UK road junction pages (~24x) - complex changes

Please could someone make the changes detailed at Talk:List of road junctions in the United Kingdom/BOTREQ? Thank you. Andy Mabbett | Talk to Andy Mabbett 17:07, 6 August 2007 (UTC)

I don't see a consensus anywhere that such a change should be done. Perhaps talk a bit then come back? —— Eagle101 Need help? 15:50, 7 August 2007 (UTC)
I don't believe that's necessary. I just created the pages concerned, by splitting (with consensus!) one very long one; and the first half of the proposed changes (I've just re-ordered them) will complete that task - the very first one is a most-needed bug-fix.
The changes to add hcard microformats are uncontroversial, and have plenty of precedent, not least in the completed requests. above. Andy Mabbett | Talk to Andy Mabbett 19:45, 7 August 2007 (UTC)

Coordinates for Communes of the Nord department

Can a bot populate the coordinates column in Communes of the Nord department, A-K & Communes of the Nord department, L-Z, using {{ coord}}, by fetching the coordinates from each of the individual articles listed on those pages? If so, I'll add a similar column to the articles listing communes in other departments, also. then {{ kml}} can be added to the pages, so that all the places can be plotted on Google Maps, downloaded to GPS devices, etc. Thank you. Google Books links

[Was subsection of Remove Google Analytics tracking from external links]

Could the same task be useful in trimming cruft from Google Books links, like this edit? Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 11:30, 17 July 2013 (UTC)

Anyone? Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 20:12, 21 July 2013 (UTC)

Hey Andy: Sorry, I didn't see your post. That's definitely doable. What parameters would need to remain, though, and which would be okay to be stripped? page, for example, definitely needs to stay -- are there others? I wouldn't want to remove something that would alter the appearance of the page for the person who clicks on the link (besides, say, removing extraneous search terms and such). Theopolisme ( talk) 00:35, 22 July 2013 (UTC)
NP. I'm, not sure what other parameters exist, perhaps someone at Help talk:Citation Style 1 can help? I'll ping them. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 11:58, 27 July 2013 (UTC)
If we're talking about the url parameters, I usually remove everything except "id" and "pg". So far, that's always had the desired effect of displaying the Google Books page exactly the same, just without the highlighted search terms. DoctorKubla ( talk) 16:25, 27 July 2013 (UTC)

Infobox Korean name as a module

Instance of {{ Infobox Korean name}} which are underneath a biographical infobox (for example {{ Infobox person}}) need, where possible to be made a module of that infobox, as in this edit. I'm not asking for anyone to start work immediately, but - so that I can draw up a plan and get consensus - can anyone ease advise whether that's something it's likely at a bot could do, or would there be too many false positives? Could we perhaps work on the basis of proximity? Say, "if there is no subheading between them, make the edit"? Or "If nothing but white space separates them"?

Also, would it be possible, please, for someone to draw up a list of articles which use both of the infoboxes named above? Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 14:46, 8 August 2013 (UTC)

Apparently, there are 709: User:Pigsonthewing/Korean names. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 20:58, 9 August 2013 (UTC)

Remove link tracking

Could somebody please remove link tracking from Daily Mirror citations (and external links) (that's a UK newspaper) as in these edits? If the same can be done for other sites, so much the better. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 10:22, 13 February 2014 (UTC)

Anyone? Perhaps a job for one of the cleanup bots? Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 16:13, 23 February 2014 (UTC)
@ Pigsonthewing: Could you please point us to the discussion where consensus was formed to remove the link tracking? For this edit I used the following regex:
Find: (http:\/\/www\.(?:dailymail|examiner|mirror)\.co\.uk\/[A-Za-z0-9\/\.-]+)#[A-Za-z0-9\.]{12,13}(\s|\|)
Replace: $1$2
Is that the right logic? GoingBatty ( talk) 00:28, 24 February 2014 (UTC)
I'm not familiar with regex, so can't comment on yours, sorry. However, the changes in that edit look fine. Nor am I aware of such a discussion; but removal accords with WMF policies on privacy, and I've seen others remove it as a matter of routine, as do I. Why would we include it? Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 13:04, 24 February 2014 (UTC)
The regex looks for URLs for the UK sites dailymail, examiner, & mirror that end with a # followed by a series of 12 or 13 characters that contain letters/numbers/periods, and removes the # and subsequent characters. Do you have a link to the relevant WMF policies on privacy that I could add to the bot request form? Thanks! GoingBatty ( talk) 03:59, 26 February 2014 (UTC)
Sounds OK; try https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Privacy_policy - Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 14:00, 26 February 2014 (UTC)

I'll let someone else run with this request. Using AWB, I think finding all the articles to change would require using the database scanner, and I haven't been able to download the database successfully yet. Good luck! GoingBatty ( talk) 02:52, 4 March 2014 (UTC)
OK, thanks, anyway. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 15:44, 4 March 2014 (UTC)

Wikipedians with articles

Could someone please parse the list of editors at Wikipedia:Wikipedians_with_articles; check their contributions, and append (if not already there) the text "Not active." to anyone who hasn't edited in a period (say, 9 months?); and remove it from any that have? This task might usefully be re-run on a periodic basis. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 18:42, 19 August 2013 (UTC)

Redirects in navboxes

We don't normally "fix" redirects, but when they occur in navboxes, and the user views the article in question, the link is not de-linked and emboldened as it should be.

Can a bot find and fix them, as I did in this edit? Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 22:20, 12 November 2014 (UTC)
