Thank you very much for signing up for the July Backlog Elimination Drive! The copyedit backlog stretches back two and a half years, all the way back to the beginning of 2008! We're really going to need all the help we can to get it down to a manageable number. We've ambitiously set a goal of clearing all of 2008 from the backlog this month. In order to do that, we're going to need more participants. Is there anyone that you can invite or ask to participate with you? If so, we're offering an award to the person who brings in the most referrals. Just notify ɳorɑfʈ Talk! or Diannaa TALK of who your referrals are. Once again, thanks for your support! Hello Airplaneman, Thank you so much for the welcome message and the chocolate chip cookies! They're definitely one of my favourite kinds. I really appreciate you offering to help in wikipedia. I'm pretty sure I'll need help at some point soon too :-)
If I knew how, I'd for sure send you a glass of cold milk or perhaps, post cookies, a glass of cold beer?
Anyways, I really appreciate the welcome, and I love that plane photo! Does this mean I should look for a picture for my profile? Yikes! More wikipedia stuff to learn. How bout that huh?
Bye for now.

Hi, I have made a new feed for the New Article bot. The bot reads all the new articles for a day and puts suspected appleinc-related articles into User:AlexNewArtBot/appleincSearchResult, the articles are suppose to be manually put into the portal page and/or removed if irrelevant. Or whatever you want to do with them.
The list of rules are in User:AlexNewArtBot/appleinc, there is also the log on the User:AlexNewArtBot/appleincLog explaining the rules that sent an article to the search results (the log is cleared every day, so try to look into the history of the log). Please contact me if you are interested in the fine tuning of the rules
That is all. Any suggestions are welcome. — mono

Dear Mr Airplaneman,
Two or three days ago I sent you a lot of photos taken by me offering evidence and sources about Andreas Savvides. I also begged you warmly to write his biography, since I am not expert in writing biographies. We see so many biofraphies of persons in Wikipedia who in fact are not so notable. Why then not to write the biography of a person with so many talents?
I sent you the photos though "photosubmission@wikimedia.org" because I don't know any other way to send them. I got extremely tired in gathering all that evidence. Have they given them to you?
Meanwhile,I'd like to help by translating into English anything you want to (even medical vocabulary). Please don't hesitate to ask my help. Just send the document you want me to translate, to my e-mail address: "chrdemosthenous (at) cytanet (dot) com (dot) cy".I can translate from Greek into English anything regardless of the kind of contents.
Dear Airplaneman, where are you going to pass your holidays this summer? My plane has landed at your "talk page airport". Are you ready for a flight with it?
Your's sincerely, Christakis Demosthenous CHRISTAKIS DEMOSTHENOUS ( talk) 19:38, 22 June 2010 (UTC)
Dear Airplaneman,
I have read your instructions, for which I thank you. I'll try now to rewrite the article "ANDREAS SAVVIDES", in such a way that it would sound like an article rather than a biography. I have also learnt how to make references to sourcces used. Since it is very difficult to mention tens of the existing sources in every word or sentence I write, I will mention only one, two or three. Also, because of the huge difficulties I meet, I will write only one, two or three paras every time, so that you can be able to review the written work carefully and make any suggestions. Thanks a lot for yopur help.
Yours sincerely, Christakis Demosthenous
Now, let's begin work. CHRISTAKIS DEMOSTHENOUS ( talk) 15:06, 1 July 2010 (UTC)
Dear Airplaneman, Of course I need your your attention, as well as your help. How can I swim in the Wikipedia ocean, without your attention and help? Which I appreciate too much. Last night I began the article in the sandbox, but I have lost it. So, I'll begin it again, slowly-slowly, in my talk page. Yours sincerely CHRISTAKIS DEMOSTHENOUS ( talk) 12:37, 2 July 2010 (UTC)
Dear Airplaneman, Thanks to your help, I have finished the article. Now I'd like to upload 3 photos, two of which were published in Agon newspaper, and showing A. Savvides doing some strength feats. The third photo is from the magazine Figuretteand shows A. Savvides posing during the Mr Cyprus, 1969 contest. I have taken photos with my digital camera of these three photos. Now I'd like to know if the following procedure is correct: 1. I have located the two copyright owners of these photos (now pensionists), and I'm going to ask them to write and sign a "Declaration of consent for all enquiries". 2. I'll upload a file containing these three photos, as soon as I have the declaration of consent. 3. I'll scan the Declarations of consent, and include them in the uploaded file. What else is it necessary to do? Yours sincerely, CHRISTAKIS DEMOSTHENOUS ( talk) 20:19, 4 July 2010 (UTC)
Dear Airplaneman, As I said above, I took photos with my digital camera of three photos published in a newspaper and a magazine. Now, I am going to ask the copyright owners of the published photos to sign a "Declaration of consent". However, I have some questions: (1) Who is the copyright owner of the photos produced with my camera? If I am the copyright owner of the recently taken photos, shall I have to sign and submit a "Declaration of consent" myself (in addition to the declarations that will be signed by the copyright owners of the published photos)? It was indeed very difficult to answer this question myself. (2) Can the copyright owners agree to choose only the "GNU Free Documentation License (unversional, with no invariant sections, front-cover texts or back-cover texts? Or do they have to choose also the "Creative Commons ..."? (3) Is there any disadvantage, if they choose the option "release that work into the public domain"? Thanks a lot. Yours sincerely, CHRISTAKIS DEMOSTHENOUS ( talk) 14:46, 5 July 2010 (UTC)
Christakis, in response to your three questions:
Dear Mr Airplaneman and Mr NW. Thanks a lot for your valuable help. Fortunately, I found 9 free old photos which I composed into one, and then I took a photo of it with my digital camera. Now, I'll unload the photo, and add

Dear Airplaneman,
Not only I am drowned, I also have lost your plane from my radar.Help!!! The word "Edit" has disappeared from our talk page, so I open a new one. Now, I tried to upload a photo, that I intend to insert in the article I have written with your valuable help about "Andreas Savvides". I can't find the "upload file" in the side bar/toolbox. Where is it hidden? Thanks too much. CHRISTAKIS DEMOSTHENOUS ( talk) 12:53, 6 July 2010 (UTC)
Dear Mr Airplaneman, The 9 photos were given to me by the son of the man who took them in 1964. It is a good idea to take permission from him, but it is difficult to come in contact with him. He is travelling abroad continuously. Therefore, I decided not to upload any photo (unless you want to see them privately, in which case I can send them only to you). Therefore, let the article stand alone without photos. Now, could you please publish this article in Wikipedia, since I don't know how to do this? Thanks a lot for your patient help. My thanks also to all persons of Wikipedia who helped by answering my questions. Dear Airplaneman, Excellent suggestion. Next Monday I am going to write a new article under the title "Gymnastikos Syllogos Olympia", the most ancient athletic club in Cyprus. These days I'll go to the National Library to study sources from newspapers filed there, etc. I have noticed that there isn't any article about this club in Wikipedia. I have also noticed that there is no any article in Wikipedia about Karolina Pelendridou, a para-olympic medallist. So, my third article will be about her. 19:51, 8 July 2010 (UTC)Dear Airplaneman, In Note #2, for example, I write (a) See 1(a) above, (b) See 1(b) above, etc. By doing this I mean See Note # 1(a), ie Cyprus Mail, March 12, 1995, Michele Kambas, "HERCULES IN UNIFORM", Nicosia, and See Note #1(b), ie Phileleftheros, March 11, 1995, Maria Georgiou,.... etc. I used this method in order to avoid repeating the same source(s) again, and thus economize space. Dear Airplaneman. I'm going to try your suggestions and make the necessary corrections. Thanks a lot. By the way, what's that "Review" in gold/yellow near your name? I pressed it and came to a new page. Can I write on this new page my opinion about you or is it prohibited? Yours sincerely. CHRISTAKIS DEMOSTHENOUS ( talk) 17:22, 9 July 2010 (UTC)
Dear Airplaneman, I have noticed that you did an excellent job with the article. I have tried to correct the method of references, as you suggested, but I have found some difficulty. I pressed the "Edit" sign, to begin work, but I noticed that the four introductory lines before it, which have two references, are not included in the edit page. The correction should begin from the first two references. Suggestions, please. Thanks. CHRISTAKIS DEMOSTHENOUS ( talk) 09:36, 10 July 2010 (UTC)
Dear Airplaneman, Just for curiosity. What are you doing now? Are you on holiday? Have you reviewed my article? After about ten days I will be able to announce you some big news. I learnt from first-hand (from organizers) that about the end of this month or at the beginning of next month(day has not yet be fixed) Andreas Savvides will be awarded, a big medal and diploma for his contribution to athletics. i'll go to the ceremony with my camera. I promise to send you good photos. Yours sincerely. CHRISTAKIS DEMOSTHENOUS ( talk) 18:21, 20 July 2010 (UTC)
Dear Airplaneman, I much appreciate the hard work you are doing. As for the date of birth of A. Savvides, it is written in all his books together with his place of birth. He was born on November 9, 1942 in Pano Platres, a mountainous summer resort village. Thanks a lot. Yours sincerely. CHRISTAKIS DEMOSTHENOUS ( talk) 19:17, 21 July 2010 (UTC) Dear Airplaneman, the ceremony will take place tomorrow Friday at 11 o'clock a.m at the Olympic House in Nicosia. The medal and diploma to A. Dear Airplaneman, today, July 23, I went to the ceremony and took some photos of the old man. The G. Secretary of the Cyprus Olympic Committee, General Haralambos Lottas awarded a commemorative honorary gold medal (diam: 8cm, thickness 6 ml) to Andreas Savvides, together with a diploma, on behalf of the Executive Council of the Cyprus Olympic Committee, for his "disinterested contribution to athletics and to the Olympic Movement". After the ceremony, I asked A. Savvides to give me some photos of him. He gave me some, telling me that I could publish them freely. I don't know exactly how to send them, but I will try anyway. Yours sincerely. CHRISTAKIS DEMOSTHENOUS ( talk) 13:46, 23 July 2010 (UTC)

Is there anything you want to add to the template? If not, we need to go ahead and use it. (We can copy over a section into a sandbox and test it there first.) Thank you very much for your great assistance on that Wikiquette. I have to rigorously use discipline in keeping Wikipedia at arms length or I actually fret for 20 to 40 minutes as I try to fall asleep. Given my real-life responsibilities, fretting over battles on the Internet is A) easy to find oneself doing, and B) that is an indicator that something isn’t *right*. Getting “down in the trenches” with someone like OnePt618 just isn’t for me.
First off, he was 180° incorrect when he wrote “Your preference for HTML headers is actually frowned upon; according to H:HTML”. In fact, H:HTML actually says “however there are some situations in which the HTML alternative is useful” and it lists <h1> - <h6> as examples of permissible HTML markup that can be used.
Then he accused me of WP:OWNERSHIP, and ignored that I wrote that I normally used regular wiki-style header markup by writing “your preference for using HTML”, and accused me of trying to prevent others from editing articles, and totally ignored my reasoning for why I was using the HTML in that unique circumstance, and went back and reverted my edit, and then concluded with one of those cop-like “Have a nice day” when they hand you a speeding ticket.
I simply don’t believe he is in any way a “newbie”, nor do I have a flying clue what he meant when he wrote that he had 20 edits under his belt. Rather than get myself wound further around the axle—and in deeper hot water in a venue where insincere wikipleasantries acting as a facade for mean spiritedness is very often a successful ploy (“Gosh, I suggest you fuck yourself, pretty please”)—I disengaged. My instinct was to give him more plain-speak, where I would say what was actually on my mind:
“ | You know, I don’t believe for a second that you are a “newbie” editor, nor do I believe for a second that you had ‘Love’ in your heart when you gave me that dismissive salutation, and I don’t appreciate your arrogance that is buttressed only by assertions that H:HTML says such-n-such when it actually says the complete opposite. And, after ignoring what I actually wrote, accusing my of WP:Ownership, you revert me accompanied by a suggestion that I am simply trying to prevent others from editing there. | ” |
Better to let him vent and not feed the fire. I deeply appreciate your efforts to smooth things over. Greg L ( talk) 21:30, 23 June 2010 (UTC)

Dear Airplaneman, I have noticed that you did an excellent job with the article. I have tried to correct the method of references, as you suggested, but I have found some difficulty.
Dear Airplaneman, I much appreciate the hard work you are doing. As for the date of birth of A. Savvides, it is written in all his books together with his place of birth. Dear Airplaneman, today, July 23, I went to the ceremony and took some photos of the old man. The G. After the ceremony, I asked A. Savvides to give me some photos of him. He gave me some, telling me that I could publish them freely. I don't know exactly how to send them, but I will try anyway. Thank you very much for your great assistance on that Wikiquette.
Greg L ( talk) 21:30, 23 June 2010 (UTC)

one of these admins to request that they
userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the
article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions.

Hello, I notice that you recently created a new page, 2011 Australian Open - Women's Doubles. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as yourself. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page - 2011 Australian Open – Women's Doubles. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will to continue helping improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at 2011 Australian Open – Women's Doubles - you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.
If you think that the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the deletion by adding {{
hangon}}
to the top of
the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on
the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact

You realise that userbox still says that your pages have only been vandalised 3 times, when your userpage alone has been vandalised 7 times? Just pointing that out. Bramble claw x 17:27, 5 July 2010 (UTC)
