounting4Taste: talk 06:03, 15 December 2007 (UTC)
Ravelry Speedy DeletionJust a quick note to explain that this article, and the related website, have special significance to the the 50,000+ people who utilize Ravelry. I am working with other members of the community to gather a list of links and references, and as far as notability, again, 50,000+ members strong. It is akin to articles about video gaming; it doesn't mean anything to me, specifically, but if the article is deleted, then the people to whom it matters have no chance to make necessary changes to it. Djdhaysjr ( talk) 06:10, 15 December 2007 (UTC)
So, if I am reading the Notability page correctly, Ravelry should have been commented on by outside sources, in print articles? Djdhaysjr ( talk) 06:38, 15 December 2007 (UTC)
I think that the biggest barrier is that the site is still quite new. It has been commented on numerous times, on blogs; I understand how those are not always reliable. However, the blog mentions that I would refer you to have been written by published authors, among them; Stephanie Pearl-McPhee (Knitting Rules!, The Yarn Harlot, Stephanie Pearl-McPhee Casts Off!), Michael Del Vecchio (Knitting with Balls), etc. It has also been written up on WebWare, and on About.com. Djdhaysjr ( talk) 06:48, 15 December 2007 (UTC) See, that just goes to show you, it does have a presence out there; the article you mentioned was a new one to me! But were you able to read the two articles that I provided? They go into further detail about what the site is, etc. Djdhaysjr ( talk) 06:58, 15 December 2007 (UTC)

It is too bad they changed that format, but I guess I must not be in the majority who thinks it is helpful to have the states, lol. No biggie! Ariel ♥ Gold 00:23, 8 December 2007 (UTC)

Continued bad Username on Talk:SpongeBob SquarePantsYou'll are changing my username, in order to make me create an account. I don't need to create an account. Because Wikipedia users don't need to create an account, and I'm an unregistered user. Not only that, my username remains the same because I chose it. In other words "TREAT OTHER PEOPLES WORK WITH RESPECT!!!". And as a punishment, I put my username that you'll suggested as your user name, if it happens again, I'll do it twice, got that?. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 218.101.65.46 ( talk) 04:20, 9 December 2007 (UTC)

Thanks, signed." I read through your article, but I'm still a little confused about whether to use templates in these situations or not. Forgive me. Enigmaman ( talk) 22:57, 13 December 2007 (UTC)

Ferenc Joachim - gone and done it!Would deeply appreciate your review and technical edit: I've tried to clean up the language, coherency and POV tagging, but will not touch the tags unless you say it's passable. I had to do several reverts because the article had been de-humanized to an appalling degree. It's still overblown somewhat (cultural and language bias) but interesting - I hope! Be back when I can. Check the check-mark box below it that says "Raw signatures" (Make sure it has a little check inside the box). Then, inside the text box that says "Signature", put one of the following raw codes, exactly as you see it here:
Or, you could just drop the "too" and make Shir go to your userpage, and El go to your talk page. Like this:
